Answered to find some woman speaking in spanish. Only I got was something about dinero

didn't answer. when i called back it has a message of being disconnected.

These b****eads call about once every two weeks...always on my compamy blackberry.  Like I've nothing better to do than answer the phone for an assault on my bank account in Spanish.

BRING BACK THE ROTARY PHONE SO WE DON'T HAVE TO PRESS ONE FOR ENGLISH.

just got a call from this number, I let it go to voicemail and since I did not recognize the number. The only word left on my voicemail was "dinero" which is "money" in spanish. I called the number back 1 min after they called me and the message said the number was disconnected or no longer in service. I am from TX and I show the number coming from Ohio. Why does the phone companies allow a number to be used that is according to "them" disconnected? Anyway take care

got the same number this last night listened to message, something about "the secretary was out" I would like to find out who they are and SHOOT THEM!!  I keep telling "DO NOT CALL LIST" about it but it does not seem to help as there are also other numbers but thank GOD for this website.  1-440-998-8989

Just received a call from this number to my cell phone. I do not answer unfamiliar numbers so i clicked ignore. No message was left.

Missed call from this number. No message. didn't attempt to call back.

Called while I was at work so I didn't answer.  Wish I knew how they got the number, I never give it out and my number from Whitehorse, Yukon, thousands of miles away from Ohio and in a different country.

Got a call from this number around 11:30 on my cell. Answered it and recording told me I had won 2006 travel dollars and to press 1 to accept. I hung up. Only a couple people have my cell number. How did they get my number?

Same as above.  It was on my work number though.

I got a midday call from 440-998-8989. I was dumb enough to answer it, when I heard the recording about winning 2600 travel points, I hung up, very annoyed because hardly anyone has my phone number.
Are you sure they just dial randomly? If not, I will be calling my service provider and asking who they are selling my phone number to.

Same as "A" above, but after claiming that my phone number had "won" 2600 whatever, the recording wanted me to press a key. Don't remember which one, couldn't care less. I just hung up.
It's obviously a scam (telemarketing or otherwise, it's all the same to me).

You just DON'T get something for nothing and someone is preying upon the gullible.

BTW: They don't have to "get" your number. They just automatically dial every number in sequence. Depending upon what the machine "hears", it either starts the message or determines that it was a voice-mail, fax, etc. and MAY flag that number for another attempt or mark it as invalid. If they're outside the U.S. or Canada, OUR governments can't stop the bas***ds from wasting our time & air-time... but the phone companies love it.

Automated voice saying "Congratulations you have won 2600 travel dollars" or something.. British accent... Then I was transferred to some guy with a really thick east Indian accent which I could barely understand. Then he said something about Jamaica, and asked if I was over 23 years old, which I said no, then he hung up.

I just got a call on my Rogers cell-phone from this number. Didn't answer it. (How are they getting cell numbers?)

does anyone actually know who they are..i dont need travel points and i dont know why it is on my cell phone. i have been getting lots of new solicitaions with my cell phone lately and i dont know why. i do not give that information out.

Got a call from this #.  Didn't pick up because of unknown area code.

Didn't recognize number, didn't pick up phone.....listened to message later.

Message was in English and computerized, but who it was from was conveniently cut off.  The message starts at "...syndicate.  Your phone number is the winner of 2600 travel dollars, please press 1 to accept now"

I deleted it without any further action.

didn't anwer call.  don't know the people or company and don't want to be charged.

They called did not leave messege this is a scam to charge your phone...

Just received same, didn't answer. called back and operator said the number was no longer working - this was 5 minutes after i called back.

Just received a call from this same number. Did not answer because I don't generally answer when a call comes from an unknown area code. Did a reverse lookup ion whitepages.com an and it came up as beeing from Ashtabula Ohio.

Auto message dialer in Spanish.  My call back attempt was not answered.

just got a call 122809 at 2:39p central i didnt answer and no message was left.
