So happy I read all these comments. Idiots keep calling on my Fax line, so naturally all they get is the fax tone Every day for the past 3 weeks. One would think they would get the idea that the number doesn't work for their purposes. Plus, the fax line is not listed.Morons

Sorry, not as stale as I thought; I must've been looking at the start of the list, but the rest seems to be equally fraudulent. Someone here did a lot of investigating and it's supposedly official.
1) Using a caller ID claiming to be from the state of NJ.
2) NOT LEAVING A MESSAGE.
3) Unsolicited calls.
IF it would be a survey I guess it may be legal, but are they at least required to leave a message???
| Brad 2013-12-04 01:02:32 Unknown |
Still happening years later. Forwarded to my cell phone so I didn't see the name, got home, saw the name and wondered if it might be official. Obviously not. But as I said, the latest post here is 4 1/2 years ago and it's been activated again.

I get calls constantly (24/7) from NJ STATE OF - 609 292-7007. I NEVER answer and they NEVER leave a message. That's fine with me. It can't be that important. It's annoying and I'm fed up with having to delete their name 3-4 times a day from my Caller ID. The State of New Jersey has nothing better to do with our tax dollars? If they are what they say they are, they give legitimate survey takers a bad name. STOP WASTING EVERYBODYS TIME!

last week almost every night get a call from this number - caller ID says from State of NJ- yet they do not leave a message- so must be a scam of some sort - if I don't know a number I don't answer - if they don't leave a message- not important or a scam

These people call 4 to 5 times a day. They claim to work for the state. I asked why they picked my number. They said it was random. I asked if it was random why was I picked at random 4 to 5 times a day 7 days a week? What are those odds? They hung up on me. But still keep calling. I just hit *60 and am hoping that will stop the calls.

Got a call from aaron something or other and he said he was from NJ CDC. He did ask how many people in the household and I said just me (STUPID STUPID STUPID ME!) I just started lauging and laughing. He wanted to know what was so funny (the state of NJ "working" at 9pm is what was so funny to me.) He said he was going to ask me health related questions and I asked why. He said it was to evaluate services in my area or something like that. I asked how my answers would affect services in my area and then he hung up.

Okay......so I read comments of this going on far back as 2009......looking for a solution please. What ever happened to the Health Information Privacy Protection that I have to sign every time I go to the doctors.
They still keep calling even when I pleaded HIPPA and refused to do a survey over the phone. I just want to know the way to stop them from calling me !!! HELP !!

I got a call from NJ ST OF on the Caller i.d. today at 12:08 PM. If it was really a state run office they would be closed today.
Anyway, I searched the name of the office on the caller i.d. and came up with a website. This is the page with all the numbers to contact and the number that called me wasn't on it.
http://www.state.nj.us/health/contact.shtml
So obviously it isn't an official phone number.
609-292-7007 - is not a real number from them. Do not believe them and do not answer their questions.

I received a rash of calls from this number at the beginning of July. I was suspicious after the caller identified herself as someone from the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services and wanted to ask me questions pertaining to a survey. Well, I was so shocked by the first question (and offended) that I told her I was ending the survey and not to call me again. I only know that these calls from NJDHSS began two weeks after I received emergency treatment at a hospital in South Jersey, and the first question the survey taker asked me seemed related to my ER treatment. It could be a pure coincidence, but I'm still not sure. Out of curiosity, I called the number at 6:00 a.m. the next morning and someone answered! I told the woman to please place my number on their "Do Not Call" list, and she agreed. I also asked her how my phone number was picked, and she said totally by random. Well, I called the Mary O'Dowd's, the commissioner of NJDHSS, phone number and the woman who answered verified that the NJDHSS ARE making these calls. The woman from NJDHSS also said these calls are part of their 'behavioral' study survey and again reassured me the calls were totally at random. I still feel uneasy about this entire thing.

This company called every night for about 4 or 5 days, each time I either declined to participate, or ignored the call. LAst night, they called again and my wife eagerly accepted the call and participated in the survey. No call tonight

In the time it took you to craft that response, you could've just answered the survey.

I knew that my call last night at 8:23 was lame because the young woman said "Division of Public Health and Senior Services," which I know doesn't exist. I told her that if she didn't know what she was talking about, I sure wasn't going to tell her anything about my family. The call possibly is legit, just a crappy vendor, so I am following up with NJ DHSS. There IS an audio tape of the call, so remain calm and rational when you tell them where to file their survey.
You can call 609-292-7007 back (which probably is a DHSS number) during business hours and ask to be removed from the call list. According to AnserveAmerica, to whom the calls get re-routed, AnserveAmerica was hired only to take calls to remove numbers from the call list. Supposedly, a different vendor makes the calls. I'll have to go to the State vendor contract page to find out.
I spoke to an owner of AnserveAmerica, who, I sensed, felt my pain and who indicated that it was a UMDNJ survey. If that is true, it's too bad it's being mishandled because it skews NJ health statistics to responses only from folks who have a high BS tolerance or who are very lonely, both atypical characteristics of the NJ population.
