Yea the ad was on craigslist and they went by the name Maureen Roberts they sent a picture of some lady saying it was them and they worked for Fybom inc and that they needed a personal assistant  they sent me the same letter with the phone number +1 (347) 674-2318 . They sent a $3540 check and told me to keep $500 and to buy these scratch off cards of $500 each and send her the numbers. Thank goodness I didn't deposit the check into my account but I'm just mad that people would go through these lengths to try and scam people that are really in need of a job and are trying to do things the legal way

Detailed Job Description -- Personal Executive Assistant II
I?m looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and hard-working assistant to help me throughout my busy workweek. Although I only need someone to communicate with me and follow basic instructions, the assistant must be flexible, as my schedule is often irregular and I may be in contact only sporadically (between 8am and 5pm).

This position is home-based, part-time and flexible, and your work hours will not exceed 20 in one week.

As my Executives Personal Assistant, your duties will include;
* Running personal errands, supervisions and monitoring.* Scheduling programs, hotels & flights, and keeping me up to date with them.
* Acting as an alternative telephone correspondence while I'm away.
* Making regular contacts and drop-offs on my behalf. Handling and monitoring some of my financial activities..

The basic wage is $500 weekly, with the possibility for promotion throughout the year. At this point I have a very busy schedule and travel a lot?for instance, I?m in Canada right now, but will be back in three weeks.

Once again, this position is not office based for the time being, because of my frequent travels and tight schedules, and is part-time while you work from home. Because of the flexibility, you may even work another part-time job if you?re good at time-management.

Because of my large workload, I have a lot of back-logged work and would love to get you started immediately. Your first week will be probationary, while I assess your ability to help me with some immediate chores I need to have done. Your continued employment will be contingent on your diligence and expediency in assisting me. I hope you understand: while I?m confident you?ll work out well and  that our relationship will develop smoothly,  I need to find the right person for this job.

Our contact will be mostly online through email. I?m hard of hearing and have some trouble with phone calls, but if the need arises for us to talk I?d be glad to do so.

For the first week, I have some basic errands that I need run, but they must be completed correctly and efficiently. One of my clients will send you a Check/Money Order payment for a large office-supply order he just placed for a local group home for neglected children. I need you to use this payment to procure goods (I?ll send you an exact supply list later) so that you can send them out to my client. I?ll  get you more information later, If you?re in fact interested in this position

If you?re interested, please use our company?s form below to relay your basic information to me, so I know a bit about you and where to send goods, money orders, and, of course, your weekly salary.

CLICK TO SUBMIT

Once I have received your contact information, I will get back to you with the tasks for this week. I?ll also advance you your first week of pay, as I?d like to get everything done before I come back home to the US.
Get back as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Mrs Rita Rodriguez

The email I got the second one had this phone number. I googled everything part of this email and did not find a similar one.
No checks yet but we will see.....

CONFIRMED SCAM...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Got similar e-mails and a check sent via express mail out of Guastica, CA.  from Manello Perez,  He wants me to cash the check and get money pacs from CVS, Walgreens etcetera and then e-mail him the PIN numbers from the back of the moneypacs so he can purchase samples from some place in Arkansas.  Then he wanted me to go to a realestate agent and look for potential office space when he returned from his business travels in a week or two.

This is a Scam.  I called the bank that was listed on the cashiers check he sent and gave them the account number and the actual cashiers check number.  The bank, First National Bank out of Illinois, confirmed that the check was indeed fradulent.  The bank informed me that had I cashed the check it would have bounced and I would have been responsible for the entire amount of the check from my bank....which is where i would have cashed it.

Dont fall for this kind of stuff.   The check was mailed from 2803 East Guasti Rd.  GUASTI, CA 91743

Manello Perez also uses another bogus phone number  347-674-2318 and 415-484-6953

This guy said his name was Mannello Perez and needed me to be his personal assistant. I applied to a receptionist job for a dr. office and he says he works for bj's wholesale supply. I asked him if he worked for bj's or for a doctors office and he didn't answer. I typed in the phone number he sent me and I saw this site with all the other ppl commenting about him. He also asked me for a picture of myself. It seems that I am the only female that has commented on this subject. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing! Applied to a job on craigslist and got a reply from Keith Pastorella from Trim Inc saying I got the job and everything. He has my address and a photo of myself and he sent me a photo of himself. The email says it's coming from Mansfield, but the address he wrote in the email is LA, California. He has all my information. What should I do? Should I wait until he sends me stuff in the mail and then bring it to the authorities along with all the emails and original Craigslist listing?! Help!!

I would go a few steps further. If you have been a victim of this scam, contact your bank, yes, but also do this....in this order.

1) File a report with your local authorities. Take it with you when you go to the bank in person and close the account as suggested by Bebe.
2)After closing the account, open a new one with new numbers.
3) Place a flag on your report with Experian Equifax and TransUnion. This will prevent new lines of credit being taken out in your name without first verifying that it is you applying. This coverage is free and last for 6 months.

Take all information gathered to your local attorney generals office.  IMMEDIATELY!!

And for those of you who have already deposited a check from these scammers, close account.  By now they may have already found your account number.  go in person to discuss with your bank.  you will have several documents to sign but do it please. RIGHT AWAY!!!!

In PA there is a few people who almost lost their homes because of this.  Yes, their homes.  when they found their account numbers (when check was deposited) they traced all credit information attached.  Then forged names and social's and took equity out.  All happened in less than a week.

Just calm down! Step back and take a deep breath, let it out and relax!  Your not alone! Others have fallen victim to this scam as well.. Hopefully the more folks filing complaints and giving this info over, sooner or later they can catch this dud! Might take time, and he may even be in a foreign country for all we know, in which case it takes that country co-operating with ours, But it happens! :) At least your not out any money at this point! And thats a good thing!
