Missed a call from 415-522-0294 at 5:02pm but they did not leave a message (5 seconds of silence).  No Caller ID, just said "San Francisco, CA"  - called it back and it said it was a non-valid number.

No. It was NOT the SF tax collector's office. Call the office yourself by looking it up on the city's website and you will be told that no call was made. Please don't be one more scam victim.

Calls from this number are not from ANY city department. Each department has its own number. A call claiming to be from all of them, as well as from SF General Hospital ? which is not run by the city ? a man asking about his wife and child,  and a woman named Olga are obviously either poorly constructed scams or the actions of somebody with nothing better to do.

Think about it. If this was actually a city official, he or she would leave a number for you to call and tell you what the issue was. Haven't you ever had a scam call before?

Don't be so gullible. This is a scam call dialed at random via a computer program. If they happen to catch someone who actually does have a collectible debt (I do not and they called me, as well), the criminals can then collect your credit card number and empty your bank account.

How very amusing. I don't have any unpaid traffic violations. Nor do I own property in the City and County of SF. This is one of the more creative scams I've seen in a while.

I called the number back and the message states that I called a non working number of San Francisco.

SF Assesor's office called from that number wanting to confirm our business address after a move.

It`s Telemarketer!!!!!!!... folks. I`ve got this kind of calls all the time for years now. This what they do for living of selling (working) phone #.  What a CROOK!!!!!!! They use internet connection to call ppl. I guess.

I got a call from this # today, and they didn't leave a voice mail.  It's from City Hall in San Francisco.  After reading some postings here, I feel that it's just a mistake, or something.  I'm gonna blacklist it, so if they do call again, it can always go into my voice mail.  I can always check it later when I'm free :)

I got a call today and when i returned the call it said it was a non valid number in san francisco

This was the San Francisco Tax Collectors office calling to collect on an ambulance ride that originated in S.F. to Kaiser SSF...They haven't contacted for a year and are now calling even though Kaiser covers the majority of it!

Got a call from this number every two days for the past week at around 6:30-7 PM. Called back and get a non valid number message like other other people here. If its important it'd be nice to get a message lol. Hopefully I catch it one time when its ringing....

got a call from this number saying it was sheila from a specific govt office but i couldnt understand what she was saying... had my full legal name and gave an acct #...

Got 2 calls this morning - one right after the other.  No message left.

I got a call from this number regarding an issue with the Tax Collector. I believe it's a number they use to call FROM, but that you cannot call TO.

Received a voicemail, caller knew my name and said it related to an "account number." I called back and the message said it was an inoperative number. I don't even live in San Francisco.

It was the office of the Mayor of San Francisco (not a political call, like a robocall, but actual business).

A lot of calls from city departments seem to show up as this number on Caller ID.  I assume there's a big City PBX or something of that sort.  But, in any event, calls from this number could be from a wide range of city departments, including the mayor's office and the other departments indicated by other commenters.

Didn't pick up. Left message on machine stating: that this was Olga wishing me a merry Christmas and happy New Year. Don't know an Olga.
