Someone by the name of Kevin Ross called my wife at her place of business today threatening her with a lawsuit if she did not agree to make payments on a bill she did not know she had.  She was told it was from a company by the name or embarq, etc, but the person on the other end also told her that she was sent many letters telling her about the debt.  We received nothing from them in the mail.  This guy had my wife crying on the phone and she relented in paying $200 as a first payment. She was dumbfounded but we contacted our credit union and put a hold on the payment.

By law, the company has to prove it sent you a letter detailing the debt and if they refuse to do so, tell them to go pound sand.  JD Enterprises is in a very long list of Unacceptable Collection Agencies.  This debt from Embarq isn't even on my wife's credit report so I'm not quite sure where they got the information from, let alone my wife's work telephone number.

They are scammers.  They do not even have an office in California.

They called me looking for somebody that doesn't even live here. Rude and cussing and using profanity.

This number is for JD Enterprises, they are a collection company, and this goes to the "legal services" division. They will call your family and harrass them, so beware, you might want to get this taken care of.

Got a phone call at my parents house from this number, they said my fathers name and my wifes together (we don't live there), then the man corrected himself and asked for me. He told my parents answering machine it was urgent and regarding a case #...
