New number, same message. Beware! Found him on Craigslist. But the best part was he signed the email saying his name is Ricardo Gomez, but his e-mail said Jason Huntsman, and I totally called him out on it and then he wrote back with a new e-mail.

I answered an ad for an office assistant on Craig's List on Monday 10/31/11.  I rec'd a response on Tues.11/1 with virtually the exact same wording from a guy named John Hamilton.  Same 916 phone number.  I did respond to it just to see what happens but my gut told me this was a scam.  Thanks to all of you guys I won't be out any money.

This is a one time blog to inform people of these persons that are operating on craigslist, and they are not honorable.  I recieved a citibank check today for $2700.00, and it is very obvious that it is a fake.  I am going to take it to the authorities.

I have been trying so hard to find a job, and I think I have a bite.  I was responding to a job add, when I recieved an email from Larry Bryant.  I am not sure how he makes his money by sending me a check, but I am a believer of the posts that I have already read on these individuals, and if it appears to be too good to be true, it is....trust your instincts.

I am a very gullable person, but I refuse to be HAD!!!  Make sure to report any activity so that they can catch him and others!!  Thanks for reading!

Renee, are you in Seattle? I was planning on printing out my emails and going to the police as well. Maybe if we go together that will help the case against this guy?

I have been through this same thing this past week with this Larry character. He also sent me a cashiers check from US Bank which was sent royal air mail. I told him that I was resigning my position because things got incredibly shady and I found this message board. In the original email he asked me for my basic info (name, age, phone number, address, ect) so now this creep has my home address. I have reported the incident to ic3.gov and am not sure what to do with this cashiers check as I am certainly not taking it to the bank. Help?

Also the envelope looks to have been mailed from the UK but the cashiers check is from US Bank and he is supposedly in Australia with a Sacramento phone number the number he is currently using is 916 358 6736 and the email is llbbry8970@gmail.com

I got the same letter. At first I thought wow maybe the guy just doesn't speak English well, then it started getting fishy and when i asked for information from him he would not respond. I had a cashier's check mailed to me for the amount of 2700.00 from a supposed Katherine Dresser. Anyway, i'm going to the Police...I have all the emails and the Cashiers Check. Hopefully they can stop this guy.

Hi,
I just received the very same email from a Larry Bryant with the same contact number. This was in response for a receptionist/billing clerk.

Sounds fishy and not really what a receptionist would even do in a workplace.
