Just got the same call, trying to gain access to my computer, they claim they are from Microtech Resolve in California and gave me a call back number of 424-77-2022, same Indian accent as stated above. Told them to stay on the line because I was recording them and tracing the call, he hung up.

Same scam message. I informed them that I would not be near a PC until tomorrow. I am looking forward to the call back attempt. Someone should post the web site that they want us to go to so we can check them out.

Got this call three times in the past week. Tonight my phone captured this number: 567-888-8909. It?s listed here as well as a scammer number: http://www.bbb.org/blog/2012/01/scam-alert-mi ... #comment-150351
I know enough about my PC to know it was impossible for him to ?know something was wrong? that needed fixing, and besides, it?s a nearly new PC. I have a couple PCs, and of course he had no way of knowing that. Plus I use a Mac at home for work. Heavy accent, terrible connection, gibberish about my computer?s security? I told him my computer was none of his business (it does feel like a real privacy violation, my computers are so near and dear to me), and I hung up.

Caller with a very thick accent said he was from Micro Tech. He knew my 1st intial and my last name. He said if I didn't let him walk me thru my setup on my computer then it was going to crash. He said that it didn't matter what windows system it was, it was going to crash. I demanded a call back number. He gave me this number that I did not call. 424-666-2033. He was very pushy!!!!

I received a call from 567-888-8909. Don't want another call from them. I consider this harassment.

Received call around 1:30pm today from this "agency" claiming that they were calling to assist me with the virus issues on my operating systems. Caller was a male with a very heavy Indian accent which was barely understandable. I kept him on the line long enough to track down the origin information of the call and asked him if he worked for Microsoft to which he said, "yes, Microsoft makes the Windows software". I had to tell him at that point that the conversation was over and that everybody in the world already knows who created the Windows platform and that his inability to comprehend even the most basic of questions was a joke. Have since reported this information to both the FCC and the FBI for hopeful action. One would think that someday we would actually be able to have a day go by without all of this garbage where people are attempting to hack our data. Why the hell is this still even happening, especially since one of the posters here is supposedly with the FBI division that would be on this like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm. Really!?

I didn't answer, but other sites say it's a common spoof for computer scammer--will tell you your windows computer has a virus and then asks you to change something in your computer.

Just got a call from 567-888-8909 a computer scam, I just hung up the phone, why do these people keep calling, sometimes using a different number? We are on the do not call list and I get tired of this. for one thing you can barely understand the person who calls.
| Michele 2014-05-05 17:21:58 Unknown |
Total scammers. I am buying a whistle this afternoon. I am tired of these people calling me. A woman from same number called me last week, and was completely rude, because I did not buy into her scam. I get called from these usual human beings two to three times a week. I am done.

This no. called and someone wth a thick Indian accent said my windows are going to crash. I told him my windows were fine, don't have any storms to worrry about, weather was great and have all windows open and enjoying the breeze.

I do not pick the phone on unknown callers. My understanding is if you really are the one who I know and you call from a different phone you can leave me a message and I will return your call.
I did not get calls from unknown people for a number of years, since I enlisted to DO NOT CALL ME register
Recently these calls are coming more frequently, though I am still enlisted to that register.
As soon as the one on the other end hears my greeting on the answering machine he hangs up.
The thought to check the phone number via Google just came today all of a sudden. I probably start getting frustrated.
The call from # 567-888-8909 is the first one.
Most frequently I get calls from Site Connection 206-767-2177

Broken english male said he needed to fix an extremely dangerous online infection in our Windows program. Said he was David with Instant support contracted by Windows. Wanted me to go into computer, right click on computer, right click, drop down box, errors & warnings....what does it say?I didn't do it but asked him What should it say he yelled at me saying people like me have our complete computers wiped out & blame Windows because we will not listen. Then I asked wht the name of virus was called, he yelled & said it wasn't a virus it was an online infection much worse than a virus. I was playing the game but didn't log into my computer. Gave me a call back # 424-777-2022

They called again. I talked to them months ago, and they ended up yelling at me. Apparently, they think we Americans are so stupid that we can be fooled repeatedly. This time, it was the same story. The caller, with a heavy accent, told me he was calling from Windows and there is malicious software damaging computer. I pretended that I was having trouble hearing him for awhile, as he continued his speech. Finally, I told him that I don't own a computer. At that point, he said something like "Oh wow!" and promptly hung up on me. I wasted his time when he could be scamming elsewhere. Next time, I plan to try to convert them to my religion with great fervor,

Every time I question their validity like their real company name, manager's name etc, they hang up. There must be a way to catch them. I wish o knew how.

Also called phishing, same company called me a couple of times, they told me to turn on my comp, asked what did i see, i said google, a supervisor came on the phone, (of course i was elbow deep in dog food and didn't have my comp on, so i was leading them on), they told me to hit the Windows button, and then hit Ctrl R, and asked what did I see, i asked who they were calling for, Linda Morris, that's an old name attached to my ph #, they again asked what do i see, i told them i see a scam artist and then i yelled into the phone, YOU'VE CALLED ME TWICE BEFORE AND YOU'RE RUNNING A SCAM, DON'T CALL ME EVER AGAIN, and hung up. Next time they get the whistle!!!

I got a call from these p*** scammers. I had already read online what they were up to so I had some fun with them. its been a while so I can't remember the play by play but I did almost everything they said but really really slowly. I would type in the wrong words when they gave me windows commands and I would make them repeat stuff five or six times and saY i CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIER ACCENT. THEY WOULD SPELL STUFF OUT AND i WOULD REPEAT BACK TO THEM THE LETTERS BUT CHANGE THEM. they wanted to remote control my computer which I said yes to but claimed that the computer claims there is no internet connection or some error I can't recall. anyway I got them to stay on the line for over an hour. multiple times I had them hold because I had to go downstairs and reset the router. I finally got sick of messing with them and put them on hold again and I went out to feed the chickens and collect eggs. I came back in 20 minutes later and they had hung up. later that night the same guy called back asking for the fake name I had given and I talked to him again. he asked if I had gotten the internet to work and I told him that I don't have a computer! he was pissed! they took my number off of their list for a couple of years. I guess they just called back but I didn't answer.

Call hang up when answering machine quit at 1225 pm PDT. Obviously a crook. Looks like they got another number to use on unsuspecting people. Sure wish people would stop ranting about I am on do not call list -- hello, what crook cares if you are on the do not call list? They just want to steal from you. Please warn elderly or impaired not to fall for these obnoxious pieces of garbage.

The phone number these scammers reached me on is in no way associated with my computer purchase, warranty or repairs, so it is obvious they are just trolling for information, and they are not very convincing. Beware.

Got a call from this number, they left no message, CID says "out of area". Added number to my call blocker.

Just got the call didn't answer because it's not a number I recognized. I don't answer the phone while I am in class no message was left so I blocked the caller 567-888-8909. Pretty sure it was a scam and some needs to fix this crap so it stops happening

Thank-you everyone for sharing the issues you've experienced with the phone number 567-888-8909. I too received a call from them, the guy's name supposedly Darcy Eaton, with Indian ascent, saying I had molishous(?) software on my computer. They gave a phone number to call back, 424-777-2022 saying its instant support. They wanted to hook up to my computer and that's when I stopped. B.S.

Same thing...if he says something ask him this exact question "Are you from Windows, the mother software of my computer?", laugh loudly and hang up..
When I asked for verification of his authenticiity, it confused him, he paused and "uhh'ed" and then said "I'm from Windows, the mother software of your computer." To which I said "You are from Windows, the mother software of my computer" and he said "yes"...then I thought, you called for a scam to take from me, but what you don't know is that you actually GAVE me a wonderful opportunity to have some fun. Do you know how playing stupid drives computer people crazy? Oh yes....he left HACKED.
