I just got a text a few hours ago by "Laura" and how I should go on that "hookupsincanada" website.
This is the FIRST time I got a spam text.
I'll be checking here to see any developments.

I have received two texts from this number now...absolutely annoying as they are in the middle of the night!
where did they get my number??

Got a text from this number indicating the person was Amber, and I should visit their profile on www.hookupincanada.com. This is not appreciated and I am unsure how my number came into possession of whomever it is doing this.

Googled the phone number and got this site .... http://www.callercenter.com/416-821-0486.html ....
It seems to provide a forum for "gripe" exchange but I wonder if they are the scammers themselves and this is just another way of phishing for your personal info? .....Or am I becoming too cynical in this Technological Age.

I just received a text message similar to others who reported receiving similar messages from another phone number, which is a spam or scam or whatever you want to call it. The message I got was:
" Hey! It's Amber. I just put some pics on my profile at www.hookupincanada.com my username is Amber001xx. Make a free account and add me."
I do wonder though -- where did this " person" get my phone number from? I normally only give out my landline which is also unlisted. Unfortunately, nothing is sacred nowadays and we're all living in glass houses. :(
