this number and 626-198-6246 (also a rotocall) called within 3 min. of each other this a.m. didn't answer either one.

It is indeed illegal under federal law to spoof identity and caller number as it arrives in caller ID displays, but there is something called "selective enforcement"

It seems that in the past 35 years, we've succeeded in "get government off our backs" - with this result, along with salmonella burgers, poisoned pet food, etc., etc.

Thus criminal telemarketer intrusion into our homes is on the "non-selected for enforcement" list...

Getting multiple calls a day for maybe a week or so from 626 198 7659, no name of caller indicated. It looks like a fake number, I never answer and no message is ever left.

Did you ever give a chick named batina your number or tina ludwig? I found out she does this to a lot of people if they don't end up having a relationship with her or if she dislikes you and she lives in el monte I have linked other similar numbers to her right down to her street. She continues to harrass my boyfriends phone.

Just got a call from this number.  No ID so I didn't answer.  Another aggravating moron hard at work...

Got a call from this number and they were using my first name.
Annoying.  I will not answer a number I do not know.

We need a truth in Caller ID Act.  Federal felony to send a misrepresent an outgoing caller ID with intent to evade a call blocker or misrepresent whom is calling.  25 years and $250,000 fine -- put some teeth in the law; and this will stop.

In the mean time; use selective call forward to send calls to the whitehouse switchboard at 202-456-1414.

Just got a call and hang-up from this robo call bozo. So sick of these calls.

I received call from a gentleman asking for a relative, when I asked to take a message to return call, abruptly disconnected.

Must be a scam, legitimate companies identify themselves, and do not hang up if you are not the party called.

I received 2 calls from this number yesterday, 10-29-2013. This is obviously a bogus number - 626 is a valid area code for where I live. But 198-7659 is not a valid telephone number...

Based on that, I'm going to assume the caller is using Caller ID spoofing - therefore it's likely some kind of a scam. Why else would the caller use Caller ID spoofing???  And I'll go a step further and say it's likely a robo calling device  - though saying that is pure speculation on my part...

If ever you connect with a live person, do not under any circumstances give them any personal information - period! No matter how hard they try to press for that - assume it's a scam and treat it accordingly...

Better yet, just don't answer the phone if you see a number like this, or a number you don't recognize...

And if you don't have Caller ID, then get it - it will pay for itself...
