Same guy with an accent just called me advising me that my computer is infected with a virus. I asked him if people still fall for phone scams like this and hung up.

I got a call from this number today. I didn't answer. Saw the number on my Caller-ID. I'm so tired of these calls from domestic (Swedish) and foreign swindlers and also legitimate telemarketing companies. Now while writing this a domestic telemarketing company called! Didn't answer.

I received calls from these 4 numbers in the span of 5 minutes today. I didn't pick up since I was at work. Two left mumbled messages, the other two left no message. I figure they are all part of the same scam because only my family calls my cell number.

I have had my new number for about a month, someone called said don't hang up, we know where you are and have your licence plate number.  My friend had my phone, I am very upset that they did this at 9:39 pm on a Friday night.  I got this phone so that we could talk while he worked.  The phone is registered to me!  Who the do these people think they are calling and threatening people on my phone!  I have no idea who they are but will be reporting them later today when my phone company opens.

Hello! I are so tired for this phonecall and i hate this. I just tell for few months ago "F*** you" Your are not from Microsoft or Windows copraiting system or something like that.

I don't like this phonecall: Calling me mix time. I don't like that.

Wow ?. First time I have had this happen or heard of this ?.. got a phone call, supposedly from Microsoft telling me my computer needed to be adjusted -  wanted me to edit by boot path!  I said no thanks -  but wow, have you heard of this before -  this seems like a weird new tactic.   My phone records show the call came from:  607-724-9716

I just received the same phone call from someone with a heavy Indian accent telling me that my computer was at risk and he would walk me through what to do about it. He told me to let him know when I turned my computer on. Since my computers (2) were already on I knew this was very suspicous. I said just a minute and hung up the telephone. I called Microsoft and told them about it. The Rep said that it was a scam. I tried to call the number back and they said the phone was disconnected.
Sounds like a "Home Alone 3" phone interception.

I just had a call from a man speaking in broken English telling me he was with Dell and Ad something and my computer is infected. He didn't call me by name. I asked him my IP and he didn't know but said he has the name on the account. I told him I wasn't interested and he started yelling at me. I told him I would report him but he was still yelling. I just hung up. Where do these people get our names and tns.

Caller said she was  from Microsoft. That my computer was a risk.

Just called saying there was problems with my Windows server and I said, "Yeah, so" and he hung up... He had a strong Indian accent and was quite rude sounding (so was I...;) ).  Caller ID came up as "New York"

I think it would be better in future to agree your computer needs a lot of help and offer to pay if they can give an account number, bank and branch number (cuz you dont have a credit card or paypal) ... and see if we can get that info for the police.

Received a call from this number. Recently lost my dog, and this heavily accented male stated that his company could help me find my dog for a fee. I let him talk for a minute or two before I told him that my dog had been hit by a car and to never call me again. This was the second call from this number. First time was for a sales pitch for windows.

I have received several calls from a foreign sounding man who tells me that my computer is at risk.  I have asked him politely each time to take my number off his caller list.  Tonight he told me that it would cost me $50.00 to have my number removed. Then I hung up.

My call this morning is one of several calls from this number.  Caller ID indicated it was from a pay phone and I didn't answer it.

Same as Louise RN. Funny thing is he talked to someone who was legally deaf. So he wrote the wrong call back number anyway.

I got a call from this number today (july 17 2013), a guy supposedly called Alec Martin pretended to be from the MicroSoft Windows helpdesk. He wanted me to download Ammy software; Ammy warn for these calls on their website

got a phone call from this phone number with indications that the call came from binghampton, ny, usa. binghampton, ny the place where IBM was founded. my phone is registered in norway and I also know that people in denmark have been called up. these phishers have come a long way. I didn't pick up the phone.

Just got a call from some Indian a**le who said he was from the "computer department" - what a freekin loser...I cussed him out and he tried to do the same but had such horrible english it made me laugh at him...

Oh goody, another hang up call from a group of muckleheaded scammers.  These folks have called before, and undoubtedly shall call again.  So far as scammers go ... these ones sound more idiotic than the norm.

Got a call from this phone number 607-724-5163 at 6:44pm in Ontario, Canada. The woman, who had an asian accent stated that my phone had been picked out of many for a free Duct cleaning from their business. When asked where the company was from she stated she needed different kinds of information regarding my house and whatnot. She was hesitant to provide the phone number but when I continually asked for the business address and where they are located she hung up.  I phoned my local police about this number.

Same happened to me, stating they call on bahalf of MS. Accent from India.

I live in the Netherlands, so the scam reached us as well.

Today I had the same issue, using the same phone number as described below. They rangme, as soon as I heard they were calling on bahlf of MS I hung up the phone.
2 Hours later another call, from the same number.
I told them I was on to them, stating they were trying to hack my computer and immediately they hung up.

If they would use the nergy for a real job I am sure these guys would be successfull. Anyway, this shows they are still active!

After the first sentence, I asked this caller "Who are you?" only to be told the same read-out message again.
Then proceeded to tell caller that "This is a scam. I'll report you to the police." (Microsoft has warned so often that they never call clients "out of the blue".)
At that point the caller said "So, OK, .... to again repeat the same read-out message".

Although he deserved an A+ for insistence, I hung up on him.
