Caller alleged to be calling from Vancouver (wrong area code), claiming to be from FIDO, the cell phone provider, with a great deal.  Wouldn't tell us how they got our number, or any information about being removed from a list.  Very suspicious as person on the line was very evasive, not the "typical" telephone sales call.

Be careful, something wasn't right

Yeah, same deal with me, wanted 2 pieces of ID and was very pushy, i just pretended to be an east indian and they left me alone.

Would not listen to my request to remove (no suprise)
When you dial the number it either does not ring or goes fast busy

Had a call form this number, offering investments. Claimed to call from Japan. Had 2 different people at the line.

They Call and hang up. Does anyone know which creditor this is? Maybe from overseas?

I don't know who these people are and why they are calling, but because they are anonymous, it does not right to me. They called the other day when I was away and did not leave a message.
I wonder if there are any legal means to stop these individuals continuing their dubious activities.

JUST DISPLAY'S NUMBER I TRIED TO CALL BACK IT SAY'S PHONE NUMBER CAN'T BE REACHED FROM YOUR AREA

I received a call from that number while away from home.  I just called it back for fun and got a recorded message saying the number does not exist.

i got the same number that phoned me in ontario and i wanna know if i answered it would it charge me,?

Someone called me from the same number, But I did not answer, So I do not know who it was, I tried to look up the number and could not get any info. I hope this not a scam that some people are getting personal information stolen from. I dealt with a similiar caller another time and I got the police involved

caller had my address and postal code along with my phone number, offering two free Fido cell phones and 3 months unlimited local service, asking for some private information from a photo id card. Gave me a number to call to activate them (for free) which is Fido's number but insisted that I had to give away a health card number or some equivalent ID number. I called Fido and they confirmed that they have such a promotion but could not verify that the call I received was from one of their subcontractors.

Caller claiming to be from Vancouver (wrong area code, immediate red flag), from FIDO communications, the cell phone company, with a great deal: would not provide info on where they got our number, very little about the "deal" and would not provide a way to get our number off any lists.  Very suspicious, be aware.
