I received about 50 messages on Saturday and when I tried to talk to someone in a Tmobile store today, I was redirected to another store! They had only two representatives there and it was taking them forever so I had to rush to work. I tried to contact someone online and when I finally got hold of an agent, I was told that there was going to be a CHARGE for it! I don't understand why I should pay when I did NOTHING. I didn't provide my number to any website online or pass it around so why do I have to pay for it? It would have been fine if I had unlimited text plan but now not only do I have to pay 20 cents for each of those messages but pay for crossing the text limit! This is just preposterous!!!

1. Send these complaints to:
abuse@chase.com and to your phone service providers CORPORATE HEAD OFFICE not customer service only.
Writing on this forum is only helpful in that it lets others know they are not alone. It will not stop the problem if Chase doesn't know the full scope of the problem - ie. get hit with a ton of emails from angry customers. Copy and paste your forum response from this site into an email and send. Keep it short, sweet and constant.
2. Do the same with the FCC:
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/#howtocomplain
File a complaint. If you receive an unwanted commercial text message on your wireless phone, you can also file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission by filing out Form 1088, available online at www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints or calling 1-888-CALL FCC (1-888-225-5322).
3. Finally contact the United States Attorney General
General Information Office of Attorney General
Eric H. Holder, Jr
Attorney General
Contact
Office of the Attorney General
(202) 514-2001
E-mails to the Department of Justice, including the Attorney General, may be sent to AskDOJ@usdoj.gov. E-mails will be forwarded to the responsible Department of Justice component for appropriate handling.
(It seems like a lot of emails - but just copy and paste what you've said above and hit send.
Mass emails work - just look at what the one we've all gotten from JPM has caused)
4. Set up the filter if you can and spread the word wherever you can about this. Call your news station, newspaper, etc. to expose the situation.
5. If you are on Facebook or Twitter - write on the T-mobile Facebook wall each time you get a new spam text message and tweet it - Then they will understand the scope of the issue. Visuals are very convincing. http://www.facebook.com/TMobile#!/TMobile?v=wall

I got 50 text messages from them!!!!!! I replied stop, cancel, everything I could think of. Nothing helped ( I actually think it made it worse!) When i called the number from a landline, I got a message from the federal something and they said this was a scam message. And they probably wanted personal information. I'm with T-Mobile and from what i saw on T-mobile's website, it seems like this is happening to a lot of T-mobile customers in the NYC area (like me!). I haven't gotten any more messages from them in 24 hours so i think they've stopped for good (at least i'm hoping so!)

T-mobile reps are clueless, I called them and got the dumb chick who kept telling me what they can not do. So after digging around I realized changing my default mail from 4645352244@tmomail.net to somethingnew@tmomail.net effectively got me of the spammer's mailing list.
It works!
Call T-mobile and tell them to change it for you or change it your self at t-mobile website.
Ivana 2010-11-27 23:34:22 Unknown
there's no block button.
I stopped these texts by changing my default T-mobile email from myphonenumber@tmomail.net to mynewalias@tmomail.net I also reported this to FCC.
The reason you're getting it as a text is that the spammer is sending this from his email but t-mobile treats our text messages as an Inbox for out tmomail.net account.
Call T-mobile to change this email or do it your self at the t-mobile.com website.
It works!
If this was helpful to you, you can thank me here: http://www.facebook.com/venturesome :)
Ivana 2010-11-27 23:26:56 Unknown
change your email yournumber@tmomail.net to somethingelse@tmomail.net at t-mobile website, or call them to do it for you.
I stopped receiving the texts!
The reason is they're sending it from an email but it comes to people's phones as a text; your text is in effect you "inbox" so once you change it you're basically taking your self off of their spammer list.

now I am getting text from a yfm.com stating hi son please call me right away
stephanie 2010-11-27 18:35:54 SMS
I started getting these yesterday... every 2 minutes I'd get a different one and it went on for a few hours. then the message changed to a different one : "yfm@yfm.com /hi/ Hi son please call me at 01143820893320 . I need to speak with you now." This is getting ridiculous I had to turn off my phone because the text messaging was going off all night long.
Kay 2010-11-27 18:35:00 Unknown
its ridiculous, i also received 50 text messages from jpm... contact T-mobile immediately. They said they will try to block that number as soon as possible, but as of right now, i just told them to inactivate my text-messaging system so that i won't be charged for receiving those texts.
jeff 2010-11-27 18:15:51 Unknown
when i first got the messege on november 26,2010 i called and it was something about chase, and like a dumass it put my account number and pin....now i reported it fraud, and have to wait freakin 10 days for my debit card -_-
