Am in Toronto. Called at 7:15 p.m., rang once and disconnected.

I got a call at 817pm and I didn't say anything. I couldn't hear anything on the other end either. Whoever it was then hung up.

I'm also getting calls every now and then from a man with a husky voice. Almost like hes trying to whisper all the time when he speaks. He calls and usually hides his number as unknown however he does forget to block it sometimes and its usually 4168474999.

A man called asking for personal information, when I asked for his identity he hung up.

It's f***ing Bell Canada CollectCorp.....they agents are f***ed up in the head! and rude! they are simply useless! and  i wouldn't even wipe my a** with them!

And mainly there are 2 losers of them (not that they all aren't which they are all)....her name is kim (if that is that wasn't a lie) and the other want is Mark Glass.. or something....the whole agency have high school diplomas! so if they call you make sure you fight them. MOST PPL DON'T REALLY OWN MONEY! BUT THEY HASSLE THEM ANYWAY!

It's true what one person said, this number, 416-847-4999, is a long distance connecting number.  For example, sometimes when some of my relatives in China call me here in Canada, they will use a special long distance service which happens to connect through this number, which is why it comes up on the call display.  I have it programmed in my phone as "Call from China."  So far, everytime this number shows up, and the corresponding "Call from China" entry, it's actually a call from Friends/Relatives in China.

From the other people here that received a call from this number, it seems I got off easy.
If this 'person' call me or you back, lets make sure to give them a harsh response !

I also got a phone call from this number. He had an Indian accent, and I first thought it was telemarketing because he asked for the owner of the house. When I told him, they weren't home. He asked me what my name was, when I insisted he tell me his first, he replied John. I asked him why he was calling, he replied to "for time past". Then I asked him why he asked to speak to the owner of the house, again he said "for time past". And, the f***er said that he wants to talk to me and "be my friend".
I then asked him if this was a joke, and he replied "What do you think?". At this point, I said goodbye and hung up.

ANYWAY I AM WITH PRIMUS CANADA, SO I WILL INFORM THEM SHORTLY I WILL ALSO BLOCK THIS NO FROM COMING THROUGH IN THE FUTURE. I PERSONALLY THINK THESE UNWANTED CALLS IS VERY ANNOYING ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE VERY BUSY.

A politician,   or phone company who offers a way of restraining annoying calls like this would gain support.  We need a way of stopping stupid, unwanted calls.

My nanny answered a call from this number.  Guy asked for my wife by name.  When the nanny said wife was not home he asked my nanny if she wants to go out tonight.  Nanny is a little freaked out.  I found this site after googling for the number.

Picked up phone and it was my wife calling from China, though the caller id showed 416 847 4999. Really weird, and neither my wife nor me had any idea about that.

This number once called my house 8 times in one night. No, i'm sorry, within one hour in one night. I had to unplug my phone to get them to stop calling over and over. I can hear them breathing. I think it is a calling card. This is unbelievable!!!

Got a call from this number, and it sounded like they left a message using a sound board.

These f*ckers phoned twice last night, 1:30 am and 2:30 am, terrifying my wife and I, as we both have elderly parents. Just silence on the other end when I answered.

416-847-4999 is local number that transferred a call I got from Hong Kong today.

I got a call from (416) 847-4999 and the voice was garbled. After I hanged up, after a minute I got a call from a private number. It was my friend from Italy. I asked him did he called earlier and he confirmed and said that he did not hear anything and hanged up.

It appeared that this number is probably dead-end of unsuccessful calls.

some weird guy calls and asks if we want duct cleaning. They don't have a phone number and it shows up unknown name and unknown number. How does the government of Canada fail to notice such harassment calls?
