The people with this number almost got my husband involved!  Wanted $40 from a cc he has but it wouldn't go through!  Walmart's debit/Visa cards don't always work unless they are swiped!  Anyway they are scammers/ takers.   In fact there are many many of these businesses in and around Phoenix area.

keep getting calls from 623-242-1657 ... no one is there... a little bit of static like it might be electronic...any ideas? is ther a way to block this # from my phone?  I'm gettimg REAL annoyed!!

I got one form them and a simpilar bunch coackroaches (520-399-6721). When they call I put the phone up to eith my car radio or home TV and blast the volume. Then I call them back 3 times in a row, putting my phone up to some obnoxious volume and walking away from it. Just want to give them a taste of their own annoying medicine. Haven't heard back from 520 ph# still (after 4 phone calls form yesterday). Try it - it's alot of fun and you have to deal with the cockroaches!

I got two calls from 623-242-1657 and the first was static. The second one was a mans voice that said AaaaaHHHH !!! GIVE ME MONEY !

I just got a call from this number on my cell..i never answer calls i dnt knw so i waited for voicemail...when i checked vm it was nothing but static...prob a fraud....i just wanna knw how they get cell phone numbers...its real irritating

I have been receiving calls from phone number 623-242-1657 for the last two weeks.  No one says anything and they don't leave a message.  This is beginning to annoy me and I want these calls to stop!

I also got some calls from (402) 817-0723 and (623) 242-1657 I had called back on the 623 number and all I got was music playing in back.

I got a call from this number and a nother different one too. This particular number asked for me by my name* then she says hi and that she is part of some sort of sweepstakes thing and that I had been chosen to take part in this with them for a chance at $25,000.00 !! I said big deal lady your fake/a fraud from over seas more than likely and now lose my number ! and hung up on her...by the way she said her name was Debbie.And as for the other weird number it was just a call and they was playing what I call "Elevator Music in the background and as soon as said speak or say something-they hung up on me...so I said fine I didn't want to talk to you either !!!    #1 phone number was #(402)-817-0723=Lincoln,Nebraska

If they are calling you inregards to a sweepstakes then why would they need your name and age, you useally have to put that infor down any ways to make sure you are of legal age and then they know who they are calling. I got a phone call today from them and he told me that I won on publishers clearing house sweepstakes well I can tell you that I have not entered in my name in for anything and neither has anyone else that I know. I told them to take me off the list and they have to do so because its not from my bank I dont do busniess with them its not a legal proceding that they are calling me for, I do this for a living im on the phone 8 hours a day

Okay, I tried calling the number back as instructed in other posts but it doesn't even ring. My cell shows that the call is connected but it's silent. I have rec'd at least 15 calls today already and it's not even noon. Help? Suggestions?

There is some kind of scam going on.  I just got a call from 623-242-1657, 832-260-0104, 727-712-0152, 210-787-2554.  I don't know anyone in these area codes.  I didn't answer but I googled all of them and they all seem to be coming from the same place.  If they leave a message it's elevator music or they leave no message at all.  For those who reported answering any of these numbers, they all said that the person on the other end told them they had won a prize.  It seems to be a scam to get personal information.  I will be reporting all these to the police and I would advise anyone getting these calls to not answer.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone while I was at work this morning. I answered, and a woman asked for "Nancy." I told her she had the wrong number, she thanked me and hung up. Odd.

This is the fifth number I've received these calls from in three days, each from a different area code, totalling about 15-16 calls total.  Each line, if answered, was blank, suggesting a machine calling.  Returning any of the calls produced a recorded message asking me to press one for the number on my caller ID or two for receiving a postcard.

And possibly more!  I am 100% sure I am getting these messages due to a cash advance loan I applied online.  They sell you info to all these companies.  Well, I did get my loan and I guess it was worth it to get these nonsense calls.  To be rid of them, just call back and you'll get automated system.  From there follow the prompts (as demonstrated above by other people) and you'll be rid of them!

It IS the magazine telemarketer's recording. I can confirm the 1 1 3 = "do not call" note. I have yet to see that it works.

Called 3 times a day but wouldn't say anything. So annoying!

Keep putting me on hold & playing annoying music as soon as I picked up. Is there a way to block these kinds of calls? Same thing happened when this number 512-366-3175 called.

If you call the number back, there is an automated option that will let you opt out and be placed on their DNC list. Hit 1-1-3 and that should do it (hopefully).

I received a call from 623-242-1657 and it was just music.  I am on the do not call list but i still get tons of these type of calls everyday.

01/14/20010...Recently this number has been calling us...This appears to be a redirect number to 1-800-456-6565 which when I called answered "Magazine Resource" which leaves you on hold for alittle while, then when they come on the phone you have to tell them to put you on the do not call list.  The gal I talked to said we must have entered some type of sweepstakes? Oh brother!

They call my cell phone number during daytime, use up my minutes, tryin to sell me a magazine which i have repeatedly informed them that i'm not interested in.

All three of these numbers are from the Publisher Renewal Service. You can remove your phone number from their database. Take a few seconds but will keep you from receiving more phone calls from them. Call from the number you received the call then press 1, then 1, then 3.

Received 1 calls from this number. They never left a message on my phone. They are out of Phoenix, AZ but it is an unlisted number... but it is a land line (according to White Pages). Can't find out who they are unless you want to pay $1.99. (I've had 7-8 different phone calls from different numbers... all of whom don't leave messages. Well One left a message about some sweepstakes but the rest didn't).

They called me and I picked up, said I was entered in a 1 million dollar sweepstakes. Did not ask for any personal information, did not ask for what kind of credit card I used or anything...just asked my age and if I wanted a phone call from someone else to recieve more info on colleges or educational info in my area which I declined, and thats it.
