Received a call from this number about an hour ago.  Didn't answer, and they left no message.  

Dislike calls from unknown solicitors.  I am on the do not call list.

Just got a call from this number. Caller ID says "ALLSTATE INS CO". Wanted to "review" my insurance. I said I had just reviewed my insurance needs. He asked me if I had a car. I said yes, and told him that he should have known that if he worked for Allstate. He asked when I last reviewed my insurance needs with my agent, and I told him just 2 month ago since I had just moved to this state. But he should have know that if he worked for Allstate. Then he said that his call was in error and hung up. Unsure what the scam is. Just wanted to report it.

why, oh why, would anyone give a credit card number over the phone to a complete stranger??? again, way to stop these morons is to JUST NOT ANSWER!!!! there are seven pages of 800 notes telling you why you should not give these people any info and anyone that thinks they're legit ???? --- i'll take a pound of whatever they're on!!!!!

Also. Do not answer for cancer, children's, police or fire dept, heart etc...salvation army etc.
Reputable charities do not use these phone calls.   You don't know who you are sending your money to.
They use names that are similar to reputable charities, trying to fool you.
I found this out the hard way, and trying to pass on a warning

DO NOT ANSWER PHONE....DO NOT CALL BACK....THEY DON'T CARE..
THEY ARE FISHING FOR VIABLE PHONE NUMBERS AND WHEN YOU ANSWER THAT JUST VERIFIES YOU OWN THE PHONE......DON'T PRESS "1". Either .    That lets them get more info....they then sell your number to other companies and you wind up getting more calls.    It's annoying for sure but just let it ring, after awhile calls will decrease....I only get maybe 3 a week. Now...just steel yourself, don't answer, check your caller ID.   Most of the time they are robocalls....why do you think most don't speak.....they just want viable numbers which you give them when you answer or call back.

I gave to that organization but never listed my phone number on their donation website. I won't give to them any more. Awful bold to look up a humble giver's phone and then call them.

I never answer calls I do not recognize,if it's important they will leave a message...... And I always Google the number.....and from reading the comments ..... it must be a scam  ......

I will not answer a phone call I cannot identify. These calls say 'Unknown Caller.'  The calls I've been receiving from this number are the same as calls I receive from 301-850-2252.   The message:  "May I speak to Miss (my name or my name without Miss,  or Mr.), please.  Hello?  Hello?"  Then the caller hangs up. I have been receiving these calls daily.  I have no intention of letting them know anyone might answer this call.  Because I won't pick up - ever.  And 415 is No. CA & 301 is MD.

Have supported Crown Ministries in the past, and seriously doubt it would patronize a call center firm to place such calls (I work for one).

called my cell phone and left no message on voice mail.  When I called the number back, it didn't eve ring and she asked Is this and said my exact name.  I hung up.

Received call today, they asked for my name, and as soon as I gave it, they proceeded to hang up!?  When I called back the number, the legitimate-sounding answering machine said they're a company that calls for various charitable and political organizations.

Called this AM. Caller ID says "California". I don't answer such calls unless I recognize the number. No message left. Too bad that enough people still answer the phone without screening caller ID info so that it keeps the telemarketers and scammers in business.

This number has called me twice today. Did not answer it either time.

Just now got a call on my cell phone from 415-669-5685.  Caller ID says "San Francisco/North Bay Area."  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, and after having looked it up here, I'm glad.

I have a solution on how to deal with all those Stupid calls DONT ANSWER THE PHONE.

I received a call today asking for my name and the man mispronounced my last name. I said this is her and he hung up. Caller ID shows from (415)669-5685. How rude.

Got a call and caller ID showed it as Out Of Area 1-415-669-5685 but the software I use to block calls showed it as Verizon 1-410-910-0623. So they had spoofed the number for caller ID. Of course I blocked both numbers.

Got this call again today at 12:17PM EST caller ID read 1-415-6695685 from INVERNESS, CA. did not pick up and no message was left.

I get these calls a lot. Not more than a few times a week though, luckily. It happens late evenings as well. I was ignoring the CA numbers because I was afraid of an insane friend that I'm trying to LOSE contact with who lives in that area. Now I know to just hit the on/off button when this happens. Sitting through the ringing is annoying.

Well, if it's legitimate, why would they want people to donate NOW?  Over the phone?  If you do donate, you don't know who you're donating to.  Plus, you're talking about a completely different number in your message.  

People - do NOT donate over the phone - find out how to donate to St Jude from the St Jude website - http://www.stjude.org/ - that's the only way to make sure you're not paying money to scammers.  And let's face it, there are many scammers out and about - especially since it's the Christmas season.

I received the call from 909 366 4126 today requesting to increase my monthly donation and I accepted to increase it. By the way, when I checked this page I was worried if it was a scam. I called St. Jude and I've told that it was a valid call from St. Jude representatives and everything is safe for me and my information.
