Phone them and hit the # key several times and select an extension by last name. Type in cherry he is the president. Leave him a message. I got an automated computer message that someone garbled computer voice who is not me (perhaps the former owner of this cell number 5 or more years ago) owes money. If proper research isn't done in advance this is harassment in my opinion. Got to be a scum bag to work in collections and a bigger one to run a company that does collections.

Yah... it is a scam.  They don't give the name of the person they are looking for and fish to find out what the name is of whoever answers their Robocalls. Don't give any personal information or credit card information to these scammers ;)

Yup. Just got a call from the same number. The guy asks me what's my name. My automatic response - you called. So you tell me who do you want to speak with. Asks for my name again and I just hang up. Calls back and leaves a message saying he's calling from A1 credit and has to discuss an 'important business matter' and I should call back 'immediately'. The call sounded fishy from the get go and after hearing the voice mail I realise these scamsters are just the scum of society. From now on I'll follow the rule - if you don't recognise the number, don't answer the call.

I just got a call vlaiming I owed money however gave me the wrong address..... not only that but the girl who was on the other line started sucking her teeth at me and telling me I dodge payment.... then I dand to speak to a manager and I got the owner...... wow really lucky that was... how ofeten do you get to speak to the owner.... never! take caution on giving out any info to thos company!

But this is the third call in two days from what appear to be cridti companies asking for random names.

Why not stop judging others and get on with your life? It is much more productive and takes a lot less of your time. This name is one of the biggest scammers in Ontario. they were fined, the owner now in U.S jail for 10 years. He defrauded American seniors and the FBI caught him in Miami last year. Canada is lax when it comes to white collar crimes. we reward the criminals and keep them in business. If these crooks called you just keep wasting their time on the phone and laugh at their stupidity. only three dummies left in their Toronto office and all three are high school drop outs. haha

If you receive a phone call from this company, your best option realistically is to call back and let them explain why and to whom you owe money. If you do not agree with the existence of said debt, call the creditor directly to verify (the agent you are dealing with should be able to provide you their contact number). If in fact the debt is legitimate, then make arrangements to pay it back. If you don't want calls, then ask them not to call you, and provide an updated mailing address where they can send letters. There really isn't any need on both sides to get worked up over something so easily resolved.

I never answer calls from Numbers I don't Recognize.  This one has Phoned more than a few times.  Its Annoying!

I wouldn't worry too much about this company.  They are slowly going under due to their lack of decent clients.  The majority of their staff is not even licensed to collect in Ontario let alone any other provinces,  Demand their collectors licence numbers and confirm this with  Consumer Protection, they can and will be fined if too many of their employees are found to be unlicensed. Also keep in mind these debts that they are chasing have been handed down and passed through many different agency's.  Chances are you were already reported to the credit bureau by a previous agency.  Check your credit history before making arrangements.  If you've already been reported, my suggestion is you tell them they have the wrong number.  If they continue to call you can report them and have them fined.  These are very serious charges to a collection agency if they continue to break the rules.

They called and left a message saying they were calling from, "Proactiv Solutions". I think its a Collection Agency.

What the hell is "deformation of character"? How would you know if they are following laws and regulations when clearly you are severely lacking in any legal knowledge whatsoever. I watched a part of judge Judy one time and even I know just from that that it's DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER. As in they defamed you or assassinated your character. For the love of god, pick up a book.

I received an unsolicited call from this number today without any message, so I googled the number to find all of these comments. As these posts suggested that the phone number belongs to a credit collection company, I called them back to try and make sure I don't have any debts that I'm not aware of, but they couldn't tell me why they called, who called me, etc. So it seems their system may have some operational deficiencies.

I then proceeded to look them up on the internet, as all of these 'heated' posts sparked my curiosity, and had a chuckle that the motto on the a1creditservicesinc.com website is "Bad things happen to good people"... unique lol. Anyways, it does seem that they are a legit credit collection company, but may have some work to do on getting their business model & operations right.

They just called my home and I never had a vonage or an xm account so they are definitely a scam organization or why would they be calling my phone number which I have had since 2004? Do not talk to these jerks they are not an authentic company!

Good people being harassed, to the point that we have to search the internet, then to be insulted even further here by what I'm guessing are either working for these people or are just to ignorant to realize that these scams are very real.
I'm just happy that we are bright enough (also debt free I might add) to realize when something like this is completely fishy.
It's the people who are being taken advantage of that really pisses me off.. seriously.. I wonder just how many elderly people they have robbed over the years.
