I got a call from Jim Haswell also. I was really tempted not to call him back, but curiosity got the better of me. I'm kinda a skeptic. I mean in the real way where I really want to know the facts, not a bunch of opinion. I'm glad I did. I don't think this opportunity is for me,I'm going to stick with nursing, but it confirmed what my gut told me. Primerica is a company that has been around for 32 years, is an industry leader, consumer advocate, and all around solid company. You don't become that way being a scam or a pyramid. By the very nature of a pyramid, they are here today, gone tomorrow. Certainly, it's not for everyone, but we all have start thinking for ourselves and not take people's opinion just because they wrote it on some site.

Jim died yesterday from cancer - may he rest in peace

Note to Jim Haswell, if your voice didn't sound so robotic maybe some of us would have actually called you.

I received a phone message 4/13/10 from a well-spoken male caller, who said something like the following:
Hello, Cheryl. My name is Jim Haswell. I am in charge of an expansion of my company. Your name was passed to me as someone I should speak to regarding a position. Please call me at 608-335-8449. The best time to reach me would be by 5:30 pm today, or between 1 and 5:30 pm tomorrow.

Jim Haswell is a District Leader with Primerica. Primerica is a company that as of Thursday will be listed on the NYSE under the symbol PRI. It's been in business since 1977 and helps average people reach their financial goals. I met with Jim and was surprised by the opportunity. At first I was skeptical, but I like to think for myself. I know there are opinions on both sides about Primerica, but if you actually look at the facts, it's a great opporutnity for the right person. They have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Called named Jim called and said his company was expanding and he was interviewing.

Got the same call today that others have written about - from the infamous Jim Haswell, looking to expand his company. After reading all of the above, I certainly won't be calling him back. The message certainly sounded recorded and robotic. Wonder how many of these messages they leave every day?

Jim Haswell is a busy fisherman. Said he was in charge of his company's (not named) expansion, and my name came up. Left that message on my answering machine. Asked me to return his call. Since he did not name his company, or how he obtained my name, I will not reply. Sounded like some sort of fishing for an investment scheme, probably getting names out of the phone book, and googling the names!

I think that this is an automated, robotic, message system. Not really sure if this is even legal in Wisconsin.
Molly 2011-06-06 20:52:23 Unknown
He certainly is a busy guy.

Looks like Jim is hiring again, I just got the same call as most of the others. Almost fell for it but for the lame computer generated message, the not mentioned company or who refered "Jim".

Got the same message as others. Said to call back before 5 or Monday between 1-5. Called but got voice mail and then decided to search for this person and found this site. Not going to bother calling back.

I just received a call from Catherine Bell. Same thing, "expanding my business", "your name came across my desk", and never said her company name or who gave her my name.

I'm just trying to check some back ground on a company that called with a job offer. I wanted to know if it was legit, as scam or telemarketing. I'm not sure of the spelling but the company was Primerica & the caller was Jim Haswell. I would appreciate any info available about this company.
Thanks
chuck

He left the same msg on my cellphone vmail and I know I signed up for the Do Not Call list in WI. What a waste of minutes. It was a weird msg, it sounds pre-recorded but like a human impersonating a robot.

I recieved a voicemail yesterday from a Jim Haswell containing the same vague information that everyone else on here described. If the guy doesn't list the company he's working for and a specific position he's calling you about then it sounds fishy to me. I'm not wasting my time calling this guy back.

Just got a voicemail from our buddy Jim. Exactly as described above. About two years ago I received a call from people at Primerica essentially running the same thing (I don't have details because they wouldn't discuss them until I cam in to talk, which I didn't).

I just got a voice mail today from Jim, I believe the last name was Caswell. He said he was expanding his company and I seemed like someone he'd like to interview. The call back number was 608-335-8449. He said I could call him back today before 5pm or tomorrow between 9am amd 1pm.
Laura 2011-06-06 20:52:23 Unknown
I got a voicemail today from Jim, with the same story about expanding his business & my name being passed on to him as someone he might want to speak with. 1) Why didn't he identify the name of this "expanding" business? 2) Why didn't he identify the person who gave him my name? I'm thinking he bought a list of names & is working through them, trying to find someone to listen to his spiel & possibly take the bait. I'm glad to see other's comments here that basically agree with my conclusion -- something is not right & definitely not worth a call back!

Got the same business 'expanding' call from Jim today. Woke me up from a nap! Very vague, but tell him your not interested and he politely got off the phone.

Hi - this number (1 608-335-8449) showed as unknown caller on my caller id. Guy named Jim, vague details of how he go the number as a reference from someone else.

I just got a voicemail from this Jim dude about is company and how it is expanding. He said that my information got passed to him as a potiential candidate for the expansion of his business. He didn't give much more information on the voicemail. I wonder who passed my information on to him and why he would provide more details about the specific role he needs filled rather than, "a potiential candidate for the expansion of his business". I too am wondering if thisx is a legit opportunity.

When a caller does NOT state what company he/she/it is calling from, it's a good indicator that something ain't right. Just ignore them.
Todd 2011-06-06 20:52:23 Unknown
same as above - call for interview - call 608-335-8449 for details...
I was an insurance agent in the 90s and I looked into Primerica. They are not necessarily a scam but there methods are certainly only some legal technicality away from a pyramid scheme.
No way I am calling back!608

I get the same call from the same guy, but the number is 608-316-7980.
nick 2011-06-06 20:52:23 Unknown
I went to the company's seminar. It's a pyramid scheme... baisically. It has a bit more legitimacy being owned by citi, but all said and done, its a pyramid scheme.
