same here. i encounter the same problem as urs too. they just called and told me the same thing. their voices are more likely to be indian.

I declined but gave my rarely used email add to get their details. They're pretending to be from UK but without any british accent. I think Indian. Here's their email:

I received a missed call from this number, tried to call it back but was unable to get through.  They did leave a voice message stating that they are from a company called CV24-7  and they found my CV on a jobsite and they would like to discuss further. I checked the 24-7 website and it looks legitimate, so I called them back out of curiosity (I had already looked at this page beforehand) where you could hear the call being diverted which I think went to India.
The strange thing was that when I asked them which jobsite they got my CV from they mentioned confidentiality and are unwilling to disclose this info. They had clearly seen my CV and did indeed mention some points for improvement, and they offered professional CV services for 50 GBP which is I think extremely low for a service like this although I am no expert.
The Call diverting, failure to mention where they received my CV from,  Indian accent, low cost for a service like this, and previous messages on this board for this number makes me think it could be a scam, and certainly will not be someone I shall be contacting again, even if I was looking for this service.

The same number called two IP phone numbers and allso two cell numbers in my office today.
The person claimed to call from a office brach in Belguim wanted to get info from outlook regarding a given person. He had no access to access to internet in his given location, hence not able to look into it himself.

I also received two phone calls from this number. The lady claims she needs an e-mail adress to one of our executives, saying she wants to send him an invitation to some event. The paradox in here is, that the e-mail she is asking for is publicly available on company web. She only says her first name, she does not even say from which company she is calling. I once tried to call back the number, but it proved to be impossible, as my telephone claims the number is "typed wrong". What a waste of time...

I've had 2 calls from the same number: one on Friday and one today (Monday) -  I'm in Singapore. The first caller (a woman) said she had a job I could be interested in and was insistent on getting my email address - I declined and she was so unhappy about it.  I asked her - 'how did you get my details, from LinkedIn'?  She said 'oh, yes'.

The second call (a male) was asking for a guy in another department - saying he had an important presentation he was trying to complete and needed to speak to my colleague in a hurry.  He was insistent that I transfer the call to the colleague or to give him the direct number - I didn't, it's against policy. I politely asked for his details so I could pass on the message, but he didn't want to give me his details - anyway I have their number from calling number display so I can ignore all future calls.

I believe they are just going through LinkedIn and are trying to build a database on you/your colleagues. If this is Standard Chartered recruitment efforts (or an agency working on their behalf) I'll be writing to SC and letting them know its annoying and a poor reflection of business conduct.

Yup!!! Everyone please be aware of this lady, I just received exactly thesame call saying exactly the same words from the number +4248430685. they are the professional cheater saying that she is your potential client and working on a organisational chart for your cooperate office. she said she is now in the middle of the meeting and her outlook is down and so need your very urgent assistance on providing the names of the HR team members. she is insane and so tricky, so please give her the fire station number to fool her.

I got also a few telephone calls coming from this number 4248430685. I cannot find out from which country he is calling as 42 or 424 are non existing countrynumbers. He wants me to spell my own name, which of course I don't. He also invited me to an exhibition.

We've also had this number with people asking for details of a person in Singapore for a presentation.  They gave a fake email address and name.

Social engineering attempts are eminating from this number.

An attacker may use more than one person in an organization to compile a complete profile of the data that they need to infiltrate a computer network. Providing even one piece of information about yourself or your company can be used for malicious purposes. Social engineers can piece together the puzzle by making repeated attempts with various targets to get the answers they need.

Never give out names of other individuals in the organization, phone numbers, physical addresses or email addresses.

got a phone call from this number, a lady with Indian accent asking me about my CV and my company. then she offered me a permanent job in Switzerland but when i told her that i was a contractor the job was suddenly a contacting job! she agreed with all my requirements and daily rate and got her to make a mistake as she didn't understand the currency in Switzerland. every time she told me if it was ok for the senior consultant to call me back. this is the email she send to me;

Same thing here, calling for our Company Action officer.  Had some staff names.  Claimed to be working on a "presentation" for our Legal Department.  Claimed to be one of our "biggest clients" would not give his company name until asked several times, then came up with obviously fake name.  Called back several times asking same questions.  Claimed to be calling from the London office and had to have names today.  Definately East Indian male caller.  After I advised that our Company president had forbidden me to release names he hung up.

Calling from +1 424 843 0685.  This lady keeps pretending that she needs help with her blackberry/computer. But she's asking us to look for certain people inside cost centers? Haha.. What the! She keeps calling, change her name and try hard to have a British accent. Please, if you can read this, Linda, Amy or whoever you are, if you are working for someone else, please, at least, recommend to your boss to change your strategy, coz obviously, it is not working. And yeah, more pratice on your brit accent, you're almost there, Ms. Sterious caller.

Be careful. This lady is just phishing for information about some employees from higher management. Last time, I gave her the number for Pizza Hut delivery.. lol..

I received a call from this number and the woman asked me politely about the 10 names along with their email add and phone numbers. She is convinced me that she ones of the Project Manager and try to managing meeting in my country. She said that she is my company's staff in London. Anyway I was hypnotized by her and gave her ten people with their number as well as their email address.

I got a call from 4248430685, they asked for my personal mobile no. and did not want working personal mobile no., also they asked for my personal email no., claiming the owner of their establishment wants to send me confidential information , this is the second time they call me, each time by different person.

I got a similar call today. He sounded like an Indian and identified himself as Richard.
He spoke pretty slowly. He happened to know my Name and Company and designation. He said when he called in to customer service, someone had referred him to me. He mentioned that he is presently overseas and would like me to contact him once he's back to Singapore. He even took down my email address and asked for my Surname for his own reference.
This is scary. What is this person trying to do?

Somebody appears to be trying to compile a list of names--phishing attack. Referencing company and title.

Also worth noting that the number is not valid--424 is showing as an international number, not an area code.

This person called asking me to look the Microsoft Outlook for names of people within the compnay of where I work. I pretended to type names in and told the gentleman the people he was looking for were not in our system, as I am not allowed to give information out to callers.

Got a call from this number, identified himself as John, sounded like an Indian male voice. He knew my name and designation.
