Hi I got a call from this number  on my cell ph, was an Indian man saying he was from Microsoft and they got error reports
from my computer and it is infected. I stopped him and said, your calling from a non us number,   Im not on the computer
told him don't call me again.

The number is spoofed  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing  so the caller can be anywhere.

what number what state is this number 1(425)000 this nr is calling over and over .

We'll the politicians are out in force, this number has called me twice in the last 30 min. One message was for Obama, the other was for Romney. Still on the fence with this one as both are disappointing and now I will have to decide the lesser of two evils.

Seems both party's are using the same service to get their message out.

Wish for just once a candidate would get up and give no smoke and mirrors, but an actual plan to make make change that reduced debt, helps all americans and simplifies things. Forget the stupid party lines, be a candidate for americans, not the parties or companies.

yes me too, yesterday that number called me 4x and i was return call but not completed..maybe that number is using to call somebody so that it will charge for our minutes load especially if you buying only card....you will deducted authomatically when you answered or return calls..thats why we need ignore it ...

i keep getting this call on a regular basis and wondering who is calling me..the caller id says Washington Call with a number of 1-425-000-0000

Anybody seen this?

Ditto - we have gotten over a dozen calls in 24 hours from this humber. Caller ID says 'unknown name' - Any ideas anyone? The phone company's customer service isn't open today so they can't help.

I have gotten at least 7 calls from 425-000-0000 on my cell phone in the last 2 days. they don't leave a message. I am on the no call list. Now today, I have missed calls from 425-000-4321, also on my cell phone. If I call it back, there is a recording that says it is not a working number for both numbers. Very annoying.

Okay, I finally answered one and my guess was right. This call was asking me to vote for D**** B*****. I (not too politely) told them never to call me again.

Keep in mind, though, that several politicians may subscribe to the same "service" and all will appear to come from 425-000-0000.

Me too. Three or four times a day, late afternoon and evening. Started a couple of days ago.

My guess is it a politician who's subscribed to a repertory dialer service. They place automated calls to hundreds of numbers. When and if you answer, the dialer tries to connect you with a recorded message or a live person. If the recorder or person is not available you get dead air and they keep you on the list to keep trying.

Qwest and others offer this "service" for pay.

If it is a politician, this should cease on August 19th, the day of the primary election. However, expect it to start again a few weeks before the general election.

Get calls from this number at 5:30 pm a couple times a week, dead air.

This number has called my phone multiple times.  I have answered it twice.  It has hung up after about a minute both times, without any message or human voice.
