I'm getting these calls everyday 2 or 3 times on my blackberry, cell and home phone.  I'm really fed up.

It's a scam. I got a call from it and got suspicious when they were telling me the warranty on my 12 year old car was about to expire and I needed to get extended warranty.

I used canada411.ca to a reverse lookup for 4160003149, but canada411 found "No Listings for "416-000-3149" were found."

I'm sure some people fell for this scam and got charged on their credit cards.
Just post who charged your credit card so we can track the bastards.

They usually put their phone number or partial company name on the line item.

My opinion is that it is some type of automated dialer...grinding away and looking for valid numbers. As soon as it knows your number is a good one...you will keep getting the calls. How to stop them?? Your guess is as good as mine. I had 4 of them today...

DO NOT GO TO THE CRTC SITE!!  Any charity can go and buy the do-not-call list. Then any charity can do whatever they want with it, include sell it which is likely what happened.

The phone systems need to filter out the 000 part of the number.

I get a call from 416-000-5591/ 416-000-3149 that sent out a voicemail about a warranty from time to time.  There are a few selected persons who know my cell number so I think it's possible that Bell has sold our numbers to someone.

DO NOT register on the do not call list. This list collects REAL phone numbers and publishes it. In theory, legitimate telesales companies are supposed to check the list and cross you off. However, there are no legitimate telesales companies, so instead the bad ones just USE the list to call people. DO NOT USE THE DO NOT CALL LIST. You'll be sorry you did.

My Mom got a call regarding the warrenty on her Cobalt But it doesn't expire until 2014...epic tel-marketer fail!

And I keep getting them at around 9:45-10:15 So All I did was answered told them I knew they were a tel marketer they're wasting my air time andthen told them to piss off and didn't get a call back today...so just do that and they should leave you alone...More Vulgar Language would be better...Piss em' off Yell in they're ear!    Numbers were 416-000-1673, 416-000-4463, 818-870-9191, 562-223-8851, 580-822-3386, and a Restricted one.

i just got a call from that number like 10 minutes ago... have no idea who its is i didn't answer it was weird cuz my phone rang the ring tone for my contacts list.... anyway i think its prolly some creeper so don't answer it.

Don't put your number on the do not call list, they sold all the numbers to US telemarketers, so now I get the 000 number calls and all kinds of numbers from California and DC. grrr!

I too am from Ontario and my cell is with Rogers. Been getting these calls too like crazy. Signed up for rogers call manager last night and blocked and numbers starting with 416-000. I suggest you guys try this feature.  First two months are free and then it's $5 a month afterwards. I've heard registering with the national do not call list can actually make you get more calls... Some weird loop hole in the rules and regualtions of it.  but that could be hearsay

I got these calls from these #s. go to manage calls on cell phn go to accept list and all ur fav calls list them depends on phn u can store between 10 - 32 phn #s  then only call back #s u reconize #s on list will get thru others will not good luck

Hey i live out in hawaii an i get these calls on my cell at least 3 times a week!! I even tried pressing #2 to get my name off the list but nothing. So i finnaly spoke to someone an told them to remove me from the list. They hang up one me!!! Today another call came in i told the guy that i requested that they not call me anymore!! His response was" well i guess you didn't requset it enough!! I was like wtf!! Why can't you stop calling me. He said it wasn't up to him. I said who do i need to speak to. He said his supervisor then he hung up one me!! Im am soooo fed up with this company!! ANy help would be awesome!! Aloha!

The recording says that factory warranty on my vehicle has expired. It said to press 1 to speak to a representative, or 2 to be removed from the list.

It's really annoying...

I finally went through the process of getting someone on the line....The call is routed through First Call Activation and directed to Choice Protection out of New Jersey. ' Spoke with "Fred" about some B.S. warranty extension he claimed was through SouthPark GMC. These harassing calls had better stop NOW! I suspect that my Rogers Mobile phone service has sold a list of its clients phone numbers...

This calling is really starting to PMO!! In the last 2 weeks have received no less than 4 calls, at any hour of the day!

I live in Ontario, Canada.  My work phone# is with "Ma Bell" so I am suspecting that similiar to "Mikes" posting above, Bell has also given or sold out its customers to Marketeers for 40 pieces of silver....

I have the same thing, I'm living in Ontario.  In the past week i have had five calls from a 416-000 #. I never bother answering any of them. Today there were 2 calls in less than 1.5 hours. This is ridiculous.

I have gotten calls from 416-000-4963,416-000-1357,416-000-5876 and the list goes on and on and on because this has been happening every freskin day for 5 weeks!!!I am going to snap if this doesn't stop!!!! Something has to give!!! Has anyone figured a way to block or stop this yet?????
