Everthing mentioned above  is identical to what they put me through. I do however, have another address, phone number and contact name. My caller display indicated no number available. I had to continually ask questions to get the info below and even then I am not sure if it is correct?

call from Shane at Microsoft ,March 3rd/2012, because of supposed errors on computer and that the computer had the start of a virus and that it would get worse. Said I'd call back, but haven't after doing this research. tried a phone reversal directory...they are NOT free and finally just googled the number I was asked to call back to ... and this is what came up. Whatever they are up to ...IT is what is corrupted...not this computer.

Received a call to the mobile from a Windows technician to fix error messages on my computer. Her name was "Angel" calling from Sydney NSW, gave me her address. I strung her out while she took me through my computer left clicking on Computer, Manager, Event viewer, ..... ended up going to the www.mytechonline.net site and asked me to enter my name and she gave me the password. I'd had enough of the bad, noisy phoneline, and her terrible accent. I'd wasted enough time, told her I felt uncomfortable with what she was telling me to do and hung up. No damage done, just wasted my precious time. Beware out there!!

Today, December 19th, my mother received a call from Mytech Online. The caller was a woman, with a heavily Indian accent and stated she was with Windows and that our computer was at risk from hundreds of viruses etc. My gullible mother went online and entered some pin, which allowed MyTech Online to use remote access to install a program onto the computer. The woman then began offering my mother some $400 lifetime access program that could protect her against all threats and viruses. She also stated that our 'Firewall was down to 0' -  0? You just turn it on and off. I told my mother not to enter any details into the form, as I am suspicious by nature and had been snooping around the internet looking for evidence that it was a scam. I immediately got her to hang up the phone and close/uninstall everything to do with the program. Thankfully, she had taken my warning to heart and not entered anything.

My father (who lives in Perth, WA) has just been scammed by these lowlifes.  He is 76 years old and new to computers.  They called him on the home phone and then rang him back on his mobile so he could go out to where the computer is located.  They got him to upload ammyy.com.  No doubt they were about to start telling him he had serious viruses that need fixing (I already loaded virus protection for him when he got the computer).  Thankfully his phone ran out of battery before they could scam any money out of him.  He doesn't do any banking, internet shopping, doesn't have Paypal or credit cards, so I am not going to do much about it as he is due for a new computer anyway, but I am absolutely furious with these people and will be making a complaint somewhere!  I tried to put in a complaint to mytechonline.net, but surprise surprise, my comments bounced back.

Call to my phone in Western Australia tonight at 7.00pm from a person, who spoke with an Indian accent, and identified herself as Stella Jones and saying she was from "IT support" or something similar. Endeavoured to show me "error" and "warning" messages by guiding me to the "eventviewer" where these fairly common events are shown as Logs.

"Stellla" asked me to enter www.mytechonline.net into my browser, at which point I asked "Stella" to call back at a more convenient time, enabling me to check out this business online.

Have had a few of these calls recently. If the directions are followed, full control of my computer is handed to someone or a company, about which I know absolutely nothing. Another similar operation uses the Ammyy site. I noticed on another site of the returned web results that "mytechonline" have engaged "PlacementIndia" to recruit call centre staff. Mytechonline is currently employing about 850 people according to the write-up, so it's big business.

Details similar to all of the above repots in most details.

Beware the unsolicited caller wanting to fix all the problems on your computer.

Same thing as referenced above, except in this situation he called one of our companie's IT client's who thereafter called out business to verify the validity.

Individual with Indian accent and super static ridden phone claimed to be from the Windows Server Centre and that he was notified of problems on our computers by Windows.

Despite me calling him back for the client, he referenced specifically that I had called him and had issues with my PC.

Obviously a scam, please avoid.

The Caller ID # showed as 253-802-0308 (Auburn, Washington).  A man with an Indian accent called yesterday with the story about my computer having viruses.  He spoke for a few minutes, then I started asking questions....How did you get my number? (my name was on a list)....where are you calling from (he said Toronto), what is your telephone # and I will get back to you (559-478-7796) ..this is in California.  I asked what his name was and he said Shane Carter.  I told him my husband takes care of any computer problems ... not entirely true but I wanted to see if he would call back.  I then started investigating and pulled up a bunch of information about these scammers.  I told my hubby about this ridiculous call and said he may call back to talk to you.
He called back around 7 PM ... my husband answered ... listened to his "script" saying we had a problem with our PC.  My husband then replied "Well thank you very much for letting me know" .. then hung up on him.  So far today have not received anymore calls from these phonies.  I will give an update if we get any more calls from these people.

I was called today by a Satnam Singh - a scam from India - fooled me by saying he was was Windows and all looked legit until I got the invoice from PayPal to SM Infomedia for $430.  Yikes?  How do I get that back.  Will phone Paypal in the morning because I can't seem to get anything on their website.  They used an old account that I had closed.  I also advised my credit card co. and they suggested I phone (they gave me the phone no.) PayPal first.  So, will see.

They called a few minutes ago, August 29, 2011. The man, Neil McKenzie, said it was a free service call to help speed up my Windows machine. He said his company was a "service provider" for Windows out of Fresno, but made sure I did not think he was from Microsoft. He wanted me to turn on my computer, and he would show me how to speed up my system. He was polite, but he would not tell me his company's name or where he got my phone number. He said that he had gotten our name from the Windows error messages that were sent from our home. (Not sure how my name /phone number is tied to that. . .) Anyway, when I told him that our machines are not slow because we use Linux, he was quick to get off the phone.
He also had a thick accent.

I got a call today, August 8, 2011 and they said they would fix the "errors" and that my computer would crash if the errors are not deleted immediately.  Since I had recently had issues with my PC, I thought they were the same people.  The technician called Dave showed me all the errors on the screen and then a guy called Max Evans with "an Indian accent" wanted me to pay for the assistance for a year, two or lifetime.  I was suspicious the entire time, and did not pay.  They said you can send us a check. I said no thanks, then he said "what is the matter, you don't have checks?"  I said where should I sent it to?  and the gave me an address:  3435 West Shaw Avenue, suite 102, Fresno, CA  93711.  He became very impatient when I could not understand him, besides the accent, there was a big weird noise in the background, that made it impossible to follow him.  Then he wanted to know when I would send the check, today or tomorrow.  I said tomorrow, and then he said, what time can I call you back to help you with the problems?  I said 1pm, just to see how far he would go.  Then he said, please be there at 1pm when I call you back.  What technician would talk to you this way?  Anyway, I looked this address up on Google maps, and the zip code should be 93722.  They are definitely a scam.  Could anyone please let me know if they can now access my computer or if they have done any harm to it?  Thanks!

I received a call from these Indians Or Pakistanis at the number above.  They got so far with me and could get no further.  I just wonder if they got enough to affect me or my life.  The last thing they said before they hung up was "to clear up your computer it will cost you money..>"

I got a call also.  Let it go to voice mail.  no message.  But how did they get my house phone # that I only use for personal calls?  How do they know I am having Windows errors?  I had to quit using my desk top computer because of all the errors and suddenly jumping to other web sites I've never heard of.  It will probably cost a fortune to have it fixed.  I have Norton security and System Mechanics and all the reports tell me the computer is safe and running good butt something is BAD wrong.  Is this company getting into my computer?

I was called this morning...same - 559-478-7796, I had to force them to give me it.My caller ID just said
Out of Area.  Anyway, the caller accused ME of harrassing HIM because I wanted a phone # before I would even talk to him.  I asked to speak to a manager, and got a man named "Clinton" - who provided the 559 #.  I looked it up and - you know the rest.  They are trying to sell their services, and approach you with an scary message about a virus on your computer.  The all have heavy accents...and are from India.  That is where their parent company is located. Their US office is in Fresno, Ca.

Got the same call. Caller ID: Fresno CA. A women with an Indian accent, asking for me by name and saying that I was a Windows user and she would eliminate all malicious viruses that had been downloaded onto my pc. She wanted me to go the my pc so she could show me how to get rid of them.  Red flag...

So I asked, who gave you the authority to call a home about PC viruses? Her first response was becasue she had my phone number. What a joke. Then further stated, becasue I had registered with Windows (which my husband and I NEVER do!)  She was checking me out to see if she had a sucker.

I then asked how could you know I had these viruses and she replied from shopping on-line. I even asked her to tell me the bad file names and I'd write them down.... Nope...she still insisted I go to my pc so she could show me (I'll NEVER do that cause I don't even know her nor the company). Then when I put her on speaker phone and was telling my husband (a PC tech) what the call was about....she hung up. Bad people out there.

Got a call at home, my wife didn't answer it. She looked it up on-line and found out it was "My Tech". I am a computer programmer and technician so I called them. They told me that my wife had called them at the request of our daughter to "eliminate all the malicious software she had downloaded onto the computer." What a crock! We don't have a daughter and after I told him that he changed his story without missing a beat and said that they survey local tech support companies and got our name, phone number and address from them.

I asked him why would any tech support place I might happen to frequent (which I don't) give up their customer list to your survey of them. He had no answer. I told him I have never used any local tech support companies and he then switched back to his first story that my wife had called him!

These people are bad news. Mostly hard to understand as they had heavy Indian or Pakistani accents (spoke to a tech and his supervisor...both hard to understand...might have actually been the same person.)  [NOTE where their "Technical Office" is located...below]

A guy with a very heavy Indian accent called and said he was calling from the Microsoft Windows Help Center. He told me that my computer was infected with a very dangerous virus and that he would tell me what I needed to do to fix it. I told him I have certified network technicians that maintain my network and if he thought I was going to let someone I don't know from an unsolicted phone call have access to my computer that he was crazy. He hung up!
