This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

Received a call from 606-657-4586. Said I have an outstanding payday loan and I need to pay it within 30 minutes  They instructed me to go to the nearest Wal-mart or 711 stores.  I was to contact them when I got there and they would tell me what to do next.  Obviously I didn't fall for the scam - they called me 7 times that night on my cell phone and one call was from a numer listed as 911 they left a message that said a warrant has been issued for me arrest.  They said the lawfirm name is Holland & Bradley.  They were not american speaking - hard to understand them.  People be careful out there - don't fall for anything like this....protect yourselves.

I received a voicemail and he left a message with our secretary saying that he will have me arrested.  For some reason I already knew it was not real.  The person that called me was Adam Lee and I cannot wait for him to call me back so I can let him know how he has been found out.
I am so glad that I decided to google the number before I called him.  I will be filing a report and giving this info to the ftc office.

Hello I got the same call from the same number. They had all my personal information and said they were coming to deliver papers to me and arrest me at the same time and serve me with a warrant at the same time. I know its a scam and I called the FTC and reported them but going to try the FBI.  There has to be something we can do about this.  My police department told me there was nothing they could do because they were not doing anything wrong. Thank you for posting the number and yes a heavy foreign accent which i could hear my voice echoing.

I had the exact same experience on May 16, 2013 telling me I owed over $700.00.  The caller identified himself as Sam Jackson and he did have a heavy accent.  After several minutes of him harrasing me and threatening to have me arrested which scared the beejezus out of me he transferred me to the "restitution department" and the next heavy accented guy - Kevin something....told me if I paid 1/2 of what I owed it would show good faith.  I explained that I could not do that so he rudely transferred my back to Sam.  After having a few minutes to calm down I informed Sam that I was not comfortable giving him my banking information to settle the debt when he would not provide me any verification of the debt.  He went back to being rude and nasty telling me that within 30 minutes he was going to notify the authorities that I refused to settle the debt and I would be arrested.  I was so VERY close to giving my banking information because I was scared and VERY intimidated.  I am very grateful that my co-worker found this page so I can relax knowing I did NOT fall for this scam.  How can people live with themselves trying to scam people like this??

What I want to know is how to block these SOBs from calling my job.  When I see the number, I just hang up or ignore, but I want to block them from calling my job, period.  Low-life SOBs and they know damned well if they were here in the United States, they would get seriously injured for pulling this crap.

Received a call and when I called back, they placed me on hold. While on hold, the same number appeared on my second line do I answered it. "Jack Smith" told me I had a law suit pending and he wanted to get my attorney of records name. I told him I had googled the number, knew it was a scam and I was formally requesting that they not contact me again or I would be in touch with the BBB and the police. I said "Do you understand? Do not call me at work." He replied with "Ok." And I hung up. It is a little scary that they have this information but I was more upset that they continually call my job.

I did go online recently to find out how much of a loan I qualified for. I never agreed to or electronically signed anything. Now I have these same (Whatever they are) people (Heavy accent) calling me and threatening to arrest me at work and possibly take my vehicle (Which I paid cash for and had no loans on). Glad I Googled this number (606-657-4586) and this site came up. Thought I was in a world of hurt thinking I did push the wrong button on my keyboard. They are quite intimidating at first. Again I'm glad I saw this site and I am not the only one going through this. I will file a complaint. Thank you all.

I got this same call today for my husband.  He does not have any payday loans.  I told the caller that I knew it was a scam and have already reported them to the law.

You can call the Federal Trade Commission and report the supposed name of the company and their phone number.  They will give you a case number and if you continue to receive calls you can call back and add to that case number.  www.ftc.gov

I am the office manager at a public school and just received a call for our librarian from a very heavily accented man wanting to be put through to her immediately. I was sceptical so told him she had a class right now and I would take a message. He indicated it was urgent and she must call back right away. I called the library to see if she had any idea who this might be - Holland and Bradley Legal Associates and she said no. We both looked it up and found this. Thank you! If he calls back I know exactly what to say.

Same people called me, same scenario. I'm being sued, lol and they need my social. Called them back. A different person answered as Law Firm. I asked which law firm. Changed her story to they are a counseling service. Could tell it was a boiler room by the voices in the back. All broken English with thick accents. Hilarious.

I have been getting these calls at my job and on my cell. They have been calling saying I have a loan and they are going to send someone to my house and to my job if I doesn't pay the loan off. I also been getting calls from 911 # and 646-432-6837, 646-564-5597 #'s stating the samething. They also call themselves giving me a case#. They stated to me that I needed to go to a CVS and purchase a money pak. Put the money on there and call them back and give them the pin # off the back of the card. I have looked the number up and saw all these posts of other people saying they have gotten the same phone calls. They also posted this is a scam. People, people, people this is a scam and do not fall for it. Plz!
