Prank Call
I just received 2 calls in a row that I let go to voice mail because I did not know the number. The message was extremely time sensitive from an Officer Eric Foster (Fulser?), at hotline to my division is 585-786-7758 now don't try to disregard this call and return this call and if  I don't hear from you or your attorney either then the only thing I can do I  wish you good luck, the situation falls on you. (something like this), I consider this a fraudulent call but the call type does not give that as a selection in the call type list, so I have listed it as a prank.

April 3rd, 2014. I just got a call that was basically a message. That I must return officer eric fulsters call immediately or else good luck. First and foremost if the irs calls you it's not a message it's an actual person. Second of all, it is the irs. Of course they will have your current address not one from years ago. If they call you it's to arrange a meeting at your local office if your being audited. Scam big time. Will not call back and will block the number. Be safe peeps.

I received the same message yesterday from the same person Eri Foster or Flusher. Did not catch clearly the last name.
I will not and repeat will not call back this jerk at all. This is an on-going scam/fraud by different people using different phone number. It sure does not sound like an American person's voice. Hope the regulatory authority will stop this for once and for all.

WASHINGTON ? The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver?s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

?This scam has hit taxpayers in nearly every state in the country.  We want to educate taxpayers so they can help protect themselves.  Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer,? says IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel. ?If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocation if you don?t pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn?t the IRS calling.? Werfel noted that the first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail
Other characteristics of this scam include:
Scammers use fake names and IRS badge numbers. They generally use common names and surnames to identify themselves.
Scammers may be able to recite the last four digits of a victim?s Social Security Number.
Scammers spoof the IRS toll-free number on caller ID to make it appear that it?s the IRS calling.
Scammers sometimes send bogus IRS emails to some victims to support their bogus calls.
Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site.
After threatening victims with jail time or driver?s license revocation, scammers hang up and others soon call back pretending to be from the local police or DMV, and the caller ID supports their claim.
If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here?s what you should do:
If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue ? if there really is such an issue.
If you know you don?t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you?ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.
If you?ve been targeted by this scam, you should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their ?FTC Complaint Assistant? at FTC.gov.  Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint.
Taxpayers should be aware that there are other unrelated scams (such as a lottery sweepstakes) and solicitations (such as debt relief) that fraudulently claim to be from the IRS.
The IRS encourages taxpayers to be vigilant against phone and email scams that use the IRS as a lure. The IRS does not initiate contact with taxpayers by email to request personal or financial information.  This includes any type of electronic communication, such as text messages and social media channels. The IRS also does not ask for PINs, passwords or similar confidential access information for credit card, bank or other financial accounts. Recipients should not open any attachments or click on any links contained in the message. Instead, forward the e-mail to phishing@irs.gov.

More information on how to report phishing scams involving the IRS is available on the genuine IRS website, IRS.gov.

I've been getting these "IRS" calls from the New York area for a few months now. All the callers are men, hard to understand (middle eastern or east asian accent??) and babble on in a non-sensical way about deportation and owing taxes. Most end with "have a nice life". Just let your answering machine pick them up, then listen to the message for pure entertainment's sake. I'm creeped out that they know my name (although they can't pronounce it), but it's not hard to find out these details when it's all available on the internet.

Please, don't call this number back or take this "threat" seriously in any way!

I received a call from 585-786-7758 three months ago, telling me that he is officer Eric Fluser, or Fluster from IRS having a warrant against me to put me in jail for not paying my tax. First off all the massage was for my boyfriend and when I called to fined out what is going on and introduced myself, he put me on hold for while and then he told me that  call or massage was for me and keep asking for my personnel information, like social security number, my previous addresses and so on so fort. fortunately I did not give him any of these information because I got suspicious. He sound like an Indian guy with full Indian accent. He was yelling at me to give him my SSN in order to pull up my fill for the years I did not pay tax. the years he was mentioning was 2011 and 2012 the years which I paid my tax on time and had all my documents ready then I got mad at him and start yelling back and used "F" words. He told me that the police is on the way to arrest me. SO it is almost three months and police did not arrive yet. Today is March/31/2014, I got another call from the same number and same officer again. On the massage it says that if I do not respond to the massage, he have an arrest warrant for me. But this time did not mention any name on the massage. I called him and give him a fake name. He keep saying that if I do not pay 2,000.00 to IRS,  he will send the police to arrest me. I told him, that I am waiting for police to come and told him I hope this time, it does not take three months for the cop to show up. I told him, this time give the police a faster donkey to get to my hosue. This is my story from this number (585-786-7758).

It's NOT true! It's a fraud (most likely Indian) trying to scam you. It's just as simple as that. The immoral scumbags have been trying to run this scam for several months now. So much so, the IRS has posted notices on their website.
The foreign frauds have been upset over this site for a long time. We cost them money! It's getting worse now. They're finding that more people are catching on to their BS because of sites like this one. We've put the pressure on & it's working. The U.S. gov't is now becoming more proactive. Across the U.S. & Canada people are seeing warnings about scams on television & hearing about them on the radio. The U.S.P.S. Inspectors are now running a series of commercials that Americans can enjoy with their morning coffee. One of the more explicit warnings they're using involves the fact that it NEVER costs money to receive money. The Indian fraudsters must LOVE that one!
The frauds in India are discovering that fewer people are falling for their scams. The "back taxes" one has run its course as well. People are being told every day that the IRS does NOT call you with threats of arrest. EVER! The IRS doesn't call at all. The only time an IRS agent will call you is if you've called them first. The IRS uses the United States Postal Service!
Frauds hate this site! Real people LOVE it!
Be Safe. Be Aware.

Received a call from 585-786-7758 Officer Eric Fulster claiming I was being auditing from the IRS under Tax investigation for 2010-2012.  They claimed they sent notices and I did not respond and now I needed an Attorney.

I asked where they sent notices and they said an address that was not mine.  Then he said no wait are you at 12...and I said I have not lived there in 8 years.  He then hung up.  I called back and spoke to an officer Gary who claimed they were from a Tax investigation unit and he said they called me by mistake.  I then asked what kind of place they are running and that this is fraud and he hung up on me.
