It's a long distance calling number through Distributel in Quebec. You pay a set rate for long distance per month, call this number and then when you hear the funny tone, proceed to input the 10 digit phone number you are trying to call. It could be a scam because anyone can use it who has Distributel. Turns out for me it's one of my clients calling to ask me a question and uses Distributel as their long distance provider. If you know someone in Quebec, probably a good idea to pick it up just once to make sure.

I just got a call from this number, I didn't answer and came to this site to check it out, but as it turns out, it was my car dealership who called about an appointment.

Asked for me in French, when I identify myself the man in the line said:"I have bad connection" and interrupted the conversation but did not handed up.

the same a***oles called me at 6am too.  I didn't answer and they left no message

514 877 5000  can this number be borrowed from legal company and to be used to scam the public,
why would there be so many different questions (stupid questions), that are asked to different people?


do not answer, report it, and block the number.

I've got this number on my caller ID EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES for the last hour! No messages. It's driving me CRAZY!

I got an important phone call yesterday around 4:00 pm, I did not take note of the number thinking it is registed on my cell phone, but the person phoned using 514 877 5000, this is all I can see.  Can I retrace this person?  It is very important!

yep they keep calling me too, I never answered and I will not answer. it is a waste of time for them or their computer or their program.

I received a call from 1-877-900-5000, Amerassist A/R Solutions, Inc.  This is a collecion agency.  he were harassing me attempting to pay for a serice bill I did NOT authorize.  Other phone numbers for this company are , 1-877-691-5331, 614-848-9800, 614-848-3225.  Their web site is http://www.amerassist.com

This number calls repeatedly.....the DO NOT CALL list does not work.

this number keeps calling my cell , and when i pick up its ribngs as a fax.. VERY ANNOYING

J'ai recu un appel de ce numéro en date du 21 fév. 2012 à 3h15 pm. Je n'ai pas pu répondre mais il apparaissait sur mon afficheur de cell.

Called 2 minutes ago, did not answer.

Calling back gives a Distributel message.

Ok...its a health centre...i got a call..and dared to answer..  they just wanted to arrange blood tests for my insurance i was getting.

Received this call several times in May, I am in Ontario and they offered (seemingly scam) services in Quebec.

This man called my business number, claiming to work for Canadian Tire and wanting to discuss networking and promotion opportunities. We set up a meeting, and he gave me what turned out to be a fake email address and a fake return phone number. Obviously, he did not turn up for our meeting, so I cannot provide more details.  Looked up the original number he had called from, and it ws this 514-877-5000 Distributel number.

When I called back, it was just a dial tone !

Read the comments people! It's a legitimate number for long distance calls. To call my friend, i call that number and press in HER number, and it's free for me because she's on the plan (as she commutes she doesn't want her friends to have to pay long distance just to call her). The company is Distributel, and it's a legitimate company. Some 'bad people', though, as we can see, can use it illegitimately. Distributel should be notified about strange calls from people trying to get personal information so that maybe they can track the calls and alert the proper authorities for the mis-use of their service.

I received a phone call from this number today. The message was for "Deborah", which is not my name. The message said they were from CL Active Wear and would remake 55 leotards for the Olympics and that they had spoken with China and they were going to ship them to me. The person had a hard time speaking english.

How does this number get our numbers??? Can we report them?

It is the phone number displayed for ANY calls from "anyone" (individual, legitimate companies or telemarketers) using a Montreal-based long-distance plan company called Distributel. It useless to try to call that number back.

Ma mère fait affaire avec la compagnie Distributel dont le numéro est 514 877-5000. Elle l'utilise pour faire des longues distance ce numéro est une code!! Moi je répond toujours à ce numéro et je n'est jamais de problème c'est toujours ma petite maman. Je n'est jamais reçu d'appel d'arnaqueurs venant de ce numéro!! I rec'd a call from this number, on my skype phone. Called it back and got nothing but a ringing tone...these are bad people!
