Spam, but how did they know my mobile phone with our former bank?

I have a peoples account and the number did not work so I called peoples and they said it was a scam that happened today... fyi..

I received a text message from 203-938-7456@vtext.com stating to call People's United Bank at 1-415-240-4109, I called the senders number and he said he is receiveding 100's of calls it is a SCAM!

I got the same text message dated May 18th, same # but said they were Kitsap C.U. I called the # and the message said my debit card was now limited due to a technical difficulty and to press 1 now to fix it. I'm no fool:-). I feel bad for those who fall for this fraudulent activity!

I received the same message (Kitsap C.U).  Very scary that some people might actually punch in their account info.

I got a text message that told me to call Glacier Bank with this number.  I don't have an account with them.

I and my mom received a text. Came up as susqhanna bank never felt with. Don't answer, give info or call back.

This was a text May 18th, 2013 @ 5:36 pm that I received. Glacier Bank is not in San Francisco, CA where this number came from.  I have never dealt with Glacier Bank.   My husband got it at the same time.  Definitely a scam!!!

My husband and both got these texts synonymously! I'm enraged that upon further research done by my husband that the txt was sent through Verizon wireless!

Same text. Obviously a scam. I wish I have the knowlodge, time and money to track down these b*****ds and punch their faces for hours!!!!!!! I hate it

Called the main # for Chase & the agent said he has no record of 415-240-4109 being a # for Chase. He said it's definitely a scam! How do I block this? The call came in at 5:45a.m. - woke me up!!!!

Also received a text this morn on my Verizon phone, saying it was from Quimper Community F.C.U, telling me to call this number.  I think that is a credit union in my area code, but the number isn't theirs.  The text I received said came from 360874@vtext.com.  I will be talking to Verizon on Monday about this, since it's not a whole phone number that I can add to my cell block list.

I don't have a chase account so I knew it was a scam.

just called Chase directly to see if the text was from them. the numer is not a Chase Bank phone number.  was a phishing scheme to get more info on the debit card and my account.  definately fraud

Received the same text message.  Hit 1 to reactive card.

I received a robo-call from "Chase" re: strange spending on my CC account last fall.  Not trusting ANYONE, I hung up on the recording and immediately called the number on the back of my card, just to be safe. Sure enough, some jerk had gotten my number and was using it at Walmart.com.  I thought the robo was a scam, and regardless, I will never call or give info to a robo-call from any financial institution who uses this practice.  That's why they put customer svc # on statement and back of credit card.  By the way, Walmart .com told me that they could not give any info on the fraudulent charges, not even the fake email acct or origin of the transactions.  They could only give it to the police.  NICE.  Will never set foot in a Walmart again, thank you very much!  The best thing is that my cc was cancelled and reissued, but I did not receive it until after Christmas.  I had a wonderful excuse to stay within my holiday shopping budget!
