Debt Collector
USCB recently contracted a collection firm in East India that calls debtors all over the United States and threatens to ARREST THEM. I got one a call from them just this morning from a man with a thick, East Indian accent, who said, "You will be arrested if you do not pay immediately. Call Attorney John Marsh of the John Hill Law Firm right now or we will come to your home and arrest you!"  (Silly bi****s -- I saved the recording and will use it to sue USCB.)  Calls threatening arrest makes you FABULOUSLY LIABLE to me for $1,000 - per call. There is NO DOUBT that U.S. Career College and USCB Collectio Agency is involved in this federal violation because it's the ONLY debt I have -- so I know it's them. The call from "India" came from 714-509-5835 and they use multiple numbers just like that. Complaints against these "attorneys" are all over the internet. So guess what -- I'll be filing a small claims law suit against U.S. Career College and USCB for their "indirect" involvement in this call, thereby suddenly shaving my balance from $1,360 ... to $360.  USCB -- you have got to be the biggest fools on the face of the earth. Didn't you realize that I can trace the calls from India straight back to you?  All I have to do is ask them ... "How much do I owe?"  They'll say, "You owe $1,360!"  -- which matches U.S. Caree College down to the cent --  and then I GOT YA!

Learn how to spell, foul ignorant fool. Witch is which. Only one example. Learn some manners. Since your "boss" is a collection agency, its not illegal to put his information on here. As long as he is a registered legal company, people can legally put his information anywhere while exchanging information.  Dont be so ignorant and do your research before saying something is illegal! Sounds like your the idiot!

Requested info at Penn Foster then looked at my credit report and was rather surprised to find an 1100 bill. Penn Foster is not even a real school, So I definitely did not sign up. Anyway, I disputed it on my credit report and it got removed within a month. Dont fight with them, just dispute it. And they'll have to leave you alone.

Debt Collector
I received a phone call from USCB Corporation this morning at 9:00am, the gentleman who called asked to speak to a certain individual. I told the collector that, the person was not available, and that I would take a message for them.

I asked who was calling, to which the collections gentleman told me his name, and the company he represented. I then asked him what the nature of the call was. He said it was a "personal BUSINESS matter." to which i asked him a few questions pertaining to kind of business we do. To which he replied, I can assure you that this call has nothing to do with the stuff you mentioned.

I was somewhat curious. Wondering why this gentleman called and would not relay what the nature of the call was. Just providing his name, and the company he worked for. I then asked him what does his company do. To which he replied. "I can not tell you anything, I am not allowed to by federal law to discuss this with you." This made me even more suspicious. Why would you as a collection agency. (I didn't know who they were at this point, just a company named USCB Corp.) Call this business and relay some information, but then act shady about the nature of the phone call. All the guy had to say was I AM CALLING TO COLLECT A DEBT. Then maybe I could have helped him with the situation. After the gentleman dodged my questions on what the call was about for about 5 minutes, I eventually said okay, and hung up the phone. Upon hanging up the phone, i looked his company up, and then found out that they were a collection agency.

In all honesty man, did you honestly think that you being a sneak would get you transferred to your desired destination, to speak to you the person you called about? Be upfront on what you are calling about. You will get more cooperation i would think, then trying to sneak around, and acting like your phone call is important, by dropping such words as "Federal" and "personal BUSINESS matter."

This phone call was not a PERSONAL BUSINESS MATTER. This Phone call was a PERSONAL MATTER. The phone number you called was a business. That was not his personal number. AGAIN.. I was told when the gentleman called that he called in regards to a "PERSONAL BUSINESS MATTER."

The gentleman that called was very nice, and polite, besides being a complete shade-ball.

I asked the gentleman, after he would not tell me what his company did, what USCB stood for. To which he replied. "It doesn't stand for anything." to which i replied. "so your company is just a bunch of letters thrown together, they mean absolutely nothing?" to which the gentleman replied "Yes."
I got a good chuckle out of that exchange. That is when i realized that this dude was going to continue to be shady, no matter how many questions I asked to reveal the nature of the phone call, or what his business does.

After looking up his number, and stumbling upon this website. I gave the gentleman a call back. I let him know that he had called a place of business, and asked him if he can not call back.
The gentleman was nice and polite, he said he would remove the number, and he would not call the business back.

Kudos on being professional, next time be upfront with the nature of a phone call, if you are calling a place of business. Might get you somewhere quicker, or even get you no where quicker. In both scenarios, i would consider it a plus, because time is money... if you are spending 20 minutes beating around a bush, that is taking time away from you making other phone calls, and collecting other debts.

It is a colklection agency and they just called me once and left a detailed message on my phone. i didnt think this many people had problems with this number but im glad i looked on here and found out im not the only one. I thought these kind of people gave up after so many years. I dont even know how my got my new phone number. that right there is strange. i hope i dont hear from them again.

This law is now expanded to include discussion of a persons debt in a public forum, such as this one. By doing so, you violate federal law.

No this is how it works --- if you come here shilling you get dealt with.

People should not pay bills they do not owe.  They should not have to answer calls from bottom feeders who are calling for people who are not associated with the number called.

Now, I can tell from your post that you are a functional illiterate who can not compose a complete sentence.  It appears that would would greatly benefit from taking some courses yourself.  Judging from your post, I would suggest starting at about the third grade.

Since you say responsibility works --- please take some responsibility for completing your primary school education.

Consider this the beginning of your education, and your first lesson was free shill

Wow, your boss must be proud to have you represent his company. Did they train you to be so professional and, um, educated. Maybe you should sign up for some of those classes at Penn Foster or Stratford Career Institute and take a few spelling, grammar, and customer service classes.

Second, you must be proud to work for a company that takes advantage of the tiny print at the bottom of a contract that was never signed.

These are celler dwelling zombie debt collectors. they buy uncollectable debts off of (HA!) legitamate debt collectors for pennies on the dollar. Every cent they get is profit for them. They have no legal connection to the original creditor, or the agencies that have shuffled the paper back and forth.

Usually, there is NO PROOF that a debt is even owed; if they cannot provide valid verification, in writing, in a 30-day period, they cannot even attempt to collect on the debt.

What these companies do is then sell the bad debts to yet another zombie.

They all suck!

For the person who said, "There is NO statue of limitations on how long a bad debt can be collected on," you are absolutely wrong. Every single state has individual rules and specific laws on this. It's not about reporting to credit agencies, it's about the ability to take somebody to court to sue them and obtain a judgment for the money owed. That, for example this information for credit cards, listed by state with links to each state's legal source.

http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/c ... ations-1282.php

The problem here is that many of these anonymous posters are likely employees of this debt collection company posting misleading information.

I understand that these contracts are legally binding but the "schools" are absolute S***. I tried reasoning with the "financial department" and they were absolutely no help at all, these schools do not transfer and do not really account for anything at all. ACREDITED my a**...whatever that even means. I have refused to pay them anything more. Now they have sent me a letter in the mail offering 40% off my bill if i pay by a certain date to some company named USCBcorp, who even knows what is legit anymore. The school send you  5 "workbooks" basically a few pieces of paper stapled together, send you a few "tests" and tell you, you have passed the course. Now i owe 1500. I hope students out there come across this site before you sign up for any of these courses, i wish i had. Now i cant even find the "US CAREER INSTITUTE" site. i have no way to log into my account to even TRY to pay them. Now my credit is ruined at 22, all while i was just trying to find an education.
