My ex-wife, who lives in Germany, got a call from 618 465 8085 during the night (we have a 7 hour time difference vs the 618 area code.)
So it appears they also try it with non-US telephone numbers.

Today I got a call from a guy with indian accent at this same number and telling me this old windows story, I tried to play with him as I was free at the time:
1. he kept asking me to find the CTRL key of the left bottom of the keyboard, I told him I couldn't and he asked me what I could find on the keyboard and I told him that there and big apple and banana keys and other fruits keys but no CTRL key.
2. he then asked me to type an address like !s.gd/connectserver (! is actually i at the beginning) in my browser address bar and asked me to type "return", I didn't do that and asked him if this server to be connected belonged to Microsoft? He answered yes, I told him to hold the phone as I would check it with someone I know in Microsoft (not really doing that), after few minutes I came back to him and asked what's his name, he told me "XXX" and I asked the last name "XXXXXX" and told him to keep on hold and the guy in Microsoft will help me verify his name and then just left the phone there, in about one minute, he dropped line.
So if you have time, just do the similar tricks and this helps stopping the same guy from calling for FRAUD.

I just got the same call from this indian sounding guying asking me to go to my computer because it had a virus, I said no thank you and he proceeded to say "f*** you" I said excuse me then he said "are you ho**y" how can i make this stop?

Had a call from this number a Indian sounding guy. Telling me I had won a iphone I hung up. No hassle then bombarded 5 blocked calls then nothing. 3 texts how can I get them stopped?

TELEPHONE FRAUD ATTEMPT:
I received a call a couple of weeks and a peson with an Indian accent saying he was from the "maintenance department" (I don't remember from where) and had to correct a problem on my computer. He asked to give over control of my computer so that he could "fix" a problem!!! I hung up.
Nov. 7, 2012, I just received a SECOND call from a person with an Indian accent -- I think the same person-- saying he was from the "maintenance department of Windows computer". I told him I was too busy. He insisted. I hung up. He called me back. He knew my name and email address. I insisted that I preferred to call him back. He gave me a phone number: 1-888-797-2734. This number is associated with CARESOFT. However, when I traced the number ( 618-465-8085 ), it was not Caresoft. 618 area code is southern Illinois. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A TELEPHONE FRAUD.
Most likely someone using Caresoft's number to give them an appearance of creditilbity.

I keep getting calls from this number and I am on the Do Not Call list.......how do you get this to stop?????

got a call fro 618-465-8085, indian sounding guy, knew my name, was calling about me using windows on my computer. told him i didn't have a computer (he hee). asked him where he's calling from, he just replied new york, and it was about windows. 618 area code is not new york, but he could be using those devices to display any number he wants???

Recieved a call on my cell number, left no voice mail, call was from St.Louis area.
