Its 5/3 bank....CALL THEM IMMEDIATELY
Kelli 2012-06-06 14:34:27 Unknown
It's Fifth Third general call out number, I received a call from recruiting about a job I applied for. This number showed up on caller ID but person left a different number to call back.

It is a group Number in 5/3 Bank. Every person that makes a call from the Operations center comes up as this number.
daphne 2011-08-25 16:12:19 Unknown
I don't have anything to do with 5/3 - so if it's them, why would they be calling?
Stephanie 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
This was Fifth Third Bank calling to discuss my online application for a home mortgage loan. They left a voicemail with a toll free number to call back.
Grammie 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Caller is using my cell phone to get through to me and the same company has used a different number 866-450-0037. I have never called back, just looked the number up on this site to see who it is.
Ted 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Yup - this is Fifth Third Bank callling so you should be fine UNLESS someone is using this number as a disguise of some sort.
Klipp 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
I don't and have never had an account with 5/3rd bank. So I would say scam...

They are legit. I got a call asking if I had just used my card three times at a Travel Lodge in England for a total of over $500. Well I am in S Texas, so some one had gotten my card number. They blocked my card and instructed me to contact my bank. Within 30 minutes I canceled my card, ordered a new one and had the charged disputed. A very good service in my opinion.

This is not a scam. This happed to me last night and once before in October. It is a fraud dect. company. The was over a thousand dollars worth of Fraud charges to to my account. I called my bank and they confirmed that this company froze my account because of suspisous charges in middle of the norwhere america. Since I live in New england it was clear that it wasn't me. The next day I had to go into the bank and have them order me new cards and distpute the charges.. A big hassle but luckily they caught it or I would be broke and SOL... Becafeful of onlune transactions and sketchie ATMs. They are people who put devices inside to get your strip and card number and sell it to get more money. I opened a second account just so that I can use that at the places i don't trust. Wont get me next time!

This is NOT a scam. This is a fraud detection company that is outsourced by your bank or credit union.
IF you google the 800 number they leave you (800-889-5280) MANY MANY credit union and bank pages come up that list this phone number to call if your debit card is lost, stolen, or there is fraudalent activity.
They were able to tell me in detail recent purchases I had made and they did not ask for my ss#, only the reference number they left me and I verified my name and address.
Someone tried to use my card in Ohio (I am no where near Ohio) and they hand keyed in the number for two $7 purchases. The fraud detection people told me that they do that to see if the card info is good and then they hammer you with charges.
They kept my card active for me to withdraw cash and then deactivated it so no more fraud could take place. My CU is going to issue me a new card.

---The only thing I can think of is that 5/3 bank has the same number outgoing and this "company" is utilizing it for scams. Or maybe someone at the bank is scamming people. Something the "financial crimes" law enforcement should look into and stop it.

This is TOO a scam. They called me about a Capital One account and fraudulent charges, I said I was in the middle of driving somewhere but I'd stop into my local branch that I was near. I didn't, I just wanted to call Capital One myself and get the real gist. It indeed was a fraud call but because I said I'd stop into my local branch, they didn't go any further. The next step would have been personal information. Just be smart about these calls. Hang up with them and call your bank back directly. For 2 minutes of your time, it'd save lots of hassle.

its not a scam.... if you call 5/3 you have the option of using your card number, your ss number, or your account number which will then forward you to your account options screen. i just opened a new checkign account so i assume they were calling me about that.

It was 5th / 3rd debit card fraud division. I called my bank and they were like "yes we work with them" She gave me a "good" number for them and it was the same number they left on my VMX to call them with. Called them and gave them the ref number they left on my vmx. Verified that there was a "test" charge of 10 bucks today to a fake web site. Testing to see if the card information was good. They canceled out my card and now i have to get a new one. Strange thing is like an hour before they called me i got a call from a different phone number ... i wonder if they were "testing" my phone too... bleh. Even stranger is 2 days ago I asked for my card to be replaced.

This is not legit. This is NCO Financial, not Fifth Third Bank. They will tell u they are working for 1500 banks. This is a debt collector I am a bank employee and they tried to pull this crap on me I checked my account, no fraudulent charges.
When you call them back they will ask you for account info and empty your bank account for a debt you do not owe. Do not give them any information.
Rob 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown

This is not a scam. This is the credit card monitoring service for 5/3 Bank. They called me to inform me that an unusual charge to my credit card was made today and they were asking me if I authorized this charge. Turns out I had not authorized this charge, so they put a block on the card as a result of the call. This is a good thing! If this were fraudulent and someone was trying to get my money, they wouldn't block my bank account or they wouldn't be able to access my money either. I verified with my bank that my account has been blocked and closed. They are automatically providing me with a new account, card, etc.
s 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Just received a call myself. Was on the other line, so I listened to the voicemail. Stated they were calling on behalf of my bank and that my account is blocked. I called my bank and they are taking care of it.
Sonsonny 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Called our work number and asked for a person that has never worked here. I told them there is no such person. Then she asked to be forwarded to the front desk. I said no. Then the women started to go into a spiel about "This conversation may be recorded" thats when I hung up.
A bank or credit card company will never call and ask YOU to confirm your account number. If they do it is a fraudulent call.
It is easy to fake caller Id numbers.

It is 5/3 Bank. They called me to verify a new checking account, that I applied for online.
Suspicious 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Called and asked for me, but had an incorrect last name. Seemed suspicous.
carmen 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
They called and left a message about fraudulent activity on my debit card and said my account was frozen. I checked with both my banks and checked my accounts online and none of this was true.
Always check with YOUR bank first.
I did not call these people back.

John 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
