There have been several calls also
Keep in mind that these days people can 'ghost' a caller ID from almost anywhere in the world with VOIP ( voiceoverinternetprovider)
That means the caller potentionally 'could be' anywhere on the globe but 'showing caller id' from usa
I would like to warn the readers on this website about a scam on our local news :
A call center (based in India) calls stating they are with Microsoft and have detected a 'problem' with your computer
The call center then says they will correct this problem for s small fee ( usually under 200 dollars)
They called me and said there is a problem with your computer but since we don't use internet at home ( for health reasons - wifi) obviously they were scammers
Then that night I saw the news report
Not that the NYC number is necessarily the case here..
