I received one of the little green notes just a few days ago. Glad I read some of the posts regarding this message about it being a scam of sorts. Nothings for free, so it makes me question this tactic.

Got the same green note 2 days ago. My dogs were going crazy, as usual when someone approaches our door. I cracked the door open and saw 2 males, one heavy set guy (mid 20s) and a younger skinny guy, both looked like shady characters. The big guy approached the door and said "I see your dogs are going crazy, I will keep this short, call this number to get your free gift basket." The guy smelled pretty bad, and they both looked like they were homeless. Did not get a good vibe at all! I took the note and checked to make sure all my doors were locked. I really shouldn't have opened the door to them but figured the dogs would scare them off.

OMG today my roomate told me there was a green little note left on our front door and she called the # which also had a reference #. She just spoke to them and they said they were going to stop by again after 5pm. This is happening in the CHULA VISTA, CA area. So bazaar!!! Glad I googled the number weirdos!!

It's Tue 3/25/14, hot the green paper here in lemon grove, thought it was strange because no one rang the doorbell but the note said that they missed me.   Also there's no company name on the slip so I looked it up and found these posts. Looks like I dodged a bullet. Though even the most recent post I saw seems to be 2yrs old, scary.

They left the same note described by others slipped into my security door in the Santee area while I was napping. We have a no soliciting sign but obviously this isn't a deterrent, looked out my door and didn't see any other green notes on doors of my neighbors that I know aren't home yet for the day so not sure of they're going around targeting.

Received a little green note on my door that stated to call about "your fruit basket delivery"

Got one in University Heights, San Diego on 11/04/2013. Plenty of signs saying no soliciting. Very annoying!

Just happened to us!  We went out to check our mail and the little green slip was in the door.  "Sorry We Missed You" but they didnt even ring the door bell.  Shady shady.

While no one knocked at my door, I've been looking for jobs and saw their ad on Craigslist, found this forum and posted their number. I thought it was a suspicious post!

I got it too, there was a green slip of paper sitting in front of my door when I got home this evening. "For You, a Beautiful Basket of Fruit. Sorry We Missed You". It has a call back number of 619-794-7726, and a reference number of 27423. The only identifying mark on this piece of paper is at the very bottom... Company Promotions. It says call them back Monday through Saturday. I'm half tempted to find a pay phone on Sunday and call them repeatedly making empty threats or just rant meaninglessly until they hang up... and then call back. What a bunch of lovely Scammers!

Some weird looking dude just drove up to my house and left the same note on my door. He knocked just as the baby was crying and the dogs were going nuts. He shoved the paper through the door as I opened it and I told without him saying a thing that I wasn't interested and do not shove papers through my door. I went into my office and found him sitting across the street in an all white dodge/ford van all beat up looking. Just sitting there and smoking. Then he turned the corner eyeing my house and parked on the side of my house. I told my husband about it and he always gives people the benefit of the doubt. This dude was a creeper. Stay away. I am now posting a sign on my door to keep the weirdos away.

Called 619-794-7726 from my work's 1(800) number as I could already tell this was a scam.  The woman who answered said that they just recently opened a new carpet cleaning company and this was a promotion for customers who are in need of this service.  They also offer other discounts.  SCAM.  I politely told the woman thanks but no thanks.

Found one of these green notes on our door in Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch yesterday.  Googled the number and came upon this site.  Thanks everyone for posting their comments.

I have been stalked for a while now by my daughter's dad. When I came home from work to discover this dumb green tag, I freaked. I walked down to see about 10 other neighbor's door-- to discover my door was the only one with it. I figured I've only been gone about 10 hours, I'm sure not EVERYONE left their apartment in that time. I came inside and did my research...Thanks you guys, I'm freaked out, this does seem suspicious. Just glad to know it wasn't my daughter's dad!

I manage a property in the area and picked up a couple hundred of these tags that were struin all over the place. I called the 6197947726 phone number and asked for the address of the person on the other end. The lady acually gave it to me. It is a Kirby Vaccum dealer at
4945 Mercury St. San diego Ca. 92111. I'll be (Giving) them their tags back
the same way they left them here.

These notices are being delivered by questionable individuals who appeared to be casing cars and houses in the neighborhood.  Very suspicious looking folk.

After leaving my place in the evening I come back late to find the green note on my screen door. I figured this to be a scam with note stating "company promotions", so I wanted to look up online what kind of business this was since no company name and odd timing to stop by for delivery. I can't imagine how this method keeps going with any success, and apparently hops around to spread of different cities as made in previous claims...

Got home at 9pm and m door was the only one with this little green note on it. It's my birthday tomorrow so I thought it was a gift but everything you all are saying about the reference number being 27423. wow I thought someone was being nice lol

Just got this green note this morning, ( apparently it was left late the night before)   I thought it looked suspect and thought to google number.  Sure enough a scam.     ALWAYS GOOGLE NUMBER BEFORE CALLING.  Though it clever they left it on Valentines day.    But, no company name on it.    On the bottom it showed Company Promotions, which means they want something from you first.   Be safe out there.

Woman came to my door (My family lives in an apt complex) with the same green note.  Made the same claim about coming in and cleaning our carpets. Said they could even get the our children involved! Very insistent and something wasn't right.  Has scammer written all over it! Glad to know I am not the only one with this problem.

It seems as if these people are wide spread. I also received the same green note wedged between my door today.

I just got home and found a green message on my door.  It asked me to call for my free basket of fruit.  It also told me that my delivery was left at Curtis.  REAL?  Thanks goodness for this website.  The paper delivery was recorded on my camera and I plan on saving the video for future reference.

Found one on my porch tonight.  With all the dogs I was surprised anyone walked up to the porch. I wasn't home but my room mate was, but all our friends know "the procedure" to get us to answer...and they call first too. I live in University Heights, bet he wouldn't come up to my door again.  I'm not giving them the satisfaction of calling after reading this. Thanks ya'll for the heads up.

I saw them in the University Heights area. Two men wearing dress shirts and ties. A real fruit basket would    be delivered by UPS or FedEX. I hope they get attacked by a dog. I have one message for them: Leave people the f#$& alone losers. If anyone wants to buy a vacuum we can go to any store at our leisure. The majority of us hate calls and door to door sales people.

I got that same green note that a beautiful gift basket was delivered. A real gift basket would have been  left. I hope these scammers get attacked by a dog and it would be karma. If you see them then call them on attemptef breaking and entering and give them the piece of paper.

Found one of these on my door last night as well. Exactly as described by others here; small green note, strangely worded message ("For you a Beautiful Basket of Fruit"), and 'Kindly Phone: 619-794-7726'
