Got texts re: Craigslist ad I had. Wants to send you fake certified checks. Definite scammer. Delete & ignore.

THIS # KEEPS SENDING ME TEXT .. I POSTED SOMETHIN ON CRAIGLIST IN ABILENE TEXAS ..

I KEEP GETTING A TEXT FROM THIS # SAYING THEY ARE SENDING A CERTIFIED CHECK .. HOW CAN YOU GET THEM TO STOP TEXTING YOU...

I am a car salesman in PA and sometimes post used cars for sale by dealer on craigslist. She, going by the name of Katherine Wilson, contacted me for one of the cars. This is the email she sent:

Thanks for the response, i really need to get the item asap   but like
i said before, am very busy person and i don't that time to come for
the viewing and pick it up with and pay  cash and as far as you are
ready to sell to me, my husband will make the payment  and overnight
the check  to you and as soon as you confirm the payment and but i
will arrange for a mover that will come and pick it up after you have
your money at hand because am located in TX . Get back to me with the
information needed  to make the payment.   Get back to me your full
name and address to mail the check to.

and i will be offering extra $50 to get it, ..I will be  overnight
a Certified Check to you  and i will also  arrange for a local pick up

with Two Kids so i don't have time to check them up and pick it
myself but am okay with the description on the CL, and  the item  will
be pick up from you  after the check cleared. I will need your Name
and Address and Phone # so that i can mail the Certified Check to you
and notify you when the
I will send the payment out as soon as i get the details and i will
arrange for the local person to pick it up from you when the check
clear.

same things happening to my friend... she needs to be caught and arrested for all of this....

Wow she is trying to do the same thing to me. she said her gpa had died and is sending extra money for the burial and shipping and handling fees. wow people disgust me. ive heard about this stuff. thank god that i decided to google her phone number to see if she was legit because i probally would have tried to cash the check ! WOW!!!

same problems in craignlist

Same thing here.  Paid for item $2000 over value of item selling with the check from Aetna.  Played along with them and reported to the FTC and Attorney General.  They even sent me a text saying that there bank contacted mine and the money was transfered.  Funny thing, the Check was on my desk and I have not turned into any bank for cashing.  They were out the Fedx fee for sending me a check.  Now now word from them.  Sure wish that someone would stop them. Lost a sale due to holding the item for them.

Total Scammer has this number.  A woman wanting to buy my $250 washer and dryer sent me a bogus check for $2,350 fromAetna Life Insurance Company, and asking I send her Money Gram of $2,000.00.  I have been plauying along allowing her/him to exhaust their efforts on me, but would like to report them as Internet Fraud and now mail fraud and bad check writing and maybe check counterfiting.

when i call this number it is a google # this person is sending fake checks out to people i just receved a check for 1850 dollars that is fake ..
