Thanks to all the previous targets of this phone scam who have taken the time to post their experiences.  I was going to call back the caller id of the Breast Cancer society, but chose to go online first and saw your posts.  Obviously there is not point in calling the organization to ask to be removed from the list, because all they do is extract your name and continue calling you.  I too get several calls a day, with no messages left. I too do not answer calls from cold-calling organizations.  So much for the National Do Not Call Registry--it only works if the organization is legitimate.  A phone blocking app for landlines..that is what we need.

This number continually calls our office.  If you answer the phone with the company name, they hang up.  If you answer "Hello" (as we have caller ID and have had many, many calls) they ask for a person....usually a name of someone who doesn't work here.  They've been told to not call our number but they keep calling.

I received a call from these folks, did not answer and then called back to see who it is. Their message said that it is the Breast Cancer Society. I blocked all future calls from them. Thank heavens for modern technology. I would never contribute to anyone who solicits over the phone. A lot of so-called charities are just raising money for 'executive' salaries. The multiple sclerosis society, for example, plays its head hauncho over $400,000 per year.

Getting to many calls from this number. When I answer they hang up. I have Panasonic phone's that have a feature to block calls (land line). I finally blocked them after having about 10 hang up calls on my answering machine as they call all day too. When they call in the evening and I answer, they hang up. Definitely some type of telemarketing or scam. I already give to another charity and wouldn't give over the phone anyway.

I just received a call from the same number.  Told them I was sick as a dog (that was true, I can hardly talk with my cold) but the wanted to keep talking anyway.

Forwarded me to a "confirmation" who "offered" to let me make my donation via phone with my credit card.  I said no, then she said she'd send me something in the mail. (has anyone actually gotten something in the mail?).  Then I looked up the number online & found this site.  

By the way, also woman said she was Amanda.  For all the voices in the background, (if those were real, maybe recordings?), she seems to be the only one who talks to anyone, eh?

Glad my hubby didn't answer it.

I just received a third call from this organization claiming to represent breast cancer patients.  The previous call claimed to represent children with cancer.  They called Thursday night at 9:00pm which is a big no-no.  When I asked how they got my number the caller began stammering trying to come up with an excuse.  I told them never to call me again.

Yet another fake call using Breast Cancer S as their ID.  I live in Minnesota and I am embarrassed that this scammer is using a Minneapolis area code.  Of course the caller is more than likely calling from a foreign country using a local prefix in attempt to trick the number they call.

They are persistent and earlier calls in 2013 they asked for me by using my first name - talking over the ring tone and before my answering machine picked up.  One call had a sick laugh as they said my name.

This is a scam,the person that calls identifies herself as Amanda.Amanda is the town in Minnesota that this call originates from.Its about time something was done to get this thieving trash off of decent peoples backs.

6th call from this number.  Female voice asking for me by my first name talking over my answering machine which does not record her voice.  I never answer unknown numbers.  They called the following dates:

This is not the Breast Cancer Society.  They are crooks!

Female asked for me by my first name. I told her "speaking" and didn't hear anything. Then I asked "hello?" and heard a click. I called the # right back, but it said the number could not be completed as dialed. The only reason I answered the phone is I have a mammogram scheduled for this week and I thought maybe it was someone changing my appointment.

I just got a call from this number and the Caller ID showed Breast Cancer S. After reading the post here I'm glad I was fighting my answering machine trying to get it turned off so I could talk. I do know that 612 is a Minnesota area code, more specifically towards Minneapolis and the surrounding area. Another post I found elsewhere showed someone named Steve associated with this number.

What really ticks me off is I had a mammogram 2 weeks ago that showed a lump and a mass. The place I'll be following up though is not in Minnesota. People like these scammers need to get nailed. I have enough to deal with regarding this very issue and getting calls like this is beyond cruel.

I don't know what their parents didn't give them when they were children, but doing crap like this is inexcusable. Maybe to take my mind off my own problems I'll file a complaint against them and spread their number all over the place to blow their cover.

I received a call at 7:00 PM on 9/12/13 from (caller id showed 612-285-3115, Breast Cancer S) telemarketer.  She asked for a small donation to help breast cancer patients.  I told her my husband and I had created a fund years ago that helps breast cancer patients. She said she didn't want to take away from our fund, but could we still give them some money. She continued to be very pushy.  Then I got mad and told her my husband had terminal cancer and we are giving to the foundation at the clinic he goes to, also (which is true). I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude with me and she told me to have a nice day, blah, blah, blah, all in a sharp tongue.  The nerve of these people.  I never answer these calls, my husband answered the phone and she asked for me by name.  I too, have NEVER been associated with anything through this breast cancer organizaton and you can bet I never will be.  Will never give to the American Cancer Society either....too much goes to the top people of their organization.

Breast Cancer telemarketer (285-3115) called me at 11:00 AM today. I told the woman twice loudly to put me on their do not call list and she ignored me and kept on with her sales pitch. I slammed the phone down on her.

I researched this organization and found that not even five cents of the monies collected go to cancer patients. And that the president and his family are the empoyees who receive most of the money his name is James Reynolds. He has about five different cancer organzations based in AZ and the fundraiser is from Michigan. One person who received one of their "care packages" contained paper plates, napkins, plastic forks and spoons and cups. Why would this be a care package to a cancer patient. There people are crooks and have lawsuits by AG's all over the country. AZ and MI allow them to operate. Just giving you info found on the internet.

Called us tonight at 8:30pm, but left no message. Caller ID reads: Breast Cancer S...

Received a call from this number and because I did not recognize the number I did not answer it.  The person on the other end of the line started chewing me out for not answering the phone and then went on to call me several names because "I" was talking about her behind her back, about how she knew God and that "I" would be the one who would be punished for the unchristian acts that I was committing.  I broke into the middle of her rant and told her that she had the wrong number.  To get her attention - again I said hello and again told her she had the wrong number.  She did not apologize or anything - she just hung up without saying anything,

I contacted Breast Cancer Society after the 4/25 call to complain and ask for my number to be removed.  I have NEVER had a working relationship with this organization and have NEVER been a volunteer.  IF the call is legit then leave a message asking us to contact our representatives.  It feels like a scam and now I will file a formal complaint since they called AFTER I asked them to stop.

Here is their response from my complaint after the second call on 4/25/13:

Our call to you was a part of a campaign for advocates to contact their Representative to urge them to support a $1.50 increase in the price of tobacco to help reduce the 5,100 annual deaths associated with tobacco-related illnesses in Minnesota alone.
 
We have escalated your request to the You?re the Cure program to have your name and contact information removed from this volunteer database.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Breast Cancer something or other, wanted to mail donation information. I don't accept people holding out their hands, I choose who I offer my donations, not by solicitation.

I got a call from 612-285-3113 ostensibly for breast cancer. The conversation was not typical of a legitimate fund raiser for a legitimate organization. I would not send any money.

Breast Canter fundraising. Called twice in one day, even though I told them I don't accept phone solicitations, and only give thru the mail. Woman identified herself as Amanda.

This is a scam.  Do not answer - unless you want zombies to visit your domicile.
