Calls claiming I owe money on an old payday loan, stating if I dont pay around 900 they will take me to court for check fraud.

they have been calling my job for the past 3 months...saying i owe the $6000 they can kiss my a**....they couldnt even tell me what the money was owed for

I have received the same calls.  These a**holes called my job about 15 times back to back stating I owed money from a payday.  He claimed he was calling from a Cyber Crime Unit and that I was being charged with 3 counts fraud, internet fraud and something else. The accent is so thick I can barely understand what is being said.  The names they use are clearly American names John Smith, Gary Smith, Shawn Harting.  I was told I needed an attorney and that the complaint was being filed in the Superior Court in my state.  You can hear the other a**holes screaming at other people in the background...

I received about 8 calls from this place all in the same day stating basically the same thing that everyone else is saying.  It had me in a frantic and I contacted my personnel attorney.  All of a suddent the calls stopped.  I really couldn't understand much of what they were saying and truely had no idea what they were talking about.  But, when they threatened to involve and friend and my sister and my military commmander, I freaked out.  I could just see someone coming to my work place or my home or to my sisters home wanting to arrest us or serve us with some kind of paperwork that we had no clue what they were for.  But, having my attorney contact them helped.  I hope they catch these criminals and have them and their families threatened and maybe when they are sent to jail they can think about this when their jail mates are threatening them.

They called me up on my cell phone stating I owe some company for a payday loan. They demanded I borrow someones debit card or rush home to grab my card and pay over $900s.

I got calls at my work twice already this morning.  I called them back and thy transfered me to a Max Johnson, which doesn't amke any since with his thick accent.  I asked them what it was regaurding and he said that i was due in court on May 3, 2010.  I asked him for what and he said, "You know nothing abou this?"  when i told him know they transfered me again.  The next guy told me that Instacash was sueing me for a payday loan that i had received and never paid back.  I told him that i had never heard of them and he said that they own 300 and some parents companys.  I have gotten payday loans before, but i am current on everything.  When i asked him fpr details he hung up on me.  I then called back and he said that i was being charged with 3 felony charges, including check fraud.  I then asked him to send the info to me home and he said that is exactly what they will do and hung up on me again.  Now i call bakc give them my name and they immediately hang up on me.  Not sure what to do, with this whole thing.  I really just need them to stop calling my work or i am going to have a real problem.  Can anyone give me some advice on how to stop this?

I received three calls myself and called them back this morning. Gene Jones was the person (or claimed to be) who proceeded to threaten me with legal action and said they would "drag me from work or home" to court and also named someone I knew. I then proceeded to ask for dates of transactions, etc. and asked them to send me something in writing. I asked what fax number they had on file and they stated "that's none of your concern". This is utter bs and please do not fall for it. I then proceeded to report them to both my banking institution, The FBI, as well as The Federal Trade Commission. I have also put a fraud alert on my credit report as this is an identity theft issue.  I called them back and notified the person who answered that this is fraud and they are under investigation. I hope these theives get caught.

I started receiving calls from 619-863-4542 on Tuesday, April 20th and "Jason Smith" even called my work today, Friday, April 23rd. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and also called the local police.

These people called me today and said the same things to me. I called them and got to someone that barely spoke english and was very irriate when I asked to speak with the company that was charging me with this and I would have to pay them 896.36. They could not give me a contact number for the company or anything. IThey also told me if I didn't pay they would charge me and I would have to come up with 5000 to 6000 court costs. If you get this call it is a scam and dont give them any money. I am reporting this number to the FTC.

They got me how do i get my money back?

They called me too but scary thing is they had a lot of my information already.  Not sure how they got it.  Claimed to be a law office and that I owed them $745 but with legal fees and all it was now 5443.  If I did not pay today they would send a cop to arrest me and take me to the court house.  I tried to ask questions but they are hateful.  They dont speak english well so when I told him I wanted to speak to someone who spoke better english he said it was my fault cause he was speaking english.  Anyway, I called my bank and closed my acct.  Wish there was a way to get a hold of these people and send them to court.  This is ridiculous threatning people like this.  They told me that if I did not pay then my boss would have to and they would contact him in the morning.  Crazy!  i have tried calling them back and now they hang up on me.

I had a man by the name of Dean Jones called me and told me that he was with a law firm.  He stated that I owed a debt for a payday loan and that if I did not pay it they would file a claim against me in court and come to my work and arrest me.  I could not get any information out of them at all.  I have tried to call back to the number and his voice mail is full and it said that it was an error.

I have not paid them any money and will not.  I asked him to send me proof of the debt and he got very irritated.  This is the second or third time that they have contacted me concerning this debt.  They do not speak english and become very mad if you ask to speak to someone that can speak english so that you can understand what they are calling about.

He probably told me the name of the company and I don't remember.

They have been call my cell and work number...threatning with an attorney...when asked what this was about, they gave a reference number and was alarmed that I have not heard anything. Then I was transferred to an Attorney "Jackson Jenkins" (which sounded weird because his accent did not match his name".  Then when asked for details of this matter he stated that he would have to read something and divoulge my SS#, I said wait what is this about, I am not giving my SS# nor do i want you repeating it over the phone.  Then he mumbled something and hung up.  I keep calling back but get voicemail or hung up on...I am contacting the Better Business Bureau Consumer Protection department.

I RECEIVED  A CALL FROM THE SAME PEOPLE IBELIEVE BUT THE NUMBERS THEY CALLED FROM A DIFFERENT NUMBER AND THE GUYS NAME WAS "SHAWN HARDY" EVERYTHING THAT EVERYONE IS SAYING IS EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN THE CONVERSATIONS EVEN THE VOICEMAIL THEY LEFT WAS THE SAME..WHAT OR HOW DO WE HANDLE THIS..I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS A SCAM UNTIL A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT DATELINE HAD DID A STORY ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND I STARTED GOOGLING AND NOW I GUESS ITS COMFIRMED

I have called the FTC and filed a report.

I hate to say it but you will never see the money back.  They are scam artists and they are not a legitimate company.  I am sorry you were taken for so much but like I said you won't ever see it back.  The FBI and FTC can not trace their location because they are calling from an international number but leave landline numbers here in the states.

I have read so many complaints and I don't understand why I have not heard anything from the FTC or the Atty Generals Office.  It has been over 10 days since I filed with the Atty Gen Office and they said I would receive a case number.  Are we not important enough to get their help?  I lost almost $1,000 to them back in February because I was so scared ......I don't know if I will ever get my money back but how many people out there fell for this?   How many more will lose money because they are not being stopped?  They are so convincing, especially to older people like myself, I was sincerely afraid of them coming to my job and only realized this was a scam when they tried it a 2nd time.  My bank hasn't even replied.  I had to cancel my ATM card and still have not received a new one.............I will say one thing, I turned it in to the Watchdog of our local newspaper, but they will not print the article unless I allow them to use my whole name.  Like I am going to allow that to happen.  Do I want the whole world to know who I am and how I was made a fool of.  I am still afraid when the phone rings either at home or at work.  I have lost sleep over this and hate what they have done to me.
