I received their letter...some rubbish about their 'futile efforts' to contact me. And, that this would be their last attempt to do so. What a complete bunch of crap!

According to the FTC, this murky outfit are nothing but crooks and scumbags
with a long history of ripping people off.

They skate along with the notion that it is your own greed that snares you, not them. To some extent, yes, they're right, if you believe you'll gain, and there is such a thing as a free lunch afterall. By all means go get ripped off. These are the people who'll acommodate you.

They were refered to in a government investigative document as 'shameless', and
'bottomfeeders', taking full advantage of specific loopholes in regulations and laws to rip decent people off.

I got the same letter yesterday with the same phone number. As soon as I read it i google'd it.   I have my own special way of gettong back at scammers.  I called thier number and blew my air horn into the phone.  I keep one in the drawer on my phone table for when telemarketers call.  I know its mean but sorry people, you try and F with me I'll F back 100 fold!  I hope the douche goes deaf from my horn, serves them right for trying to scam people.

I have a fun way to get back at people who send me junk mail with business reply envelopes too.  I shred thier documents and send it back to them in thier prepaid envelope.  I know its silly but its still fun.

got the letter, and laughed, as an airline pilot, I don't need free tickets, so I would never sign up for that... thought it would be funny to check into it on line.  I hope no one gets burned!

I actually received the same letter and hesitated to call but I did anyway cause I thought i could use them for like a spring break trip.  They were very nice and I had to listen to a presentation and watch a video....i didn't buy anything since funds are tight but I did get my airline tickets at the end. I didnt' want to show them my credit card so I just covered up my numbers.

Hi Folks,

I called and have made an appointment. I read these comments after doing that and so I called back and asked if they are affiliated with RCI timeshares and if I would have to purchase anything to get these tickets. He said no in both cases. I am with RCI and have been for years and they are one of the very best in the industry. We have traveled to fabulois resorts and stay a week at a time for free. Awesome!

He said it would not cost me anything to get the tickets and I don't have to buy anything. I do have to bring a phot ID and a credit card. That part is scary.

Anybody know anything else???

They are a travel club. It's like a timeshare deal. You go, watch their presentation. You get a voucher for two free tickets.

Their program is a lot better than any time share program I've ever seen. You pay $9995 one time fee then $269 per year maint. fee and then you get four weeks at an RCI resort for $499 per week for a one bedroom. You only pay the $499 for the weeks you use. There were a bunch of other things included.
I bought a membership.

OK   I got a letter telling me I won 2 free airline tickets in the continental USA worth up to $1400.oo No return address on the letter, but mailed from Toledo, Ohio as seem by the cancellation of the postage stamp. The outfit is supposedly located in Phoenix, funny thing I live in a burb of Phoenix. I could not find any other info about this on the web. What happens when you call the number to clain your free tickets?

No call... but I got the letter with the same phone#. To me, anything sent on "stationery" that printed out on a cheap color desktop printer is as good as printed on toilet paper.

You know... if you're sure it's a scam and it came through the mail, I think it is recognized as "mail fraud" with the Federal Postal Inspectors. I got rid of a nasty magazine company by filing for mail fraud. It shut them up fast!

I got the same letter and phone calls.  There is a good "consumer beware" article posted by abc15.com:

I've copied it here in case the above link goes inactive:

They come in the mail and are full of appealing words. The letter reads "I'm pleased to inform you have qualified for a reward of 2 airline tickets. Congratulations."

It intrigued Robert Foxworth who received the letter because it promises up to a $1400 value.

The letters come from a company called Haworth Campbell or one named Stewart Collins. Both have the same Phoenix post office box. We found dozens of people are questioning the letters on the internet.
There's no mention of cost. So what do you really get?

We asked Robert to call the number in the letter. It turns out it's a pitch from a travel club called Vacation Network.

We attended the sales pitch with Robert. And we expected to get the airline tickets afterwards for listening. Instead, we got a registration folder demanding $100 bucks and a $4.95 processing charge.

"Ewww, I thought that's not free, you know that's really cheesy," says Cie Scott.

Cie says she and her husband went to a similar pitch months ago in Glendale and paid $135 for "free tickets."

"Did I get the airline tickets? No, I didn't even get a follow up," Cie says.

That company was not Vacation Network. But recently, Cie says she got a letter from them and went to hear the pitch.

"Surprise, surprise, the guy who's the sales manager happens to be the same guy from the other one. The guy who was the manager there was the manager here," she says.

This time, Cie says she didn't get a promised $100 gas card either.
Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard received a similar call.

"The prospect of a $1400 round-trip ticket for no effort on your part? As soon as I see that all the alarm bells go off and I say what's the catch, because I know there is one," Goddard says.

At their Scottsdale address, a Vacation Network manager defended the fee. He says it pays for taxes. He also says the incentive is handled by a different company. And he says the letters contain the words "certain restrictions apply" which means there could be costs involved.

Cie and her husband received a letter from the gas card business. It says they didn't follow the rules, so the card is invalid. The couple says they did everything right.
Bottom line, even if something says "award", expect it will cost you one way or another.
