Hello my mother who is 72 yr has been talking to this man she even told my elderly father that she was leaving to live with this man named Bruce Lanfried. He asked her to send him 4,000 last week and she tried but homeland security stoped it thank god . She is totally confused with this scamer I wish someone could call her and try to explain to her I can't get thru to her.Her Name is Shirley and number is 209-968-6666

Sweetie, don't believe anything he says. He's been scamming me too! I fell in love with another guy (not this one) and he scammed me out of $4,000 that I am still trying to get back. I am a single Mom out of work and used my credit card!!!! This is what I know about the fake Bruce:

Lanfried in Carson, CA the lady I spoke with says the real Bruce is thin, tall and bald-headed. The pictures the fake Bruce sent me he was NOT bald! Thanks Ladies, I will now not be taking his calls any more. Don't trust him! He is a liar and a thief! Don't let him take your money or your heart! Yes, the one I've been talking to knows his Bible very well and uses it scam women! God will judge him accordingly. Don't fall for his sexy, French voice! I met him on AYI too!

We have all been talking to same guy..I called the real Bruce Lanfried from Carson,CA and let him know his name was being used.
"Fake Bruce" was on Facebook with pictures he had sent me of 'Himself" but they are of Facebook now.
When he ws calling me Feb-March he was using the 619 number.

Also he now is using a phone number with 619 area code. When I reverse called it is a supposed home phone out of San Diego. At times it would say it is a magic jack phone subscriber...

I think this man is the same I've been talking to since 2/21/14 or so. Now he goes by Bruce H. Lanfried (who is a legitimate business owner from Carson, CA). I Googled it. Not that it did any good, since he is obviously using another man's good name. Met him on AYI, a dating sight, short for 'are you interested'. So much of story is the same...Thank you and others for this post. I am incredibly grateful for your info and knowledge regarding this matter.

Man named Reid Donnald. Aka Donna Reid, Donald Reid, met me on eHarmony. Very knowledgable about the Bible. Claims to be born in Ohio, raised in France since 7 until age 25 or 26. Schooled in Paris. Mother French, father American (petroleum engineer). Claims he went to Cardiff University in Wales. A civil engineer. Father died in car accident when RD was 25. Mother and him moved to Ohio for 6 years, then to Pennsylvania for another 6 years. She passed away last year.
Now lives in Texas. However, he got "kicked" off eHarmony for supposedly trying to down load one of my picks. Had date set up for a few Saturday nights ago. He gets called to San Diego for a conference of engineers by project management company. And lo and behold, Reid gets a the bid for an emergency fix to a damaged oil dam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Will be gone for two weeks.
He calls me every day and night. Falls in love with me quickly. Very romantic, very charming, very sexy man.
Dealing with "workers" that must sign when the job is done. This is the only way the huge contract he is getting paid will allow the funds to be released by the government. Then one day the local community that claim the dams are damaging their water supply come to demand $50K. He negotiates to $30K, but is now short funds to pay the "workers", as all of his other money has been spent on the rental of the machines, and the supplies for the dam. The government will not release his contract payment until the 2 local engineers and the 5 "workers" sign.
He then asks me if I could send him $7.5 K. I say no, that all I have is $5K and that is for my daughters' tuition. He promises me to pay me back immediately as his HUGE payment will be coming in. He emails me a pic of the document. It looks fake to me. I feel nausea all day. But he somehow charms me to agree. After all, he is literally everything I could dream of in a man. Gorgeous, godly, a man of deep Scriptural knowledge, intelligent, sexy, romantic, successful, tall, sweet, loving...I could go on and on.
However, the next morning after I go to withdraw $5K from my account and search the local Western Union to send it to him, I felt the nausea come back. I prayed over those last few days to be given peace if this was right and to be tormented of it was wrong. I asked God to give me a sign. My unusual burning in my heart and stomach have way to a message that said google internet scams. So I did and within seconds I read about the common plot used by "engineers" often from Malaysia, Nigeria or the UK. It then told me how to do a reverse search on an image. So I uploaded two of the images he sent my of "himself" and lo and behold...they were pics of a handsome man from Boston. I will not expose his name here. I then got a call from my doctors office with upsetting news about my health. That I needed me to take some immediate action with another specialist and they mentioned some expensive tests that needed to be done.
I did not send the money. He was disappointed. But he then instructed me to read certain Scriptures and then he prayed for me. Telling me to claim the healing in Jesus' name. Very sound Christian advice. I am puzzled. Am I being scammed? He mentioned money again a few days later and I got off the phone with him. He was chastising me. I sent him a text telling him to never speak to me that way again. He has been nothing but sweet and loving since. He calls me to wake me up and calls me when he awakes. We speak of God and the bible often and how excited we are to see each other. Yet, I know the pics are not of him. Is he trying to keep me in the hook until he thinks I can not bare being without him before he asks me for money again? Was he too insecure with his own looks to put up his pic? Either way, my heart is aching. I thought I found the man of my prayers. Can anyone help me? He did give me a name of the "local engineer" to send the money to. When I googled his name I found a warning posted on of all places a gay hook-up site. It said stay away from the Henry Alexander Yorke, and Roseidah Binti Husin, that's the name "Reid" told me to send the money in care of.
