Got a call from this number, claimed to be The Pet Rescue organization, offering to find my cat for a fee. Obviously a scam. Caller had heavy indian accent.

This number keeps calling me, I just hit ignore.....what retards they are......

Today is the second time I have been called by this number in less than a week.  They claim to be a computer company who are authorized to fix Windows, they have discovered viruses on my computer, and would like me to allow them remote access so they can remove them for me.  I knew it was a scam and the first caller hung up on me when I asked him to spell the name of the company.  I asked today's caller where they are located and he said they are in Texas.  Neither one of them had a southern accent but they did have accents which I couldn't identify.  I told him they had already called me a few days ago and if he or anyone else ever called me from this number, I'll file a complaint with the police.  He bcame very belligerent, started yelling, and I hung up on him.  Scammers!

I didn't answer and he left a message called himself an attorney and if I don't called back all my assets will be frozen and blah blah blah

I received a call from this number today.  It was a fellow with an Indian accent.  He said he was with some computer company -- his accent was too heavy for me to know what he said.   He said he was calling in regards to my computer, in which, I answered --- "I don't have a computer!"...........complete silence.........I said, "hello?", hello?.........hello?......at which point he hung up.

Earlier this morning I also received a call from 607-735-0870 --- another call from New York.   I didn't answer, but checked on the number, and people are getting calls from a fellow with an Indian accent, telling them they have a virus in their computer.
So beware of this number as well!

I got a call from the same number , said he was with windows . I asked him how did he get my mumber. He said he wanted to check my computer for a virus . I told him Windows did not have my number and they did not do this . He got mad and started yelling in the phone . I hung up .

Called four times in one day.  Guy with a very heavy Indian accent.  Not to bright as my mother answered the first three calls and told them we don't have a home computer, at which point he hung up on her.  I took the last call and played along like I was so relieved someone was nice enough to let me know there was a problem with my computer.  Then I told him I just had one little question....how could they tell I had a problem with my computer when I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER?  He hung up on me.

Tried calling pretending to be vodaphone saying an imaginary friend recommended me and when he started asking me for personal details I hung up. He's called again 5 times AVOID!

March 27,2013  the number 1-516-746-9209...called at 4:00 am!!!
 They hung up after I answered it.

Scam!!

My parents in India got call from the same number listed and lucky for them they were fast alseep in the middle of the night and did not pick up the call... thanks for putting this on line...i warned my parents about this scam  number.

received a call from this number early this moning before nine..  did not recognize the number, did not answer and no message was left.   i came to computer and see others have been scammed by this number.  

having caller Id .. IS CONVENIENT  for this reason .. although its an added expense.. on phone services, it can be useful.. for scam protection...

received 2 similar calls from the same number this evening. thanks for reporting your experiences. he was very insistent to the point of rudeness.

IT'S A SCAM!
Got the same call. I started listening and before I even turned on the computer it sounded suspicious. I asked them: "Do you know what operating system this virus is affecting?". Answer: "Yes. .... Can you please turn on your computer and I'll show you.". Why not just answer the question, right? At that point I told them thanks, and I'll run a full system scan.
Remember, NOBODY likely has an association between your phone number and your computer. Probably not even your internet service provider. Modem yes, but individual computer no.
This is like manual phishing. Doesn't seem legal to me. Anyone know the legal side of this and if they can/should be reported to the authorities? Or just a waste of time?

Caller was a scammer with heavy indian accent attempting to acquire ip address. Belligerent on the phone and tried to scare caller into divulging network information to clear off "trojans".
