Fradulent identity thieves posing as Rogers. Contacted Rogers, they advised that marketing call display numbers are always toll free [you can contact Rogers directly to see if the toll free on your call dislay belongs to one of the companies outsourced to]. Have now been called by this number [among others] several times.

This company is used by rogers to telemarket. If you are not comfortable giving them your credit references, THEN DON'T, its not rocket science.
And when Rogers calls you back (a follow up or a call from tech support) it always comes up as a 416 number.

ive been getting calls from this phone every single day for the past week. Everytime someone is home alone, or just got home. i dont know if it's just coincidence?
KDB 2011-06-06 20:49:01 Unknown
Ditto - regular calls over the past couple of months from this number. As everyone else has found out, the number is not in service when you try calling back. When we have picked up, dead silence.

A very annoying call from 416-907-0554
PC 2011-06-06 20:49:01 Unknown
We should contact CRTC and have them do an investigation into this # and have people post the status of the investigation on this site. If enough people call they will have to act upon the request's.

(416) 907-0554 I spoke with someone asking for detailed information about rogers account holder. Call was noisy, like from cell phone in car. Flags went up when they asked for the old account holder's name, as I changed the account name last year.
So, they're either using oudated contact information or lying. I used the phone features in my VOIP to forward there next call directly to the CRTC - 1(877) 249-2782

I am posting the same as the rest of the comments. They call once or twice a day. I've never picked up. I think I will next time and have some fun - that is if they talk.

I continually get calls from 416-907-0554 - when I try to call back I get a recording saying the number is not assigned. Once they asked for my name and another time they said that they were calling relative to my Rogers service.

I have been getting calls from these guys ever since i moved to Guelph 7 months ago. Once in a while a call will come at an inappropriate hour. Anyways they called today and I picked up the phone and said nothing to see if I could hear something at the other end, and after waiting for about 5 seconds the guy on the other end said "Hello?". I said hello and he knew my name and said he was from Rogers... He said he had some special promotions and discounts for me. He then said "Your current telephone provider is Bell, right?" and I said "if you were actually from Rogers then you would know that my phone provider is Rogers". He then said "Well I don't actually have your phone information on hand, thank you, bye" and hung up the phone. He sounded like a little middle eastern guy. These guys are way too inconsistent and unprofessional to be Rogers employees.

Bell claims it's a telemarketer and will not release any information.
They told me to do the following:
Pay $5 to block the number, but that's no guarantee because they may have many other numbers and start calling from another one...
Pay $5 per call to dial *57 and trace the call back to the police, that could later be used in a court case, if I could figure out who they were.
Bell will not release any information on who they've sold the number to, no matter what.

Jeremy,
Think you better get up from beside Sarah there in your 310 Bell call center, probably from Minacs; and quit trying to make the moves or whatever your trying to do....!? Get you s*** right brother, both you guys have no clue what your talking about or dealing with here. Think maybe you guys should save up your money and try and go back to highschool, hopefully you can get your grades up in english, or better yet stick where you are in the call center! As I hope you both don't talk the way you write!
? 2008-03-12 02:54:30 Unknown
Sarah,
Your s****ing me right, this better not be some b***s*** scheme for bell to make money off there telemartketing stop 5$ charge, this is a number sold from your head company not he little call center office your working from sitting at that desk with your headset on waiting for the phone to beep. This number has been subbed out tho through Rogers to GT and then to IRIS TEL who has a subscriber using the outgoing number VOIP line to harrass people or something... Think you better call your call center supervisor over and request to get Bell on top of this if this is what you claim.

I have been receiving these calls for near a month from both the 0553 and 0554 numbers. The company is indeed IRISTEL www.iristel.ca I have no idea what these people actually do as the company does sound quit fishy. You can call this idiot 416-299-4521 who barely speaks proper English and he'll dabble around anything you say about the company and your complaint and not give you his name but will provide you with a so called customer service number to some chick in Romania using a 416 number, who seems to be afraid to give out information or I was being real hard on the phone she could of been scared thinking I was going to Matrix through it into her home as that is where she works from!? Apparently these numbers are all run from VOIP Telephones. The Company itself runs out of Markham Ontario

Apparently a Manager to speak with that Beatrice gave me (Romania) is Michael Gerr and Magot Buchera ? Don?t quote me on the spelling...
I have already sent a complaint to the CRTC and funny the Police have no clue what to do with this, but take information...Like thats going to help, way to use up my tax dollars on nothing!
Call this company folks and rip them apart, hell I might even take an Irate stroll on down there myself if this doesn't stop.
What?s IRIS Tel's response on this, apparently they are aware and cannot give out the information to who is doing this, they know who the numbers are listed too and have had many complaints, they claim to be looking into the matter, numbers you call for they customer service people seem like they are withholding information and afraid to talk !? Not sure what?s going on here or what kind of telecommunication scam this could be. The company is listed through Bell and Rogers and Global and IRIS Tel to some third party individual who they seem to be protecting from my understanding. I tell you one thing right now, at 6'6" 340 solid these guys are going to need some protecting if this keeps happening.
Log your calls in with your local police and give these numbers a call for these IRIS TEL idiots and let them know the police are aware of the situation.
This is harassment folks ,hit em where it hurts. I have no idea why you call this number 416 299 4521 get some stupid guy in Russia who then gives you a number to Beatrice in Romania 416-848-9804 customer care who sounds like she has a pistol at her head speaking to you scared to tell you information in some basement sewer sitting at a metal desk with one dim light above her head??..
Not sure what weird scamming ring is going on here, hope when you call them they can't trace your number and get your information through Bell or Rogers on your account as they are tapped through them basically cause that would be just nuts, but these days who knows, they are using VOIP phones which are through the internet . VoIP services convert your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. If they are calling your phone number, the signal is converted to a regular telephone signal before it reaches the destination. VoIP can allow you to make a call directly from a computer, a special VoIP phone, or a traditional phone connected to a special adapter. In addition, wireless "hot spots" in locations such as airports, parks, and cafes allow you to connect to the Internet and may enable you to use VoIP service wirelessly. IRIS Tel has subscribed the two numbers calling people to an individual whom they wish not to share information and claim they cannot stop the calls themselves?.?? If thet are the provider then this is not making any sense to me?
Give the Markham Office a ring and see where you get? I?ll be headed down there in person soon enough and be back to note my outcome!
