Zach is only hiding behind the Texas State Troopers Association name to try and seem legit.  But as of today, he is calling using the company name THE VAN METER COMPANY.  He is a pushy, rude SOB who throws a fit when he doesn't reach the person he wants.  He lied to try and get through to someone I work with by saying he had a "conference call with him at 10:30" today.  Funny loser, he doesn't know you and you don't have a conference call!  And, crybaby, if you had a conference call, why did you hang up?  What a waste of life these thieves and scammers are!  Isn't it funny how anyone who calls these days claims to be a charity!

Ihave two dps friends and it is definately a scam.  They have never given that they are aware of, nor do the promote the organization.  A asked why they pass themselves off as troopers.  I was told that is part of the scam.  They are not allowed to do this.

I did not pick-up the phone

I got a call from him at my office. He asked for my boss, and I asked who is calling he said Zackary Vanmeter, I said where are you calling from, he said some place, I said and what is this about, he said my boss was expecting his call. I turned to my boss and asked if he knew him (without putting the phone on hold) my boss said no and my other boss said "Sales call" so I said "he is busy do you want to leave him a message?" He SCREAMED at me "YOU ARE LYING! NOW PUT HIM ON THE PHONE NOW THANKS!" I said "Uh, no thats okay because you're an a**hole. Thanks" click.

the texas state troopers Association is a great organization and give more than most organizaions they are a good cause. they are backed by the atorney general. they did get checked on and found every thing was good about them and the statements about them where false. i back them 100%

you people are idiots. the texas state troopers has been around since 1984 they have been helpping state troopers and their families. yall dont know rhe first thing about this org. if they were scam they would have been shut down  a long time ago. thier are manny orgs that give 5 % of their funds like the cancer society. but the state troopers recieve at least 40% of the funds.

Called 7:11 pm, 4/02/2008 asked for my husband by first name.  I said, who is this?  He said, tell "?" that Derrick called and you can tell him to quit messing around with name that could be either a woman or man's name.  About 3 weeks prior the STATE TROOPER group called, asked for my husband by his first name, and it sounded like same guy.

My mother called me this week because she has been getting bobmarded by calls from this person.  Coincidentally, he has the same last name as my ex, so my mother was concerned that someone in his family was trying to reach us.  I was not familiar with anyone by that name, so we let it go...until today when he called me.  When I answered they hung up, so I called back and got the "voicemail full" message.

Called and I answered right away... No response, they hung up. So i tried calling back and got this voice mail saying it was full. Then did a reverse phone look up to find out its a cell phone registered to Zackar Vanmeter through T-MOBILE. Googled the number out of curiosity and found this site and many others

My 'nightmare' with these people started today.  Below is the call history in just a few hours.  Like others, I made the mistake of falling for their crap and advised they would need to send me something in the mail to know that it was 'legit' before I would make a contribution.  

I saw on this site where they were being investigated by nbci5 news.

On the last call tonight, I answered the phone and when I asked who was calling, the voice responded 'Texas Trooper Association' - I asked that they stop calling my number, that I considered them to be a 'scam' and the caller got almost borderline hostile with me and replied (quote) 'if this is a scam, you can buy a gun and shoot me down right now'.  Now, does THAT sound like anything or anyone that would be legitimately sponsored by a state Trooper's orgainization!??

I will report this to the proper state offices for telemarketing HARRASSMENT.  Below is my call log, just to share the numbers and Caller ID if this helps.

Get several calls from this number each month. As with all other ringing numbers, if I don't recognize who is calling I don't answer.

tHEY CALLED ME ONCE BUT I COULDNT GET TO THE PHONE IN TIME

When I answered a call from this number today the man said he was with the Texas State Troopers Association. As I was telling him this wasn't a good time he hung up on me. Beware of these scammers!!!!

This is a telemarketing company that owns the name "Texas State Troopers Association" and claims to raise funds for troopers and their families.  However the vast majority of the donations go to the owners of the telemarketing operation.  They dole out a little money to a trooper's family now and then -- very little.  The Texas Attorney General is investigating this scam.  Sometimes the caller pretends to be a trooper, but he's actually a slick-talking telemarketer.

I was wondering who this was, and looking at this site, i experienced the same thing others have.  I did answer the phone, but the system or caller hung up.

These people just called me saying they're with the Texas State Trooper Association.  When I asked for a return call number for verification, they couldn't give me one.  It's a shame they don't give money to the Troopers' families.  Don't they know Zackar Vanmeter shows up on the caller ID and people watch the news. Don't give them any information!  If they call you, call block or let them know that you've reported them to the Texas State Troopers and you are recording the conversation.

Calls once or twice a week and then keeps asking for my grandmother saying they know her but she doesnt know them, personally i would love to know who has the big brass ones to say there the texas state troopers that takes some big ones in my book
