Certain people are very smart disguising themselves by wearing angel of mercy costumes.  For this reason, I will not donate anything and I prefer to throw it away instead of donating anything to them and they will sell those donated items for profit and stick the money to their own pockets.  It is just like getting something for free and sell it.  It is even better if you can make it legit so no one can tell you that you are a fox wearing a sheep skin costumes.
So, I will not donate anything and you will find my answering machine answer your call everytime you call my number.

Children's Aids are not charitable organisations. Most, however, have established charitable wings usually called foundations. (Halton Children's Aid FOUNDATION ) These have a separate staff, director and are governed by a board of directors. These are legit and the money, goods and services goes directly to fund stuff for kids in care that is not covered by government funding such as Christmas presents and post-secondary bursaries for books and tuition. They do not solicit clothing or other used goods, rather they access corporate sponsors or raise funds through events.

I don't care who they are, I'm on a Do Not Call list, that means all telemarketers including these guys.  Tired of people bothering me for carpet cleaning, air duct cleaning, donations for this, for that.  "DO NOT CALL" mean DO NOT CALL.

These people who think that just because some one is running a charity that they can call numerous times even after being asked politely to stop calling. Any respectable charity will  leave their name. If they refuse to identify themselves then I have the right  to be upset and make my feelings known.

East Indian man claiming to be from Microsoft.  Another scam the CRTC doesn't/can't/won't do anything about even though they are using a Bell land line.

You would think Microsoft would have call display!

Caller with east indian accent calls and says they are from microsoft support . calls start at 1000am and continue daily .Tonight was at 915pm.Does not know when to shut up! Told them not to call and that this is a scam. Doesn't stop them. Time to report them to the CRTC.

Spring cleaning is just around the corner so this is a GREAT time to give these morons what they deserve.  I've got some Great used computer monitors and old electronic to donate to them at there time and expense.  I'm glad to recycle and let them do the hauling away.

Listen to their message carefully.  They didn't say they "are" Make a Wish Foundation.  They said they are "in support" of the Make a Wish Foundation.  "Being" the foundation and "supporting" the foundation are 2 different things.  This is a private business [big business].  How much money they actually give to the foundation is another question.

If they do it as a joint venture, they usually keep half or more.  The rest goes to charity.  The charity then eats half or more for the executives and administration.  Very little actually goes to the real cause.

call first to see who has a machine in your area it works the word REMEDY changes the game in your favor.  

They have an automatic call list, and the phone dials automatically, tell them no you don't want to donate, i don't know why your getting all upset, its a charity, they don't know you don't want to donate from one month to the next, get a grip people

If this is a charity looking for donations of used items then why are they calling me in Windsor when they are in Toronto. I don't think they are coming here to pick tjing up. I do get call from a local charity for that purpise.

I am not sure why a charity in Ontario is calling me in British Columbia.

1) Their name appears on my Caller ID
2) when or if I answer there better be a person there NOT dead air

This number called my cell phone but did not leave a message. If they are legit charity, why would they call me in Vancouver BC? Annoying.

What these charities who telephone solicit don't understand, is that my phone is for my convenience, not theirs.   Also, I won't give to charities who use marketing companies to raise funds.   It's all fine and dandy to give a contract to the marketing company, then sit back and wait for the money to roll in.   How about the charities getting out there, talking to people, making calls themselves, sell their "product", and it would generate more income and not have so much of the funds raised going to pay for the convenience of having someone else make the calls.   A lot of charities have too high overhead costs, and marketing companies are a large part of the reason.

Whatever foundation that they mention, please do not not donate.  Once you do that, the rest of the world foundation will start calling you the next day.  Again, you do not know who you are speaking to on the other end, they could be fox wearing sheep skin costumes and ready to scam you once you start talking to them.

Thank you for this information on the 416-752-3873 number.  At least we now know who it's generated from.  We would be pleased to donate to a worthy cause, if the cause would leave some info (ie. voicemail message).  Other than that, we choose to ignore.  Too bad..not the best marketing on their part.

Receive calls daily (sometimes a couple of times/day) from this number.  Fortunately we have call display and choose not to answer it.  Of course, they never leave a message.  I would love to block this number if possible.

this is why a number of states have outlawed the use of auto-dialers by call centres.

these folks most probably take donated clothing and send it to India for reprocessing. It is most doubtful that Value Village ever sees any of what is collected. If they were an honest outfit they would leave their name and a number to call.

Tell them to remove your number from their call list.  They must do so.  And if they call after that you can have them charged with harassment.
