Free scooter one day, next call its a free medical alert device.  Calls almost every other day.  Recorded voice.   Tried calling back this number -  out of order..  I am so frustrated with this telemarketer I could spit nails.  Am on do not call list for whatever good that seems to be doing.  These calls have been going on for months.  Can't anything be done?

I have received numerous calls from this number. and they even leave messages on my phone. He says his name is john and he calling about the medic alert device like the one seen to TV, for delivery. I answered and  tried to talk to him and told him that I didn't order or need it. but he just keeps on talking, so may be just a recording. All I know is they're pissing me off. The do not call list is a joke. They let scum like this continuously harass good people in there own homes.

I've gotten multiple calls from this number - I never answer as there's no legitimate reason for "Med Equip" to be calling me. Saved the number to my phone with 'no ring' selected as the ring tone.

How about putting everyone involved in this group from the top down into a cage 4X8 for a few days, and then taking everything they own and donating it to a worthy cause like the local Habitat For Humanity?  Then we can demand they work on every house built for the next 10 years?  What a bunch of scumbags.

Calls keep coming in on my telephone, too, from this number that shows up on my caller ID.

The national DoNotCall program does not seem to stop telemarketers any more. Has Congress stopped authorizing funding for the DoNotCall program?  -- or has it reduced funding to the point where telemarketers figure that they will not be charged or fined for making unwanted telemarketer calls like these?

Thanks to all who report the numbers here on 800notes.com.  It helps to be able to check calls that show up on Caller ID against numbers reported on the Web.

I have experienced the same exact thing from this shady business.
I just filled a complaint with "Do not call Registry", and they are the vehicle for complaints to the FTC:

I just received a call from 434-338-6817 at my office in Virginia. It sounded like he was live, and at first I thought he was just plain rude because he kept talking when I said repeatedly he'd reached the wrong company, but it was a recording promoting some kind of medical equipment. Absolutely annoying. I hung up before he finished.

These appear to be automated "robo" calls carefully crafted to appear as if there is a live person on the other end.  They are of two varieties - each from a male who says  his name is "John".  (1) An apparent attempt to scan senior into (a) receiving unordered medical alert equipment and/or (b) obtain info to facilitate identity theft.  The second variety is an offer of dental insurance.

I'm on the do-not-call list which, like some much other legislative business, is a paper tiger and not enforced.

Because of the dozens of unwanted calls weekly which violate the do-not-call list, I'm changing the announcement on my voice mail to say "Because of excessive numbers of unwanted calls in violation of the do-not-call list, all calls to this number will be answered by voice mail and only calls from family, friends, and firms with whom we do business will be returned.

I get these calls repeatedly, and I am tired of it.  You answer the phone and it's a pre-recorded message that sounds like a real person, but t hey just keep talking.  They say they need to deliver my medical alert package.  So tired of these numbers calling me all the time!!!

The reason he talks over you is that it is actually a recording--just pitched to seem like a live person. When the guy kept talking over my polite attempts to get him off the line, I got colorful, and he didn't even hesitate. Some of the stuff I said would have made a sailor blush, so it's clear to me it's just a recording.

I filed a complaint with the FTC consumer protection website.  If many of us do it maybe they'll respond.  And yes, I almost thought someone had provided me this, but didn't fall for it in the end.  I hope others don't.

I have been receiving these calls well over 6 weeks as they show up on my caller ID - the first time I picked up and asked politely for them to take my name off the list - I was not so nice today as to get them to go away and was told they could not remove my name - how does one take care of this....I'm on the DO NOT CALL list - does that not work any longer???  If you have any ideas of how to rid this annoyance, please post

We are on DO NOT CALL list.  Have rec'd this "emergency medical system" call twice in three days.  If you try to speak, as I did when I already knew it was recorded, call is programmed to respond to you as if live human is on the line with you.  So I hit "1" as directed if I was interested in this "already paid for" alert system and, after two minutes of lovely classical music, got "Sam" on the line.  I instantly asked, in my friendliest voice, for Sam's last name, which he gave as "Samarra," and I'm sure neither name is actually his.  I asked, again sweetly, to speak to his supervisor.  After a big runaround, during which he asked what the nature of my difficulty was, he said he DID have a supervisor and ultimately said he would "see if he could find" that person, and naturally, the line then went dead.  Sam also told me, while audibly chomping his gum, that they were located in New York, and I now know it's a Lynchburg telemarketer's line.

I'm hoping they call again.  This time I'll have a ref's whistle to blow into the phone when a real person answers to take my "order."  I'm also contacting the Better Business Bureau.  These people are evil scammers who prey on the elderly, a group of which I'm not yet a member.

Suggestion to all of those who get these unwanted calls.  Contact your local telephone company and threaten to sue them or get another service since it is them who give these creeps their numbers to call you.  I personally don't answer any call from an outside area code unless I know personally who it is.  As a business owner I miss a few legitimate calls that way but they always leave a message and I return their calls and apologize for a** holes that have nothing better to do than bother us.  I keep a telephone log of all incoming calls and am going to turn them over to someone who'll try to block or stop them from calling me.  My telephone company, Verizon, has already been alerted that if they don't stop giving these numbers out I'll be looking into another service (not that any others are any better since they all do it).  Another resolve is calling your telephone company every time you get one of these calls right after then call you no matter what time of the day it is.  If that doesn't work contact the Better Business Bureau and log a complaint against your telephone company whether or not they give out the numbers.  all they seem to care about is the almighty buck - surely not about their legitimate customers.
