I got a call from this number and when I returned the call the line was busy

Same.  Then I hit 1 so I could get disconnected and the guy hung up on me

Recording saying urgent message about your credit card balance. It isn't your bank, but a scam to get you to hand over your credit card details.

Call is a pre-recorded message "This is your second and final notice..."

Asked to be taken off their call list. Told I have to give him "5 Kisses" to make this happen.
Sounds like the call was from India - no respect for women.

I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ABOUT LOWERING MY CREDIT CARD RATE - I DI NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD - DO THEY WANY TO GIVE ME ONE ? SO THEY CAN CALL ABOUT LOWERING IT AFTER I HAVE IT ? OTHERWISE STOP CALLING ME - THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!!

Just got the call. Annoying !

J'ai reçu cet appel (540-463-3816) trois fois dans la même semaine.  Cela finit toujours par une voix de femme qui dit Bye Bye (message enregistré).  la troisième fois, je reçois un appel concernant une carte de crédit. le message est en anglais.  J'habite le Québec (canada).

Just got this call and when I answered it was a recorded message from someone saying they could reduce my current credit card interest if I press 1 to speak to them urgently.

No thanks.

It's not the first time I've had that call, but it came from a different number before.

I am so tired of these calls. Last year, the calls were about lowering interest rates on my credit card. I didn't answer so I googled the number. Turned out to be scammers. I decided next time I get a call like that I would answer and play their game. It turned out they did call me again. Twice in one week! So I played along like I was stupid, I asked 'oh really - which credit card and which bank because I have more than one credit card'. The idiot said 'all banks'.. I said where are you calling from? Some state in the U.S.   I also got calls of this nature from Vancouver, B.C.  They have different numbers. When calling back, the lines they use are either disconnected or no service.
I had another bizarre call last year - a man claiming to call from Microsoft or something to that effect - wanted to get into my computer because he said there was something wrong with a program. Long story short, I played with the guy, asking him where he was from - this idiot said 'From India'.. I then blasted him - saying get a real job you big time scammer-low-life.
I know by calling my phone provider they will say there is nothing they can do.  Another suggestion - careful on some links online. If you're interested in a product or webpage and click on it and give all of your personal details, then change your mind and close the page - someone at the other end has gotten hold of your telephone number. I know because I got a call from this company and was stunned and shocked at how they obtained my personal home telephone number.
There are a lot of bad people out there. If you get a call you don't recognize just dont answer and search it online.
And the more complaints you place to your local authorities the more chances they will look into it.  Phone/Cel. companies will not budge for you. They only want your money.

I got the same as the others on this site.  Constant calls and no message left.

Got a call at 10h44 on 20 Jan 2014 from 1-540-463-3816. I am located in Canada. I did not answer the phone. They did not leave a message.

Left no messages... bothersome considering I have family in that area and I worry when I get an unknown call from the same area code. Based on previously reported calls here, appears to be spam. Blocking number...amazing since I'm on every possible "do not call" list available. Annoying!

Got a call from this number, but they left no message, so otherwords SCAM.  Do not bother calling back.

I got a call from this number and it is fraud!!! They say they work with credit cards like visa. MasterCard and Amex. They claim they will reduce your interest rate on all your credit cards to 5% and no charge to you. I started giving them information on my credit card and I started to become suspicious. I asked them for the company name and that I wanted to call them back as soon as I can verify they are legit. They kept saying they have a web site etc. I called my visa company right away and they said this is a fraudulent company and that they start charging the credit card like $500 at a time. Do not give any information !!!

Computer calling from cards services looking to lower my rate with the option to have my number to be removed. I pick option one to speak to a rep and told the b!tch to take me off her list and she just hung up on me.

Received call left no message. I recalled and said out of service. Do not answer.

Automated call indicates I have credit card problems and to hang onto the line to speak to an operator.
When I asked the operator how did they get my phone number, she hung up.
Called back on this number and received an automated message that the number is no longer in service or has been changed.

Phoned but would not leave a message. No name on display. Don't know anybody in Virginia.

Called me concerning a credit card I've never owned, told him to keep up his day job and dont ever call me again, that was 2 days ago..  today phone rang again and it was him, he realized he had called and hung up right away, SHUT THIS DOWN
