Me too! The damn number called my phone 24 times from Nov.24 to Dec.17. It cost $6.5.by my voicemail.  I am rogers pay as you go account, Every month I charge $20 on my account. My money was bit 30% by the number.

The more reports they get from us the faster they will act on it. It seems to be a Nationwide Fraud.

Roger's will block the calls. For a charge. Then tomorrow they'll call from another number, followed by another number the day after. There are lots of very good low-cost apps' that you can get for iphones, android, etc. to block calls.

I have received 14 calls from this number which costs between 25 and 50 cents for each voicemail. I have tried many times to call this number from a land line - it disconnects after ringing out.

Does anyone know if my provider (Rogers) an block calls from this number?

This is a voice mail phone for rogers get them to take off voice mail on your cell it should be gone. The nice lady gave me a credit for all the calls there. She said it was put on when I had my phone activated but I was not told about it she was very nice at ROGERS

I get this call from 416 822 1142 try to call back to say stop  goes dead. This is on my Rogers phone cost me 0.40 per call how do you stop this.

This number leaves me voice mails costing me every time time they do it. Is it possible to block a number such as this one?

Reporting many calls to my cell phone from this number - several a month. Impossible to identify caller. Call-back just rings until phone system decides it has rung long enough and beeps at me. Rogers bills it at 25 cents for "voicemail", although there is never a message. Not sure where to go from here.

I have the same problem: shows as voicemail, charges 25 cents, leaves no message. Costing me a small fortune, but impossible to identify.  I'm going to try the Canadian "do not call" list and see if they can do something.

I am also looking at my Rogers Pay as you go online account and am seeing several "Voicemail Received" items on my Call/Transaction History from this number.  The thing is that there are no unchecked voicemails waiting for me, even though the last one was supposedly left only 2 days ago.  What is this??

I got 7 voicemail messages from (416)822-1142 in March, 8 in February and 7 in January.
Have not checked who is involved as it would also cost me to check each message. It is bad enough that I am being charged for each message that I do not want.

She refused to help me further on this issue and insists that I should pay the bill. When I google then I see many other consumer victim of the same number and same type of problem. I dont know where to report this and what to do. But I am sure this is a scam. My greatest fear is hopefully this number doesnt belong to some drug or mafia group. God help Rogers to be friendly

Called Rogers to complain... never called it yet itappears at least 10 times on my bill.
I called the # from home aqnd it rings that's it. To make a long story short it's impossible that we all have the same problem and we don't know eachother?????
My contract is over this month and I am cancelling with Rogers!!!
6 years of service with them theycan but chose not to remove these fraudulent charges.
My bill every month is over 250. 00....do the math over 6 years...
$ 7.50 has just costed them so much more....

New rogers Pay as you go phone and no voice mail setup yet still being charged $.25 for voicemail messages from this number.  Will disable voicemail ASAP because of this person.  So far 19 messages ($4.75) cost to me.

I just got a new Rogers phone less than 2 weeks ago. My balance kept going down and I had no idea why until I set up an online account and saw that I had received 11 voicemail messages from this number. I don't even have my voicemail set up so I had no idea people could even leave me a message. On my phone my voicemail has always said 0 messages. It makes me think that Rogers is behind it. Wish I stayed with my other phone company.

I activated my old cell number as Rogers pay as you go phone with Voice Mail.
Within hours I get 4 calls - 416-822-1142 was the number shown on the transaction history. However, 494-515-0035 was one of 2 numbers shown on the call (we never got calls before!). I don't know the originating number for the other call as it was not picked up and the missed call log was erased.

I called Rogers and got the charges reversed.
(Although this was more likely since the automatic dialer for voicemail was dialing long distance to pick up these spam messages!)

The 416-822-1142 number is likely only used to relay calls.

Received voicemail charges against this number, through September 08 after changing my Rogers wireless number to 705 area code. When called there is no answer... rings for 45 seconds then turns to busy signal. I have not activated my new voicemail but was charged by Rogers for 13 voicemails from this number. When my number is called voicemail does not accept messages because it has not been activated by me. Awaiting explanation from Rogers.

They offered 50% off !  The point is how does this happen in the first place.  No answer. And why would I pay for calls no one made from our phone. The fight begins. There was also a 30 min. call to another number ( a business ) The gentleman was away on a cruise !
