It can't obviously be a call reminder for an appt. because I do not have any upcoming appts with any geisinger doctor.

My husband had suurgery 2 weeks ago at geisenger and this number called his cell (more than once) and was asking a lot of medical questions which he answered because he has ongoing health issues with geisinger. I told him he should not speak to them again unless they provide a call back number as some way to verify who they are!!!  The questions were intense and did not make sense.  If they called the home number I would have been asking the questions! I think it is a scam so I would advise not speaking with them. Geisinger should be checking this out and will tell them about it.

I received a phone call from this phone number today stating that my daughter's medication was approved today. My daughter didn't have any Dr. appointments or any medication needed from any preauthorization. This was such a strange phone call which i then said that something is fishy here since it makes no sense to me. The woman on the other end said to call my Dr.'s office to get the info. The woman would not say who or which office authorized the medication "Latuda" for my child. I proceeded to tell the woman that I never had any medications for my child and I don't know what she is talking about. We ended the conversation with the understanding that I was calling the family Dr. office and that I never authorized anything.

Got 2 calls back to back from this number yesterday.  Didn't think too much of it since we get people calling our number thinking they're calling Anthem (BC/BS).   Figured I'd Google the number just the same and came here.  Came up as follows:

Keeps getting calls from this number atleast a few times a day, last call was at 7:44pm (EST)... Get a voicemail of a guy and it sounds like the same thing over and over (Hello, mygeisingersupport, we'll try back another time!)... LMK if anyone else gets the same message?

We do have Geisinger & after speaking with someone there regarding a family member's health issues, I was referred to a social worker there about the condition of our apartment.  She called me from this number, but the number I was given to call in was an 808 exchange.  I haven't tried to call this number back.  The number looked familiar & I looked it up to make sure it's not my landlady's office line.  The lady calling sure sounded like her.  The search showed it's a Scranton number though.

That is Geisingers display number for caller ID. Also see 570-271-6000 for appt reminders. I get calls from the 953 number when it's actually people from the hospital calling. I get the 271 number when it's an automated appt reminder message. And yes there's others too. Depends on which part of the hospital your calling from, depends on which phone system it's relayed over.

Calls, but leaves no message. I am unable to call that number: the recording always "we are unable to complete your call as dialed." I am aware that we are now required to use the area code as well, so that is not the problem.

I got called about CHIP insurance for my son with the Geisinger health group

Its a number for Geisinger Health Plan about application interviews.

I have found that I get many calls from Geisinger as well as other PA residents because my cell number starts 570-814 -xxxx.  The automated system for Geisinger does not dial a 1 for some reason so when it calls 814 area codes where the next three numbers match my cell #---than it calls my cell because the phone network automatically inserts the 570.  I have had this issue ever since I had this cell number considering the 814 and 570 area codes in PA are next to each other.  This may or may not be a similar issue for many of you.

No actual doctor will call someone with a blocked number but fake doctors from Asia, and Belize will call people with spoofed numbers.

This is not a scam....that is Dr. Hahn of GMC in Danville. He is an acutal doctor, I know this because he has been my daughter's rheumatologist for 11 years. I think it's a number that we cannot call back on.

Not at all true ... I owe no one and I have no affiliation with any medical facility for an appointment or otherwise ... this is a SCAM CALL.

Geisinger or not ... I never heard of or had an appointment with them so that tells me SCAM DO NOT ANSWER !!!

Just got a call from this number.  Caller identified self as a follow up survey from my Emergency Room visit on Aug 14. She said it was actually one of my sons who was born x number of years ago.  She did not have the right info although close.  I never visited the Geisinger Emergency room and neither did any of my sons.  We live a far distance from Danville and would not use their hospital.  When I pressed for additional information such as address, etc. she hid behind the curtain of HEPA.  Sounds bogus to say the least.  Hospital suggested that I file a report with the police.

This is NOT a legitimate call from Geisinger!

Somehow they have gotten some kind of tie-in to Geisinger clinets, but I'm not sure how.  These phone scammers can fake the caller ID to make it look like the call is from  whoever they want to and from any number, even in a different area code than they are actually calling from.

I too have an appointment coming up at Geisinger, but not for 3 weeks so they would not be calling me to remind me this soon---especially since I was just there less than 2 weeks ago.
I do not owe them any money, and they have all the information about me that they could possibly want since I have been there at least 30 times in the last 5 years.

The call I just got was a male with such a heavy foreign accent that I couldn't even understand what he was saying, so I don't even know if he said anything about Geisinger----that's why I came here to try to figure out who it might have been.  Although I know they have thousands of employees at Geisinger, in all the times I have called there or gotten calls from Geisinger, I have NEVER had anyone that was not understandable and I seriously doubt that they would hire someone for phone work who was so hard to understand.

If you get a call from this number DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION AT ALL----DO NOT EVEN CONFIRM YOUR NAME!!!!  And either forget it, or ask the caller what department he is with and ask to speak to the supervisor---although do not give the supervisor any info either because it is not legitimate--- or best yet, call back at some legitimate Geisinger number that you have gotten either from the Geisinger website or from calling information  (NOT this number that called you) and ask for the department the person said they were in and ask if someone would have called you.

They call three days and one day before your appt to remind you were to go and at what time they do leave a message. You cannot call back because 1 geisinger is a big hospital and has alot of numbers and 2 if you listen to the message they give you a call back number. This is not a collection call just a friendly reminder. I have noticed that alot of ppl on these sites must obviously not pay alot of their bills and are scared and come up with excuses for their inability to grow up. Stop making excuses and start showing up for your dr. appts not everyone is out to steal your money especially if you dont have any to pay your bills anyways.

calls twice a day for weeks now, I think this is the # that left a message once about a clinical trial for previous patients of Thomas Jefferson U. Hospital, sorry I deleted the 800# before writing it down.

This number has repeatedly called me late at night - between 11pm and 1am. When I pick up it is only a fax machine beep. I called it back and got no ring the first time, and second time it rang 8-9 times and no machine. White pages lists as Thomas Hahn, MD in Danville, PA.

I have been getting calls from this number. They never leave a message. I called it back, it just rings and rings. This is ridiculous. I also got a call from another number right after it that the person had an accent and used my maiden name (I have been married for over 7 years now) saying I had a collection account that was medical and they need my SSN, and insurance info to correct it. Seriously?! I obviously told them they had the wrong number and never to call back. Who would give their SSN out to anyone over the phone? Hopefully NOBODY! Be careful with your info people. DO NOT fall for these scams.
