The FTC stated that one company behind this is Ambrosia Web Design based in Mesa Arizona.  They said the key player is a Chris Ambrosia but his information is well hidden. However they said that they found who they thought is his wife in Mesa - Lynette A Ambrosia and her cell number is 480-507-8801.  Caveat I cannot verify this but you have to wonder how many Ambrosias are in Mesa Arizona.  It would be nice to find a way to bother these people as much as they have bothered us.

I recently added my phone to the do not call list and I began to immediately began receiving automated telemarketing phone calls. I believe unscrupulous firms use the list as a call list!

Like others, I'm on the Do Not Call list but keep on getting these unwanted marketing calls.  I urge you to do what I do - report these people to the Do Not Call complaint register.  It only takes about 60 seconds to do this.  If the Do Not Call people are bombarded with complaints, they will go after these guys.   Click on this link and let's get these %#@^% put out of business!       https://complaints.donotcall.gov

Hey Folks!! You got this ALL WRONG!
Remember the saying, ?Time is Money??
Beat them at their own game. If you get an actual person, keep them on the line as long as you can. This may take you 2 to 5 minutes, but I?ll guarantee they will remove you from their list.
Play DUMB and be a YES person so they think you?re a sucker!
They ask for your credit card? Tell them you have to get your wallet in the other room, don?t leave them holding for more than 15 secound, or they will hang up and keep calling. NEXT:
Give them your credit card number, but mix up a few numbers. Then ask them to read it back to you. After they do that say it?s wrong. Give it to them again, and again mix up some other numbers, Talk slow and take your time.
After 2 or 3 times of repeating the numbers, they will know you are screwing with them and hang up.
Keep in mind they are paying for the phone call by the minute, plus they are paying someone to get your info. ?Time is Money?
They will remove you from their ?Do Not Call List?, because you are costing them money!
As for our government, you can count on them to Collect Taxes and give it away, that?s about it!

When I get a call from these jackwagons, I answer politely.  I then throw the biggest potato chip in my mouth and crunch as loudly as I possible can with my mouth open.  Then I start yelling at someone who isn't even there, start yawning while I am talking, flush the toilet and walk away.  I even hit the smoke alarm button to get it to go off.  Usually, 99% of the time they hang up.  Some don't even call my house back because of it.  Works like a charm.  I figure if I can't get it to stop by asking them nicely or filing complaints, then I might as well be as rude as I possibly can.  The Whoopie cushion machine works well also.

I have received 4 calls from these jerks. The one today woke me from a sound sleep. I am on the National Do Not Call list. They always say "This is our last call to offer you this opportunity to reduce your credit card rates" but it never is. Also, they say "Press 1 to speak to a representative" and "Press [whatever] to be removed from our list." It never works. I always pay my bills in full so have to interest problem.

Let us agree to disagree. The Do Not Call has reduced the number of unwanted calls from legitimate telemarketers. I does not stop the criminals. Eliminating the DNC in my opinion would be the same as eliminating the DEA since drug runners don't obey the laws anyway.

The FTC just took down 5 of these scum suckers. Obviously they have a lot more to go.
http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2012/11/robocalls.shtm

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1.    Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list.
2.    Consider blocking the number
3.    Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4.    Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5.    People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office.
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

I have greatly reduced the number of calls to my cell phones by going to my carriers website (Verizon) and they allow me to block up to 5 numbers for 90 days. Since these scum change numbers every 30 I have had a very peaceful time. Call me once shame on you, call me twice shame on me. I also put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they won't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). This is only a whack-a-mole solution however it is the only one I can offer.
If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls. You can also see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge to other phone providers and to it's customers as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
Many of the disposable numbers come from Pacific Telecom Communications Group and they are currently under investigation and in the midst of various lawsuits. (The principles involved have been part of actions by the FCC under other business names). Here is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how this company is getting away with this activity.

The Federal Do Not Call Registry is 100% useless!!  Save your breath.  Since this bogus Do Not Call registry started, the # of complaints has NOT decreased, rather is has skyrocketed from 65,000 in October 2010 to over 212,000 in April 2012. Complaints from people asking telemarketers to stop (beyond registry complaints) rose from 71,000 to 182,000. Despite these crazy increases, the FTC says the registry is doing an effective job fighting unwanted sales calls. "It's absolutely working," Lois Greisman, associate director of the agency's marketing & practices division said in an interview with the AP. So this is the line of BULLSH!T we get from an incompetent beauracrat at the Department of Redundancy Department! I wish I had her home number. This registry should be eliminated since they are less effective than to registry at all! The numbers -- FACTS -- tell the story & they don't lie!

I believe if you call a Sherri Ambrosia in Rockford Illinois and ask her to give you her brother Chris' telephone number in Mesa Arizona, she may get fed up enough being bothered (like we are by Rachael and Ann) and perhaps will be kind enough to pass it along.

This number calls constantly.  Normally, I just hang up.  Today, I pressed the number to be connected with a live agent.  As soon as he answered, he said, in a voice so rapid I could barely understand him, "Would you like to lower your interest rate today?"  I said, "No, actually, I'd like to find out how to have my number removed from your calling list," and he hung up.  I tried calling the number back and got a message saying, "At the customer's request, this number does not accept incoming calls."  I agree with some of these posts regarding the Do Not Call list.  Why can't someone do something about these scam calls.  This is only one of many we receive.

I live 15 minutes from where this call was "supposed" to be from, so naturally I answered it thinking it could be family or a friend calling in need of assistance (seeing how we are being pelted with a snow storm from Hurricane Sandy) WRONG! "Card Member Services" and "this is my final notice". Yeah, whatever, lie to me some more. Stupid woman on the other end picked up when I pressed one. I politely said "PLEASE stop calling my house." Her reply "Mam, do you not understand what this call is about?" WELL..... OF COURSE I DO! IDIOTS! You want my credit card number (of which I do not even have) so you can reem me a new sphincter! After I told the lady the FIFTH time to stop calling me DAILY, she hung up. Would love to run into these people and slap some stupid into them, because they are WAY beyond stupid, and stupid might actually be an improvement for them! I know people have to work and make money, but I couldn't bare to do that kind of work and harrass people the way they do!

Credit card scam. Bottom feeder named "Card Member Services." They've fornicated my phone several times previously. This time, "David" offered to decrease my card's interest rate by a value that even a Presidential candidate (take your pick) wouldn't dare to claim. Before he could finish his lie, I told him "F*@_Y**  !!!. You're a scam. Don't call back." Poor lowlife gent - couldn't return the insults he bestowed upon other victims in this thread. Let's hope that his manly failure inspired him to get a real job. To quote Bruce Willis, as John McClane, "Yippee kuy yuy yeah, mf !!"
