An unwanted call from this purported Scarborough, Ontario, Canada landline arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.

Posters have reported a wide variety of schemes by which this scam artist practices telephone thievery. To avoid becoming a victim of these telecriminals, LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

I received multiple calls from this number, claiming to be Smart Tech, which was supposed to be a computer program authorized by Dell.  As soon as I canceled my Smart Tech service, I began receiving these calls, and also began having problems with my computer.  My provider for Internet said I had a virus and did not recommend Smart Tech services.

Never, again Never answer a call from a number you don't recognize. If valid they will likely leave a message. However , in either case do the research first. Find what others have documented and if a scam, 87% of Skyped numbers are, 78% are from India and /or Bangladesh. Then don't receive calls from them any further . If no means to block calls assign a unique ring tone so what ever you do or wherever you are you know it's the A - holes calling. They won't stop. They are intolerable and there are enough folks falling for their scams for them to continue. If slammed of yet enough they will sell your number to another A-hole and it starts all over. The Govt. had done little to stop this literal attack on US citizens. These folks coupled with overly aggressive debt collectors are truly the scum of the earth and although having sworn to peace I would have little remorse if they were all sent straight to hell

calls from 416-364-1111.  No one there when you pick up.  Getting calls every few minutes.  drives you nuts.

Fake number

This number has called my house 4 times in less than 24 hours with two calls after 2am, which i answered because my mom was in hospital.  Whenever I answer they hang up why doesn't somebody do something about this??

I get repeated calls on my cell as well, but from different area codes.  You can "block" the number on your cell phone, but I am finding that they just call from another area code.  I keep blocking!  They seem to have slowed down a bit since I've been blocking them, but it is still a p.i.t.a. !!

These guys just don't give up. They have become very aggressive in nature. Every time one of these scammers call I store it in my regular phone as a scammer. Thanks to Panasonic's caller ID I can edit an unknown name to "Scammer" with a number. Such as Scammer 1 or Scammer 2 etc. I know not to pick up. Only problem is that I can't block out of area or unknown or name not found or private number because I do expect phone calls from banks, financial advisors, and real estate persons I know and trust.

They called four (4) times within minutes. I never picked up. Scammers...

Another foreign speaking man telling  me my computer was hacked into.  Said he was from Microsoft.  Good thing I'm not stupid.

I get a call from this number every damm day since the year started

Some guy with a heavy Indian accent just called said he was with Microsoft technical support. This is the second time this week. Glad I did a search with the phone number 416-364-1111 to get this scam info. Thanks every one.

got a call from this number, when I answer there was to much noise on the back ground and someone with a thick accent traing to talk. I told him that I had trouble listening so hi said he will call me back, and he did 30 sec later. Now when he call his number was private. I knew this was nothing good but had nothing to do at that time so I play along. He said he was calling from google support and that my computer had a virus, I told him that I dont have a computer and he said yes do do. how do you know, because I see that you have internet conection ( i had no idea how he knew) then I said that I had that service for my tablet, so he calls a manager and start to talk to him about me not having a computer but a tablet and what to do. So managet takes the phone and talks to me about them detecting a virus throug my router jajajaja then said that antivirus that I have is not 100 % secure and their tech support is 100% and that every 10 days they will clean my computer. and told him how dumb he was with all this info and stop talking to him because I had other things to do.

I try to call back and it is not possible please put this number down unwanted phone calls

I just received a call from these guys at 1:24 A.M. of course I missed the call but it's the same thing. I tried to call the number back and it is not a working number. The next time they call I am going to tell them I am getting my number changed and pass them on over to my lawyer's office and let them handle it.

I received a call from 416-364-1111 as a missed call. Having a friend that's from Canada I thought her family was calling. But when I called It said invalid number. Then I remembered I received a call stating that I won a goverment grant of 8,000 as well from this number.

caller said he was calling from WebTech Support. When I asked what country he was in, he said he was in United States of America. I then inquired as to what State was he located in and he said he was in Texas Plano. I told him thanks for trying to scam me, then I hung up. The call came in on my cellphone.

There is no "Canadian Embassy" in Toronto. Toronto is in Canada. Embassies are a country's representation abroad. No country keeps an embassy within its own borders.
