I got a call from this number, said she was an investigator Nora Whitaker, stating something about a criminial investigation on my phone # and ss number and gave some case # and said I had 24-72 hrs to respond or they (whoever they are) will file charges with my county.  OMG if this is a real collection agency they don't forewarn you before you get a summons!!!  They are scare tactics hoping you will respond in your fear and weakness.

Called looking for my husband. Said they were "Nationwide Legal Carrier Services." Gave me a phone number of 419-469-5933 and the name of the company was Investigative Check (something or other). They wanted to know when he would be home so that they could service him so that he would appear in court.

Unfortunately, I gave her his phone number. I immediately called him and told him not to answer the phone unless he knew who it was.

They called me at work. I was not happy.

They called me today same thing investigator whittacker she knew the last 4 of my SS# and told me I needed to call her back before charges were filed against me.

When I called this number back, it went to voice message which said, you have reach the desk of Laura Whittaker,  I would need your affidavit case number, please leave a message.

This number called and left a message saying,  my name is Laura Whittaker a private investigator.  She explained the call was to do with my sister in law mentioning her name and to call her back at the above number of 419-469-5933.  I am panicked by this and pray this is not some sick telemarketer who would really need to be locked up for a cruel way to do business.

They are called Internet Opportunity Group, and not only do they call on these numbers, they hijack telephone numbers and use them to call as well, so that you think a different company is calling. This is called spoofing. I have been getting calls from a number that is local to my area, and when I call it back the lady who owns the number says she never called me. It turns out they've hijacked her number to call me. The poor woman has been getting hostile phone calls from people who want her to stop calling them, and she hasn't done anything wrong! The woman has filed a complaint with the FCC, and I have as well. These people are scammers, stay away from them!!!

Unfortunately, these IOG callers - scammers- and other scam artists have several numbers they call from.  If you call back on any of their numbers, you are told to 'check the number you have called' or 'the number you have called is not  service'.

Hi Eric- while on hold-actually istening to the spiel from IOG, I went on the internet to check out IOG and came upon your post---thank you.  It was almost to the word the phrase I got from this guy.  He actually called me back to ask if I had been cut off-told him, no, I hung up, as I had checked on the internet and he is trying to scam me, then I hung up.  He called again...I did not pick up-have a call ID-He left me a very rude message stating I was another ignorant Canadian and that he had signed up his mother for this, so it was obviously not a scam!  His poor Mother.

We all need to be aware of these 'offers'-usually offered to those of us who are a tad financially desperate!-I am not a gullible person, having worked in corrections, but can only imagine those trusting, honest people who do fall for it.

The national do not call list doesn't work. I've hade my number on it for over a year and I still get calls from telemarketers. And to be honest, I get more now then I did befor my number was on the list. I have a cell phone. I use to get one telemarketer call once every couple of months, now it's one to four calls a day every day,even weekends.

Whoever this was, they knew my first and middle name and called me by that as if they knew me.  They called themselves Merchant (Solutions)  I am not sure about the last part but they said they had ran across my name as someone wanting to made money from home.  Since this place had called me multiple times I wanted to hear what they wanted so I played along.  Ok, they talked about Mastercard and Visa, then they asked how often a week I used my debit card.  I told them I didn't use it.  Then, they asked if I had $200 to investe in this business, they did not say doing what, and I said, "NO."  They immediately hung up and made no comment , no sound,  just a rude hang up.

DEFINATLY don't want or even hear about this SH*iT!

The goverment needs to put a stop to all these harassing phone calls. What good is having "The Do Not Call" block on my phone? They still call anyway! Nobody has a right to sell my phone number or give it away without my permission!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obvious call center noises in the background.  From this site, and others, I have marked all scam numbers that call me as scams... so, when they call, I simply answer the call in a foreign language.  They tend to not call back again.  :)  If they do call back, they still get the same language and give up.. Problem solved!   Hint: make sure it's obscure, like  Thai or Sudanese or pure nonsense.  If they try to call you with a translator, listen for an accent and switch languages.   :)

Funny thing about these baboons.    They must not be taking notes about who they call and when -  I just got another call and they started through the script as if they had never spoken to me before.

I went back on my notes and quoted them day, month, year, time, who I spoke with and what I had said to them.    I keep good notes.   I hate to be caught off guard by something as simple as a simple-minded baboon.

My answer was still the same.  No.  

They are also flogging this same gherkin on a number of very similar sites - new merchant solutions. full merchant funding, money now funding.    This must be the new craze in tele-scamming now.

I get called from this number on a daily basis, I answered once and the guy that called kept going on and on about how they were going to make me rich in a matter of months.  He said I can make about $4000 a day if I agree and a lot of other BS followed.  I told him I got a call from a guy almost a year ago and he tells me that that company went out of business and that is where he got my phone number from, also that he is the Executive Manager or Supervisor or something along that line and he doesn't usually make these phone calls but he wanted to talk to me directly and not have me deal with anyone else but him.  Like I was important, I told him that I was not interested and if he could stop calling me which is exactly what I told the other company that called a year before, after I managed to say that he wouldn't let me say another word.  He kept talking and I couldn't get another word in so I hung up, like give me a break!! I have three kids who are in sports, a husband who works long hours and I am on the go all the time, I don't have time to listen to BS when I have my kids to attend too, if these people had a brain they would learn to listen when someone says that they're not interested and especially if we said NO and then hang up on them.

Again with the calls.


They also have another company with an exact duplicate of the website for New Merchant Solutions but this one is under the name of Full Merchant Solutions.

Both sites were registered by the same person on the same day through the same hosting company.

I guess that's how they can get away with telling people that they will be given "an exclusive, protected area" and then still market within that area using a different company.    

...so there are probably others as well.

This is a version of a scam going around to businesses and business owners.  They try and sign you up on some kind of web site and "licensing" to offer credit card processing advances (loans against their future credit card sales).

$299 application fee
$499 to "License you" (LLC in their state)
$30 monthly "hosting fee" for your 'website' from them

They just pressure you for a card and any method of payment that they can get you to provide.

Calls daily. When I answer they hang up. They have been calling me Monday thru Friday for the last 3 weeks at around 3-3:15pm central. Same thing everyday. 8 seconds then call ended. Figuring it must be an automated dialed system. Still very irritating.

For those of you who have Verizon, you can block unwanted numbers from calling your phone by contacting the Technical Support #1-800-922-0204.  The block is only good for 3 months and then you have to call and add them back on to the list if they start calling again.  You can also go call the National Do Not Call number (1-888-382-1222) and add your phone number to that list.  Not sure how long your number will stay on that list but it does help.

Well this number been calling me the past few days mostly been hang ups.  Today I got to talk to these idiots.  Conversation want as follows.
Hi Eric how are you,  i'm OK.  Hey a while ago you expressed an interest in our work from home business.  No, no I did not, I have no clue of who your company is.   Ooh,  um-mm well if I could show you a work from home system that works with very little investment would you be interested. No no I would not take me off your list,  clunk.

About 6 years ago I thought a work from home thing would be cool.  However I got ripped off by the first one.  The scam is hey for x number of dollars we will build you a website and drive traffic your way. I lost about 6k up front doing this.  Oh I sued them, but they filed bankruptcy.  Guess what they sold my name to to whoever would buy it.  6 years later I still get work at home phone calls.
