On Nov. 3, 2012 I received a call on my cell from  415-620-6288 .  I did not answer the call because I was at work and I later looked this number up and found comments requarding this number and decided to report it. Hope something can be done about these kinds of calls.

i just got a call from this number today.  they also said they wanted to lower my interest rate and could do that for me over the phone. they said it was for visa master card which i have.  then they said if i have over $3500 on my card i was eligible to lower my interest rate.  i asked them which credit card and they just said visa mc and started listing banks. (suspicion #1)  then they asked me for my credit card information, (suspicion #2)  i said i was uncomfortable giving my cc info over the phone so i asked for a number where i can call back.  she then hung up.
this number is a scam!!!!!

I just signed up yesterday and immediately began getting telemarketing calls, and haven't had any in a long, long time.  Received the same call everyone else here is mentioning regarding interest rates.

People who choose to work as a telemarketer are MORONS!  Otherwise they would find another occupation.  The number (415) 620-6288 is a telemarketer number.  And don't tell me times are tough and jobs are hard to come by.  Hell you could go to work for "Payess Shoes", or "McDonald's", or be a greeter at WalMart.  At least you'd be helping people instead of harassing them.
I wouldn't even worry about trying to report these bums.  It's more trouble than its worth, and people don't really care about your problems anyway.  So next time you receive a call from this number, just politely ask the caller to put your number on THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST.  Most company's will honor your request and the calls should stop.
Hopefully then if enough people do this the company will be forced to close down and everybody will be happy.  Good luck!

First call I've gotten from this number (that I'm aware of), and it was just a hang-up.  But I answered, thus confirming that it's a valid number.

On the plus side, it's not a mobile, so at least it doesn't cost me anything.  On the down side, it's a virtual number forwarded to the UK, so I'm 6 hours ahead, time-wise.  If someone phones me at 3 am, heads are gonna roll!  It's happened before!

I just got a call a while ago (1PM CST, 11/03/12) and lasted for few seconds. Was on the other line, before put that on hold, they hung up.. quickly googling got me here. Looks like the scammers don't want to wait :D

Rec. this call, rang repeatedly - at least 8 times - but I didn't answer (I checked here first!) - caller ID said "Customer SVC".  Don't owe anyone anything, so I don't care if any interest rates are lowered. On the DNC list for all the good it (apparently) does...

I logged into my Verizon account and blocked the number for all three of our phones.

This number called my cell. I did not answer. No voicemail left. I am on the do not call list.

Ditto. They called my cell phone on a Saturday morning! When will this scam be ended and its perpetrators beheaded?

I answered and they said I have been paying on time for the last year and was working for a company the banks hired to get the interest rates lowered. He said I would need to give him the cc #'s but not the 3 didget code so I was assured they would not put a charge through. I told him I had cut up all my credit cards and cancelled all my credit lines and he hung up on me!

Got a call, didn't answer it. I get enough harassing calls, don't need a new one. We should all get together and sue them, that would shut them down. I did that with a company in CA regarding coupons, They finally stopped calling. I told them I not only would shut them down but they would then be out of a job. Everyone should also file a complaint with the Attorney General. I did that with someone in NY. They are currently working on that. It does work.

415-620-6288 continues to call my cell phone!!!  Caller is unknown!

415-620-6288 called my cell phone while I was at work today (11/2/12). If this a telemarketer, the are violating the rules of the Do Not Call list. My phone number *is* on the list and has been for a year!

If the owner of this number reads this blog, call me again! I can use the money/compensation you have to pay me under the FTC rules!

BTW: I don't know anyone in SF, CA.

Actually, the FTC _is_ going after these people and shut down a few. So do file a complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov

Thank goodness.  Of course, I don't need them calling me.

I got a missed call from this number - on my cell phone. Googled it to see who it could have been and not happy to find out that it's apparently a telemarketer. WTF? I got rid of the land line to stop calls like this from reaching me.

I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number.  :O)

I've learned, finally, that if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer the call - cell or home. The calls still come in and I miss some I want, on occasion, but I sure don't have to deal with the ones I don't want! If it's a call I do want, they'll either leave a message or let me know it's a friend some other way. I trained my kids to do the same. If my husband answers, he has to deal with them.

I also answered because I thought it was from a cousin with the same AC.  (San Francisco area.)  I heard a few Middle Eastern accented words and then a hang up, so now they know I have a working number.  I'm going with above advice to get the blacklist app.  Thank you!  If that doesn't work for any reason, I'll try Privacy Manager.

just got a call from them says its a california number. when i answered they hung up

Received 3 calls today from out of state numbers. The first call I answered b/c I recently paid off my mortgage and was wondering if it was the bank calling to confirm. After that I received 2 more calls from out of state. Any unkown number typically goes straight to voicemail and they will continue to go to voicemail until I need to return a legit call.

Got this call today on my call didnt answer it.  I downloaded an app for my android called blacklist, it blocks unwanted calls from numbers or text addresses added to it. Works great!
