HE'S ABUSING PEOPLE. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND FBI TO REPORT THIS TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. THEY WILL REPORT AND GIVE YOU A CASE NUMBER. THE MORE YOU REPORT THIS THE QUICKER THEY WILL ACT. CALL FTCHELP. THAT'S THE NUMBER AND THEY WERE REALLY NICE.

I just got the same message on my answering machine.
He claimed that he is calling from IRS.
He had a very heavy Asian accent (maybe Vietnamese?), and I couldn't understand his English so well.
I am grad I found this page, before I call them back!

I received a call on 1/24/2014 @ 7:30am. A caller had heavy Asian accents, stated he was calling from Rochester, NY.
He also added that I am under criminal investigation and I should call the IRS. I asked him his ID No., phone no. and supervisor's name.
He provided: ID # 1001426143.
                     Phone No. : 585-444-6226
                   Supervisor's Name: Mark Ritter(?)
I asked him to send me all inquiry documents in the mail. He discontinued the phone.    

Yes, I did get a call from these idiots today.  Had heavy accent and was addressing me as "Sir".  Please don't fall for these scams.  If someone knows how to stop these scamers, please let us know.

Got this message on 01/13/14 and again on 01/18/14 at 7:30 in the a.m.  Left a message for me to return the call or have my attorney call back.  Said he was calling from the IRS.  He said his name was Mark "Right" - how can he be so "Wrong"

I just got a message from 585-444-6226 claim it's the IRS.  I will call the IRS tomorrow to find out.

I also got a call from 585-444-6226 , so called indian guy , thick accent , he was funny , instead of harrassing people do some "real" hardwork buddy ,

Haha i just got call from this number.I forgot what he said his name was. I'm Indian and he had accent which looked as a Indian to me. He said he is calling from California State IRS....I asked him if he was from california tell me the capital of california...he didn't say anything for few mins then said he isnot allowed to discuss that lol....then he said we will be mailing a letter...I got this call today...17 Jan,2014...around 1:11 P.M my timezone...PST

Got a call from this number. Has accent. States that he is calling from Department of Education re: my application!!

I also got the call from John Smith from 15854446226  around 1.30 PT. He has thick access and claimed to be calling from IRS!
I called back and the message says..Thanks for calling IRS and then the message said...the receivers mail box is full.

Just received a call from John Smith at 1-585-444-6226. He had very thick accent and he claimed to be with IRS.

I got a call from 585 444 6226 and the guy on the line left a vague threatening message asking me to call back.  The guy had a strong Indian accent but gave generic American name.  Clearly a scam. See
