I'm in Hawaii about 2000hrs. 06 jun 2014 I got a call 585 226 9880 , they said I had a bad cluster in my system .
So I asked , how do you see this ? They said my computer E Mailed them, sad to say McAfee
was the only people I gave name and number too.

001 585 226 9880 have been calling my residential number for 3 years now, asking each time for Mrs McEvie.  They get ruder by the call, hanging up when I ask to take their details, and not heeding any request to remove us from their database.  This is sheer nuisance value and needs to be stopped.

Warning about my windows computer.

A lady with an Indian accent called from this number (585 226 9880) and said she was calling from London. She warned me about my registered microsoft OS in my computer with licence xyz that was supposedly attacked by a virus and that I should log on to my computer. As I do not use microsoft, I suspected the intentions of the caller and when I insisted to have her name and company number (noting that I would report the call to the police) she finally hung up. Unfortunately there exist innocent people who would probably believe the caller and unassumingly provide all the details the caller would need..

Called about my computer. Claimed she could fix the problems I was having. Call said to be from a pay phone. 8:57 pm 4/10/14

left a voicemail said to call the guy back.. it is from CRA... fraud written all over

Luc, you're good. I wish all people were as quick as you are for these things. I had an older friend who called me after the fact. I've received these calls (I am a professional) on my own lines, and cell phones.
I feel bad that my friend lost about $75 and had to change all his cards, but I had told him before that the companies such as Microsoft or Adobe or whomever, NEVER know your phone number or address and will never call or contact you without YOU, first, contacting them. People, please pass on this information !

I received a call from this number stating that "my credit card number was locked" and to press 1 to unlock it. I thought it was pertaining to the previous owner of my phone number. Once it told me to enter my 16 digit card number, I hung up. Scam artists.

This guy called me about my Windows computer had a very strong East Indian accent.  I cut him off.

Hate these f****rs calling me from there caves up in the mountains.

I received a call from this number also...I didn't answer and they didn't leave a number.

of the good guys!

Just had a call telling me they were calling from windows and my pc was sending error messages.  I asked which one - told them i had 7 in the house.  She asked me to go on any one, i told her i'm not stupid and hung up.  
People could easily get caught out though

Don't these people learn? So many people are still falling for this scam which is keeping them in business.   They rotate their calls every few months from different numbers, either that they called from the number I blocked last time and are using another number in their arsenal.   What a waste of their time not mine since I just look at a number, google it and block it when necessary.  

Good idea.  Tie up there lines!!  I could hear a number of what sounded like telemarketers in the background

I just got a call from them.  I can explain this scam.  I've been called twice before and it's always an Indian hacker.  They tell you information which is common knowledge and easily attainable so that you think that someone has hacked your info.  Then they get you to a site or somehow try to  get you to allow them to control your computer so that they can hijack your personal info.  I almost fell for this the first time (how stupid) and when they started controlling my computer I couldn't shut down so I just disconnected the power.  They tell you they're from Windows, but windows has also reported this as a scam.  Basic line is, if the caller is Indian - hang up.  Windows would not deal with a problem in this fashion.

got the same Indian "this is windows technician, there is a problem with your computer.  Because you are registered user,  turn it on so we can fix it together."

yeah... and I'm the "President of the USA"...  I told him to give me the error codes from the "windows error reports" they are getting, and that I'm a computer engineer, so I can fix it myself...  "  woudn't, coudn't, tried to scare me that my computer was infected"  so I said,  "yeah... I guess it has a bad case of "phishing"  "   :-)

I almost said "thank you, come again" as in the "The simpsons" but he woudn't have understood the slight and might have actually called back... so I just hung up.

will have to give my family training on never giving into this crap (especially kids).  Its important to use these cases to wake up and let others know that we might be repeatedly called by these scammers.

Caller ID said payphone, no voice, just dead air

a caller apparently from austrailia, sounded like a german accent with a smack of german Words like, Ja.

Got a call from this # today asking for my 7 year old son. Ridiculous scam artists!  Don't pick up or just cuss them out....

I just got this call. Heavy Indian accent asking me about my PC. I instantly started laughing. I told him we didn't have any PCs (we're all Macs here). I couldn't stop laughing since I knew it was a scammer. Told him we didn't have any Windows in this house. Maybe he thought I was being cute. Didn't mean to be, but I guess that was kinda cute. He said "F you." He really really did. He used the eff word! That just put me in hysterics. He hung up on me. Golly, I think he's really not that into me after all.

Just got a call from this number.  Didn't answer.  Supposed to be from Avon, NY.   Not sure who it was but from my research its another scammer.

Just had a call from this number. Lady with a very strong Asian accent. Couldnt understand a word she said. I told her this and said please dont call me again andhung up. Blocked calls from this now now.

It hasn't stopped it happened to me today. (8/27/2013)

Him: I am from Windows Technical Support and I am calling about your computer.
Me: Which one?  
Him: The windows computer.  It is sending us information every time you long on.
Me: I don't believe you.
Him: So hand up buddy.  

I put him on speakerphone and muted the phone.  Finally, he hung up.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. I answered, heard a click and then heard a phone ringing so I hung up.  Clearly the call was being re-directed somewhere.  I don't care who is calling, I don't have the time to listen to a phone ringing after I answer the call.  Definitely a tele-marketing caller.

Pur essendo italiana e abitando in Italia ho ricevuto una chiamata stamattina, ma non ho risposto. Mi sono subito insospettita vedendo una chiamata da NY, visto che là sarebbero state le 3 di notte.

I received a phone call on my mobile phone this morning, but I didn't answer. I'm Italian so it is very strange to receive a phone call from NY at 9am since there would be 3am.

Called concerning my $2,500,000 winnings. Told personit was a scam and that I was not sending $500 for a winning and that it was just a scam
