These type of calls is "Voice Broadcasting", you can google it....cost as low as 1¢ per call.
Different company use different name, like "Heather" is from company A, and "Rachel" is from company B.
First, I think the solution is to have a phone with "Call Blocking" feature build-in. So you don't have to pay montly fees for blocking individual numbers. Second, they want to get their message across to you by a breif message left on your answering machine. So, I think turn the AM off, they can only call you once but not twice because you use your phone to block that number. Third, If both option is not available to you, then check with your phone provider, add CALL FORWARDING into your current package. Forward it to a "not in service" number.
Also you must file complaints to Do-Not-Call.....
Someone from another thread had discover the person who run these type of calls...worth to take a look....or call him and ask, see what he know....may be this number is run by his associate, friends or family member.

Hit all five of my phones on the same day. Both cells and home phone and with different carriers. Nobody has even two of these numbers. Gotta be some super computer dialer.
I'm gonna block all 416-800-xxxx numbers with Mr Number app since all this computer generated junk is coming from this exchange

Thanks for listing this number. I got a call Nov.12th, ~5pm and let it go to voice-mail. So the Do-Not-Call list is ignored by them. Hmmm, maybe that makes them a target for fines?

"800" numbers are for calling; not answering.

Called my cell twice within a month?
| who cares 2011-11-12 15:42:46 Telemarketer |
I received a call from this number on my cell 2 minutes ago. Only people who have my cell number our close family & friends, so i knew right away that this person most likely was someone i did not formally know. Decided to google this number and it turns out this number is a telemarketer number. What confuses me is the fact that up until this point, i have NEVER gotten any spam or telemarketers calling my cell. I have no idea how these people found my number, as i am not in any debt AND im on the national DNC list. These people are breaking laws because they are gathering personal information on people who have placed themselves on the DNC list and by calling those numbers they are violating company policies. They also decided to call me at 10 AM in the morning, i did not know telemarketers started calling people that early?? Im glad i did not answer this number. Apparently you can be charged additional fees on your cell for answering this number since it is a long distance number.

The number called again at 11:30 pm last night. Answered, claimed I have debt issues my credit card is over due and my phone is about to be disconnected, couldn't tell me my name nor the number they called, the guys on the other end said "you should know", and asked me for my account numbers to verify I am who I am, funny they called me!
I have no debt issues.

Got a call on my cellphone from 1-416-800-1778. I have no answering service on my cell....so I pressed IGNORE. If I don't know the number or if the number looks ODD.... I ignore. This number has called my house too....about Debt. It's dumb because my husband and I have no debt so I don't know how or where they get our numbers. I have also pushed all the key pad numbers because I was told that doing this will screw up their automated system.... Wish I knew if that was true and if I'm pushing the correct buttons. AARRGGGHHHHHHH One time, a woman waited for the button tones to stop and gave me hell for pushing the buttons. She told me I should just ask to have my number removed. I told her I had done that several times and that I never asked her to call me in the first place so I hit more buttons and hung up. They immediately called back so I shut off my answering machine......I love screwing with this idiots.

Just had that number call me. Been getting these phone calls a lot on my cell, and so's my family. Not only voice messages, but text messages are left on my phone from these so-called "debt collectors." Frustrating.

My call display shows this number with a "441" prefix, which is likely the country code. That would mean the call is originating in Bermuda. In turn, that means the calls are probably not subject to the DNC List rules. But is still p.'s me off!
